I went in mid-September, and I had to go to the bus stop (The nearest one was half-an-hour away by foot from my home, and I carried stuff with me that were better suited to a bus ride than to a hike.), This bus ride seemed to fat boy to include a pair of hikes in refried hell, No shade was at that first stop either, just sun-heated metal. The wait passed quickly, and the driver-- a lady of the fullness of years- was sweet-tempered, found out where your stop was and reminded you when it came up. The bus was not full-sized and it was cool and clean. Those riders who were not shy were friendly, and appeared to be guileless. There was shade at the stop near the medical center, and although one still had to walk a couple of blocks, this was better because the trees shaded practically the whole walk. The drivers got confused when I got to the main transit area, at first thinking that I had to get off my South bus to get back to where I started, but we got that straightened out. I liked it. Two dollars for the round trip seemed like a good deal. I do recommend that one end of your trip either be in the cool of the morning or in the cool of the evening during the summer.

My rides were fine. The worst thing that happened was that my phone ran out of juice right before I got on it, and I was using Uber to get from the park and ride station back home, and I had to sit on the station floor to charge up my phone enough to be able to let my wife know I was safe and to be able to call Uber. Also, park and ride's card reader was down. Now I was prepared for any eventuality and brought cash in case there was a problem, but I hardly ever have cash on me to speak of, and usually, a broken card reader would stop me cold. I hate driving, though, and it was an excellent alternative to getting behind my own wheel.

I agree with pretty much everything the other reviewer said, with the exception of a couple of…read morethings... 1. the cost is now $10 round trip, regardless of whether you take Research, Sawdust, or Sterling Ridge... 2. The buses need repairing badly. I used to take the Sawdust P&R to downtown and my husband still takes it to the Med Center. He was on the bus that caught fire a couple of weeks ago, and lately the air conditioning in the bus has gone out before the bus has reached it's destination. When I took the Sawdust route there were a couple of buses that had seats that were falling apart (they were in the back) and could not be used. IMO these are completely unacceptable. For a $10 round trip, not to mention federal subsidies a couple of years ago, the district needs to prioritize to either repair or replace the buses for the safety and comfort of its passengers!
