I would highly recommend not to visit this Clinic. Very unprofessional.
On May 18, 2016, I had a hygienist appointment at Gonzales Dentistry @ 129 Gorman Park Rd, North York, ON M3H 3L1. I was assigned their best hygienist, Derlyn, in house.
Derly is a very merry person, she prefers to sing (along with another colleague) while doing her job. This colleague also happened to have tasks to perform in the hygienist room and around my chair (during my appointment). This meant she had to walk in and out of the room/area, while my teeth were being cleaned. Since, this was my first time at their clinic, bone density had to be measured. There was a commotion (screaming and yelling) on who will assist Derlyn on manually measuring the born density. Finally, someone assisted Derlyn to write down the measurements manually. This piercing to the gums, led to me having painful gums for weeks.
Derlyn has her own method to scale teeth, she prefer to use the water floss and polish, instead of the actual appliance (scalers) to brush or scrub the teeth. During the entire process, I used paper napkins (Kleenex) to keep myself dry. She does not take the effort to move around your mouth. She wants the patient to move their head towards her and away from her, causing total discomfort in the patient's neck. At one point she was frustrated that the polish would not mask the stain and gave up. At the end of the session, when the dentist came over to examine, she stated that the stain was due to iron supplement and does not go away.
Yes, I am aware that one dentist thinks he or she is the best or better than the other. Yes, they do have a mindset to make money from your insurance company. Patient's teeth wellbeing is of least importance. Now, I have the doctor naming the tiniest cavity seen with "naked" eye along with other comments as to what a bad job my orthodontist has done. Mind you, the orthodontist, I have had is a perfectionist and well known in the Thornhill Jewish community. I left with my blood pressure high at the end of the appointment.
This was not the end of it. The next day, my permanent brace came off. It has been in perfect condition for the last ten years. This was the result of all the water floss scrubbing and pressure applied to my front teeth. Ghosh! I had to run to an emergency to spend an additional $200 to have it fixed. Not to mention that Gonzales Dentistry had charged my insurance company approximately $400. read more
