I had high hopes too since my husband and I are retired military and the owner said he came from a big military family. Disgraceful....

My yard was in need a "complete make over" after living here 26 years and I could not have asked for more professional team. I have been extremely pleased with everything done (several projects since August 2025). Seth has been the most helpful from evaluating my projects, quoting fair prices, communicating with me and all members of his team. The work has been done in a professional and efficient manner (absolutely no complaints) but the best part has been the communication about what and when things would be completed. Looking at some of the older reviews, I don't know who was co ordinating back then but I know it was not Seth--He is the BEST! I would not hesitate to recommend 100%

Exceptional Efficiency, Safety, and Fair Pricing…read more We recently hired Gardner Tree Service to clear a dense 80 ft by 30 ft space of brush on our property. The project involved knocking down several trees--including 4 pines--and trimming 9 others. The crew, led by brothers Dwight and Victor along with an additional teammate, completely exceeded our expectations. We assumed a job this large would take days, but they brought in a ditch witch to clear the brush and finished almost the entire project in a single day, returning on day two just to tighten things up. What impressed us the most was their absolute commitment to safety in everything they did. Trimming the 9 pines required a climber to go 15 to 20 feet high right along our neighbors' fences. Watching him work was amazing; he was incredibly intentional, using redundant ropes to secure himself and taking whatever time was necessary to ensure the job was done safely without jeopardizing the surrounding property. They did everything perfectly the first time. We are extremely pleased with the final result, and the price was very fair for the massive amount of work they accomplished!

In May 2025 I contracted with VLC to perform some minor grading and sod replacement in my back…read moreyard. After a few delays due to weather and scheduling conflict where the work would have been completed while I was out of town, my contract was satisfied in mid July. The first day that they were on site, they did not address all areas that were originally estimated so I had to schedule them to come back out later and address what was omitted. That work was not completed until the last few days of July 2025. Within a few weeks of the work being completed, a large portion of the sod had not taken root and was obviously dormant or dead. I contacted them and a few days later someone from management came out and assessed the sod. He stated that we were headed into the dormant season and we would reassess at the beginning of the next summer. On 18 May I contacted them because the sod had still not begun to grow and still remained dead. I received an automated response stating that someone would reach out to me to discuss, but no further response was provided. I sent another email on 27 May and received the same automated response until someone showed up on 01 June. They spoke with my wife and told her that management would be in touch to discuss my issue. No one followed up with either of us after that visit. I emailed them again on 06/24 and 07/05 along with two text messages sent to their system. All of these were responded with the same automated "someone will contact you". After multiple attempts to correct the issues with the work put in place, I contacted them for a final time today and informed them of me placing this review. I also informed them that as a veteran, I wanted to support a veteran owned business and willingly paid them a higher rate for the same work. I kept this internal before posting any review because I wanted to give them an opportunity to address my concerns or even acknowledge my request. At this point however, I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt. Please be aware when reviewing this company. It pains me to say that I cannot recommend them for any work moving forward. Should you choose to work with them, hopefully your results will be more positive. Thank you.
