However, I don't recommend them if you have a loved one who needs assistance, as they aren't really equipped in the same way as other AL facilities. And stay away from their memory care, which unfortunately feels like an "add on" and gets ignored. Overall, they claim to be a transitional facility but in reality, they are not. There are other memory care facilities in the area that can better serve your Loved One.

A friend, who also has a parent at Artis, told me about it, and how much they liked it. I went and met with Jerry and went on a tour. We proceeded from there to get my mom moved as quickly as possible from the first place. Best best thing we ever did. I am so insanely grateful that she is now with people who are warm and caring. They communication I get is fantastic, and I always feel like I know how my mom is doing. And, she has started to take part in activities. If you know my mom, you know that this practically a miracle. The ONLY way she would ever do this, is if she felt welcome, and like she was around nice people. She even has friends there! They also have events that family members can take part in. I can't say enough, I really can't. It is really the perfect fit for my mom. If you or anyone you know has a child who needs a therapist, please do not choose this office even if you were told he was the best in the area for certain types of therapy. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. My mother was sent there for rehabilitation after a very…read morecomplicated surgery. She was neglected the entire time she was there. She was left to sit in her own urine and feces for the entire day. She was not given her pain medications or other prescribed medications as directed. She would never get assistance when pressing her call light and was completely bedridden, unable to help herself in any way. She has waited hours for an aide to come and assist her, the bed was broken and wouldn't raise or lower, food served is cold and inedible. The excuse is that they are understaffed, but if they are that understaffed, they SHOULD NOT ACCEPT PATIENTS. Do not send your family members there!
