I've been seeing her for three years and now that I'm leaving Miami, I'm kind of traumatized thinking about having to find a doctor as good as Dr. Shaffer again! Dr. Shaffer is associated with Baptist and you can communicate with her office using Baptist's online portal as well as see all of your exam summaries and lab results. She was covered under my United Healthcare Insurance, and luckily still in-network when I switched to Cigna. She shares the office with one or two other doctors who I believe are both "concierge doctors" so needless to say the office is beautiful and spotless. They can do EKGs and x-rays in office, as well as all of your blood work right then and there. I've seen her for everything from yearly physicals and strep throat to more complicated issues. She is so kind and intelligent. I have never once felt any bit uncomfortable or awkward when talking to her. Her office staff is wonderful too, particularly Courtney, and many times I've been able to get an appointment same day. Her office is located off of Lincoln Road, but there is a huge parking garage right next door with very reasonable rates. I think at most I have ever paid $8 and that was for a fairly long physical with labs, followed by a stop at Shake Shack across the street (because what else do you do after getting a physical?) As far as any negatives, the wait time can at times be a bit long, but since the service is so good I really don't mind. They're usually good about submitting prescription refills as well, I've only had to call them once or twice to follow-up on a refill. Her old assistant, Minerva I believe, used to be a bit scattered, but her new one Courtney is totally on top of everything.

There billing office however is not so great. They refuse to send you anything via email, text or leave a voice mail. My wife and I both did not get several billing notices. Either the mail failed or we missed then because of extensive travel. We missed a small payment and then 7 months after the procedure received a rather nasty letter demanding immediate payment or our relationship with the Doctor would be terminated. There was no doctors name or any name on the notice and there was no phone number to contact them. There was no link to pay online. It took 5 calls to eventually speak to a person who only wanted get my payment. They said the only way they communicated with patients was by regular mail. They couldn't even email me a receipt. Definitely go to Dr. Newman but be careful with the billing office.

He also did a breast revision from a surgery that I had with another doctor several months ago. He tightened the vertical scar and performed a breast list. Additional, he excised extra skin that I had around the breast area. It hasn't even been 24 hours and I feel great. I'm sore, but I am not in pain. The soreness that I have is equivalent to do Barrys Bootcamp class followed by a 90min spin class. It feels like a workout burn. Dr. Craft is so incredibly friendly and so incredibly talented. A friends referred me to him and I'm so happy she did. On the day of my consultation, he took the time to get to know me and understand my goals. He also took the time to draw on my body and mark the areas that he could operate one and he gave me a strong idea of what the outcome would look like. I booked the surgery within days of my first meeting with him. I want to also say that his staff are warm and naturally friendly. Yenifer is my patient coordinator and through it all she communicated well with me. She's so incredibly friendly. Norma, who is the front desk supervisor is incredibly warm and friendly. I also had the pleasure of meeting Anna, Dr. Craft's wife and she is so cheerful and nice. You can tell that they treat all of their patients like family. On the day of my surgery Dr. Craft gave me a fist bump, a true indication of his really fun and calming personality. He again marked my body and went over the surgery step by step. The anesthesiologist was really nice and helped to calm my fears. The OR nurse and team were great. What I really appreciated is that after surgery they allowed me to spend time in recovery. I was in recovery for about 1 1/2 hours. The nurse who was with me was outstanding. Making sure I was fully alert, feeding me water and crackers, checking my blood pressure and heart rate constantly. I was truly in good hands. Dr. Craft's team called me after surgery, and Dr. Crafted called me too. I'm so excited to see how it all turns out but I can say just from looking at my body in the mirror so far, that Dr. Craft is an expert at his craft!! I highly, highly, highly recommend him.
