Dr. Steinberg claimed that he treats Alzheimer even though his advertised specialties are Headache, Sleep, Pain, and Botox. However, he prescribed expensive tests that unknowingly were not covered by Medicare, and promised renewal of the Kisunla treatment even though the result of the blood test was still Negative for plaque. He didn't deliver on his promises. His office people are very nice but this is the only positive. PS - If you read the older reviews, you'll find out that all 5 stars are about the doctor's bedside manner, but no real praises for treatment results.

However, a sweet lady called me back that Sunday ,because of the message I left and the level of pain I was in. She was patient, attentive, and kind. She heard my concerns, and assessed my problem, and gave me the earliest emergency slot appointment available. Monday morning, I showed up in a terrible condition-tons of pain that I never felt in my life. This office was completely understanding. Sometime when your sick, and out in Public the way people act can make you feel worse, especially if they are inconsiderate, however this office was never ever like that! Each person in the office was kind and helpful, from the moment I walked in I was assisted. When I got back, Doctor Lapco was so attentive, and kind. He gave me a fist bump, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed despite my "Self-Pay" status. He was not able to take a culture thanks to the level of swelling of my ear, but thanks to him inserting a cotton for collection of the antibiotic I was able to finally feel the antibiotic effects, thus the healing process could begin. Without that, the swelling would have blocked the medications from really having any effected - like it did all weekend prior. When I left the exam room, the front desk staff was able to assist in setting me up a follow up appointment, and despite my financial situation they really worked with me. I had to come back to get rechecked but being that I already made my way to the Urgent care and was out a few hundred dollars to no avail in fixing this problem, they were understanding and helping me out by not charging me the follow up appointment. This came as a surprise to me when I called still in pain asking for guidance on what to do. Thanks to this doctor, and his staff I was all better in 1 full week. He gave me good advice on my follow up appointment to keep from having to come back, advice I intend to follow. Thank you Dr. Paul Lapco, and staff for all your consideration, speedy assistance, and kindness. I am forever grateful.

Last Friday I went to their Lake Worth facility and Janine (my tech) was wonderful. Being a tech isn't easy, but she was exceptional and made it as comfortable as could be. Although the Lake Worth facility was "nicer" than Deerfield, neither are the Ritz Carlton. Deerfield's bed was too hard, Lake Worth's too soft, I wonder if the third facility would be just right (for me)? All that said, how can you expect luxury when most of their patients (including me) are on Medicare? My point of writing was just to thank Janine and tell the Institute she made the trip as good as it could be! Thank you International Institute of Sleep and Janine for taking good care of me.

Remember, neither of us was told the lab doesn't open until 8:30 pm when they scheduled our appointment time. However, the male employee at the front was extremely rude, argumentative, and unprofessional. When I arrived, I knocked on the front door, then proceeded to the side door and knocked because there was no response to the front door. Instead of addressing this professionally, the employee ignored the knocking completely until 8:33 PM when he finally opened the door. The most shocking part! He said nothing to the other patient who arrived with me but instead singled me out, yelled at me to leave, slammed the door in my face and foot, and even called the police on me! This behavior was completely unacceptable. No patient should ever be treated with such disrespect, aggression, and humiliation. If this is how they handle their clients, I can only imagine how poorly they run the rest of their operations. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Management needs to take immediate action against this type of unprofessionalism before more people are mistreated. Stay far away!

Instead of receiving a simple answer, I was immediately told to contact my insurance company to verify coverage. The staff gave me the doctor's ID number and said it was my responsibility to find out if my plan was accepted. I specifically asked whether they take Florida Blue, and again was told to call my insurance company. The conversation felt dismissive and unhelpful, and the call was ended abruptly. I understand patients need to verify their benefits, but basic information such as whether the office is accepting new patients or participates with a major insurer should be communicated clearly and professionally. Unfortunately, this interaction left me with a very poor first impression. Nady S
