I came in for a pre surgical hip replacement consultation of what to do before my surgery. I…read morewaited 15 minutes for a scheduled appointment. It was so loud and chaotic and the PT had the door open so I asked for it to be shut so I could hear him. He asked me what my doctor had gone over with me on what to expect before the surgery. I told him. He reiterated those same things. I asked a few basic questions that he couldn't help me with, like as a female how do I go to the bathroom and what side should I get into and out of bed if it is my left hip being replaced. It lasted 35 minutes and they charges me $561. I left there and went next door to Hulst Jepsen. Got personal immediate attention, it was quiet, and they charged me half for the same appointment. DO NOT Recommend!!!

I love going to my pool and floor therapies at the Cascade branch. I have worked with quite a few…read moreof the therapists there, from Rachel in the pool ( she is THE best). Always helpful and willing to listen to me. Then there is the gang upstairs that work on the many problems I have. Zach, Nick (tall), and Patrick are really great at what they do. I also have worked with Anna, Carolyn, and others and all of them are very knowledgeable. The front desk with Aubrey and Keshia are so fantastic. It really showed how great and helpful they are when patients had to check in with the very impersonal kiosk. So glad that is gone and we are back to having "live" help at the desk. So much more efficient! I really enjoy going to therapy at CPR because of the great people working there and how knowledgeable they are!

I have been seen by JPI for over a decade. They have always treated my pain compassionately, and…read moremade sure I knew all of my options. Pain is treated at this office, but as chronic pain patients know that treatments and medications ease the pain, not cure it. A lot of the complaints feel like people were expecting a cure- that's rarely possible for chronic pain. There are a few methods to help ease the pain- shots, pain meds, physical therapy, and surgery. If you are unwilling to do any of those, there isn't really much left that can be done, short of a magic wand, which no doctors in the world possess yet. There are also state regulations that have to be adhered to if you are receiving opioid care from your doctor, which includes taking random urine screenings, and being seen in between shot appointments. You will encounter those no matter what office you go to.

If you have real pain don't bother going to Javery. He minimized my conditions and my pain after I…read morehad tried everything else. He basically treated me like a low life junkie when I asked about pain meds like I was just trying to get high. Purdue and greedy doctors made it so pain meds are now demonized and people in pain can get nothing to help because doctors just treat every patient with pain like their lying even with medical documentation. they aren't getting those nice kickbacks for prescribing pain meds so they won't do it it's utter hypocrisy. Yet everyone can get legally stoned in Michigan. That drug is sanctioned. These doctors like Javery don't care if you're in pain. But they'll work up every medical test your insurance won't cover. He basically walked out on me when I asked about pain relief. Insulting and self serving doctors caused the opioid crisis and now they've caused the fentanyl crisis bc people in real pain have zero options.

I have been a patient at Michigan Pain Consultants for 16 years now and I have a degenerative…read morecondition. Dr Gostine has been wonderful to work with, he truly makes me feel as if we are partners in my journey. Just when I have lost hope because my body's falling apart too fast, he comes in the room and shows me what he's doing with stem cell research and tells me to hold on, insurance has to cover it sooner or later! He gave me just what I needed that day, Hope. He offers me new and different treatments as they become available and are appropriate. He works with me when I present him with issues I have to find solutions. The nurses are also very kind and helpful too. You actually get to know certain nurses pretty well because you deal with the same ones all the time, so they know you which is incredibly helpful- especially if your having a painful day and are having a hard time putting words together. Really everyone is nice. It must be a good place to work because there are a lot of people that have been there longer than I have. Some things that they have done for me that were not requested by me, but I truly was touched and appreciate are: When A surgery I had ended up leaving me with mobility issues Dr Gostine was concerned and sent me for a second opinion. When one of the other doctors heard of a trial for a new sleep medicine, he presented it to me and got me in it. He remembered that I get very little if any R.E.M. Sleep and have other sleep issues as well. I have seen other doctors in the practice and mid levels. I have been to physical therapy and behavioral therapy there, too. So yes, I would highly recommend Michigan Pain Consultants to anyone who is looking to find a place to help you in your search to find balance with your pain.

When you do repeated injections in the painful area and it doesn't help, he tries to shame you into continuing the injections anyway. If he had bothered to review my prior MRI or order a new MRI (and any good practitioner would have), he would have found that it was referred pain from a severe back problem that can't be fixed with injections and requires surgery. My advice is to try somewhere else that isn't just a needle-jockey mill.

I put it off for 7 months, yes, until the pain was almost unbearable. I didn't understand how physical therapy would help me as I was already working out on a weekly basis. Lets be honest, did I think the therapy would help me, no. Did I want to go to therapy, no. Did I want another appointment in my schedule, also, no. However, the pain was so bad, I finally listened to my trainer and made an appointment with Shannon. Yes, I was very hesitate on going, but gave it a shot. Shannon and her team were the BEST! Shannon listened to me, understood my concerns and started to work with me. She gave me some exercises, did hands on muscle manipulations, which felt like a massage. She explained everything she was doing before she did it and why she was doing it. Yes, I left there feeling like she beat me up, but in a good way. The pain slowly started going away and I was able to use my arm and shoulder without cringing in pain. Shannon knew I didn't want surgery and gave me the tools to calm a flare up down. She is also willing to provide "maintenance" on my shoulder when the tension is to much for me to relieve. I highly recommend Athletico, Shannon, and her team. Not to mention the facility was very clean.
