Nataliya Prokosheva, who oversees the department, demonstrated a lack of effective leadership and people-management skills. During my time at the company, I frequently experienced unprofessional behavior, including being spoken to in a disrespectful manner, public criticism, raised voices, personal remarks, and what felt like workplace bullying. Rather than creating a supportive environment where employees could learn and grow, the management approach often felt intimidating and demoralizing. Constructive feedback is important in any workplace, but there is a clear difference between professional guidance and personal attacks. For a company that strives to maintain professional standards, this type of behavior should not be considered acceptable. I believe many employees would be able to perform at a much higher level under stronger, more respectful, and professional management within the Bookkeeping department. That being said, my criticism is directed specifically at Nataliya Prokosheva and her management style within the Bookkeeping department, not at the company as a whole. Although I did not have the opportunity to work directly with the owner of the company, my overall impression of him is positive. Based on the way the company operates and the feedback I heard from both employees and clients, he appears to be a professional and responsible business owner. I also had the opportunity to work with many talented, friendly, and hardworking colleagues who made the workplace enjoyable despite the challenges. OG Tax and Accounting has a strong team and significant potential for continued success. Came to them not too last minute to get help with individual tax filing in a complex year, and I…read morehave never used anything but turbotax in the past. Their rate is not terribly low but I figured it would work out considering that they might get me a better refund than, say, HR Block. They offered the rate plus an hourly for their individual preparation, and I agreed. After entering my documents, my agent learned about my small LLC started during the previous tax year, and requested the relevant documents to file the taxes for it. Great! It is a tiny business- it seems my agent is going to throw this in to maximize the return. 2.5 weeks later, after an update request, someone else from the company sends me a message informing me of an added $750 plus hourly (!!!) for the LLC filing. It had been 7 weeks of their collecting documents altogether, with no other information provided about my status/return. I told them this was unacceptable and that in order to continue they would need to wave the fee or offer a discount. They offered $200 off what would be an extra $1200 or so. I'm throwing them a 2 star for at least acknowledging a mistake and offering a partial refund. This is probably too generous considering I'm paying them $230 in hourly fees for absolutely nothing but stress. Went to HR block and got a nice return for maybe a quarter of the price.

I'm just glad after years and years of switching accountants, I've finally found someone that I feel good about sticking with. Despite a career in financial services, I could not be any less interested or engaged in my own personal finances if I tried. I'm a designer by trade; a chef who tastes none of his own food. I'm pretty good at what I do. But when it comes to taxes or being able to answer even the most basic of questions my accountant asks of me, I'm just a complete philistine. I make money. I spend money. And I live by one simple, but very effective rule: don't spend more than you make. The rest I leave up to the professionals. Needless to say, accountants have a lot of fun with me.
