Okay - great! Appreciated the transparency and I understand how overwhelming this particular holiday likely is. However, I later I received an email saying there was a delivery attempt and that no one was home (weird, I had specified to leave them on the porch in that case). Well, it turns out there was never an attempt to deliver - we checked the Ring cam footage. I'm not sure if this is a scam, or just terrible customer service. I've requested a refund. My suggestion is use this florist at your own risk. If you are ordering flowers for a specific date, this likely isn't a good solution. Luckily, my mother is pretty understanding that she didn't get a Mother's Day gift.

There are books and clothes and decorations and foods and accessories and most-things-imaginable, all from Denmark, Sweden and Finland. It was like an uber-specialized Ikea department (with WAY higher prices, though). There were baby bibs and toys with Finnish sayings on them, magnets and souvenirs from "the Olde country", napkins and tea-light metal carousels and other Nordic-European fare. If you're nostalgic for Nordic fare, you're sure to get your fix here. The bad news: the prices. Even acknowledging that the merchandise is from Norway, who wants to pay $15 for a pair of socks that don't look special or different that what you can find in any sock store (I'm talking red socks with a stripe of flowers on them? Nothing that screams "I'm special and imported from Denmark!"). Even the Poulsbo souvenir magnets (which are probably made in China) were overpriced. And the lady behind the counter was dour and I don't think she cracked a smile since the 60's. No "thank you for stopping by" or "how can I help you?" or anything. I didn't get the warm fuzzies here. But my friend got a few Poulsbo red crab fridge magnets, and we left for friendlier stores on Front Street.

I told her the situation - a gravely ill friend - and didn't make any requests regarding color, etc. I trusted her artistry... and that was the perfect decision! The classes were small and Melissa, the owner was my trusty guide, as i am not the craftyest person! Her studio is beautiful and easy to find and she carries alot of different samples to help me choose my project. The best part, is that now that I am a little better at the tenique, i can drop in for some studio time, i just pay by the hour, it was 6 or 7 dollars, and use all of her nifty cutters, and machines, (so i dont have to buy them) and i also get quiet time! no mess at my house! and also has classes for kids! My next adventure there will be with my friends for a saturday morning coffee craft class!
