It was so loud and chaotic and the PT had the door open so I asked for it to be shut so I could hear him. He asked me what my doctor had gone over with me on what to expect before the surgery. I told him. He reiterated those same things. I asked a few basic questions that he couldn't help me with, like as a female how do I go to the bathroom and what side should I get into and out of bed if it is my left hip being replaced. It lasted 35 minutes and they charges me $561. I left there and went next door to Hulst Jepsen. Got personal immediate attention, it was quiet, and they charged me half for the same appointment. DO NOT Recommend!!!

Always helpful and willing to listen to me. Then there is the gang upstairs that work on the many problems I have. Zach, Nick (tall), and Patrick are really great at what they do. I also have worked with Anna, Carolyn, and others and all of them are very knowledgeable. The front desk with Aubrey and Keshia are so fantastic. It really showed how great and helpful they are when patients had to check in with the very impersonal kiosk. So glad that is gone and we are back to having "live" help at the desk. So much more efficient! I really enjoy going to therapy at CPR because of the great people working there and how knowledgeable they are!

I put it off for 7 months, yes, until the pain was almost unbearable. I didn't understand how physical therapy would help me as I was already working out on a weekly basis. Lets be honest, did I think the therapy would help me, no. Did I want to go to therapy, no. Did I want another appointment in my schedule, also, no. However, the pain was so bad, I finally listened to my trainer and made an appointment with Shannon. Yes, I was very hesitate on going, but gave it a shot. Shannon and her team were the BEST! Shannon listened to me, understood my concerns and started to work with me. She gave me some exercises, did hands on muscle manipulations, which felt like a massage. She explained everything she was doing before she did it and why she was doing it. Yes, I left there feeling like she beat me up, but in a good way. The pain slowly started going away and I was able to use my arm and shoulder without cringing in pain. Shannon knew I didn't want surgery and gave me the tools to calm a flare up down. She is also willing to provide "maintenance" on my shoulder when the tension is to much for me to relieve. I highly recommend Athletico, Shannon, and her team. Not to mention the facility was very clean.

Recently, I experienced some back and knee problems and my PCP confirmed that I needed physical therapy. Since I had a less-than-stellar experience at a local, large, hospital-affiliated PT center, I asked for a recommendation for another PT center. My PCP suggested Owens Physical Therapy Specialists and I'm very glad he did. This center is locally owned and operated by James and Melissa Owens. I had high expectations for this center based on my internist's recommendation and I was not disappointed! I was very happy to find that Owens Physical Therapy provides very personalized treatment based on a detailed assessment by a licensed physical therapist. I was further reassured that they provide only one-on-one care and do not pass you off to a medical assistant or nurse. I saw Jim Owens primarily, but was also able to see Melissa Owens and Katie Thomas when necessary to accommodate my schedule. Every therapist I saw here was amazing! The center is clean and comfortable with adequate parking. It was never over-booked and it was very easy for me to make appointments. The equipment was state-of-the-art and was very well maintained. They also worked with my insurance and I noted their "in-network provider" list was huge. My back pain was promptly diagnosed, treated and rapidly resolved. My knee issues were more tenacious but again, with competent and patient care, improved dramatically with therapy. I was continually surprised that at no point did I feel like "just another patient". I actually felt that the therapy provided by Jim Owens was comparable to the care one would give a family member. If you require any physical therapy, I highly recommend checking out Owens Physical Therapy Specialists!

Hands down, the best physical therapy I've been to - and I've been to quite a few - from sports med…read moreat Rush in Chicago to Mary Free Bed. They simply don't make therapists like Scott anymore. He uses his hands to work out the kinks and knows that this muscle leads to that bone or that fascia. He listens to you and then shows you why and how something is affecting you on the skeleton. Lower back pain? Well that is really in your calves... and sure enough, it is. He also provides you with instruction on how to work on it when you're at home. Beware, when he works on you it can be painful! But that's because the kneading needs to happen. Scott has been my go-to person ever since my leg went numb after a walk and no doctors could figure it out. He found it in my hip. Then I continued to see him after a cycling crash that broke and dislocated my elbow and broke my jaw in two spots. He was able to get my arm nearly straight... so much so my elbow surgeon at Rush had to run out and get his camera to take pictures. Then he was also able to work on my TMJ. Then after all that, I ended up with a brain infection - but Scott was helping me get through that when so much of it seemed physical (started in neck, then right side lost coordination). He's a true healer and I now go to him maybe every 6 months for a "tune up." I'm a runner so I inherently ended up with some pain or lack of motion because I'm not stretching my calves or strengthening my hips and he'll get me back in the right direction. As a runner and cyclist, I've probably been to a dozen therapy places over the years - I feel like they're all the same. They see what the diagnosis is... then they print some exercises from a book and have you squeeze a towel while they walk away to look at someone walking on a treadmill or use an ultrasound to make a few extra dollars in the bill. I wish I wasn't an old dog, because of his work, I'd be interested in doing the same work. It works.
