The previous owners of my dog brought her here so I kept the same practice. It was a smooth…read moretransition moving the previous medical records to my name. My dog is extra nervous about vet visits. They have put pheromones on a neckerchief, fed her spray cheese on a stick, and given her treats in an effort to make friends and try to relax her. It doesn't work, but they can give her an exam, give her shots, weigh her, and trim her nails. During the pandemic, no one was allowed in with their dog so I would call to say we were here, and a vet tech would come get her. The vet would talk to me in the parking lot afterwards. The park and call signs are still up (they tell me to bring her in) which I appreciate because as a stressed dog she tends to bark at other dogs that might be too close to her or me. We can slip in and go to the exam room quickly. Right now there is a respiratory disease going around making dogs ill and deteriorating rapidly. They have a sign on the door to not bring in coughing dogs. They obviously care about the safety of their employees and the animals in their care. Payment can be done in the exam room and a .pdf receipt is sent to my email which makes insurance claims easy.

I walked up to the front desk and interrupted her conversation about pasta that she continued until finished without even acknowledging me. I then asked for my dog's vaccination records and her heart worm prescription so I could start ordering it to my home instead of having to come in monthly. She not only couldn't comprehend my question but then scolded me for not calling ahead when I simply decided to drop by before picking up my toddler from preschool. Every other vet I've ever been to, in several other states, this would've been an in and out issue. Extremely unprofessional. As a former business owner of one of my front desk staff had acted this way towards a customer, they would've been fired on the spot.

The ABSOLUTE best! I am new to the area & had to find a new vet for my Maltese/Shih Tzu, Sebastian…read more He's generally a fairly healthy dog but lately I've noticed some odd changes. I called & explained my situation and they got me in that day!! I didn't have to wait, they saw me immediately, everyone was so wonderful. They were friendly, happy, welcoming, my little boy is a bit skittish & he was a very happy boy leaving! Dr. Cotter was thorough & explained all of my options, she gave me a rough estimate on pricing for each test she wanted to do and gave me the choice on whether I wanted to follow through with her suggestions. The Dr. Visit itself was $50 (very reasonable) and his labs and antibiotics were also extremely reasonable!! I left paying $134 when it could have easily been $200+ had I gone somewhere else. The office was clean and very organized, I am so happy I chose this place to care for my boy. Upon returning home Sebastian began vomiting and couldn't keep anything down so I called to see what they suggested. to my surprised they called at 8:02 PM to make sure I received an answer - I personally think that in itself says a lot about how much they care about their clients. Once again, highly suggested!!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

This is a very delayed review and I debated on whether or not to share but after 3 years since I…read morehad my negative experience with formerly "Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital" now Muirfield Animal Hospital, I feel ready to share in order to help anyone who potentially could run into the same experience. I adopted my Maltese puppy Isabelle in early December 2019, she was a very finicky eater and no matter what I tried would not eat. I had to use a syringe to get her to at least eat turkey baby food. Taking her to Muirfield for her first appointments, they instructed me to leave food out for 5 minutes and if she doesn't eat, take the food away and try later. In hindsight, I have learned this is incredibly dangerous for toy breeds as their blood sugar drops easily if they are not eating. I also felt they had judgement to where I had purchased Isabelle, Premier Pups. A couple of weeks went by with me taking her in to Muirfield to run blood tests and try to understand what was wrong with Isabelle. While I was out of town, my partner had her and she fell very ill. She pooped and vomited, cried out sounds my partner has never heard before. He ran her over to Muirfield and they instructed he take her to MedVet emergency hospital. She spent 3 nights there while they ran a variety of tests. When we got her back, she had tested positive for Giardia. When I went back to Muirfield Animal Hospital again, Dr. Mark Kurtzman convinced me Isabelle had "failure to thrive" and should be put down. He wrote the attached letter for me to share with the breeder, Premier Pups. I shared the letter with Mike the owner and he quickly went into motion to address the health concerns Isabelle was facing. He took her back, used the vet clinic originally recommended to me, Bethel Road Animal Hospital, and kept her for 2 weeks to recover. He was extremely passionate and rightly upset with Dr. Kurtzman's assessment. Happy to say there's a good ending to this story, I did not follow Dr. Kurtzman's advice to put Isabelle down. She did NOT have failure to thrive, Muirfield had failure to try everything they could before giving up on her. Isabelle is over 3 years old now, perfectly healthy and will never, ever be recommending Muirfield Animal Hospital.
