I dare you to find a better pizza in Zurich. Actually, pizza just doesn't get much better than this, not here or anywhere else I've been.
The crust is made in the traditional roman style, with a thin, crunchy dough and it's also topped with traditional fresh ingredients: Prosciutto e Funghi, Quattro Staggione... that kind of thing. They have plenty of vegetarian toppings to choose from, I like spicy "Diavola": onion, garlic & pepperoncini :)
Pasta and salads although not outstanding like the pizza, are also very nice (I like "Formentino e Funghi") and their small selection of wine by the glass is quite good (I'm oh-so-partial to their Cannonau).
Location is very convenient, just steps of Bahnhofstrasse. There is a nice ambiance, though it can get horribly hot inside. In summer, they put tables out on the sidewalk and it's possible to sit outside.
Now, if I think this place has one of my top 5 pizzas EVER why the 4 stars? Well... the service. I have heard many stories about the unpolite servers and rude management. I have not experienced either. They have always been courteous over the phone, one of the servers is a really nice guy... the rest of them are dry, but not unpolite.
But food takes forever to be made, rush hour or not. We were there a couple of days ago and ordered a big beer 3 times! our waiter just kept forgeting...then we got a small one. Dishes did not arrive together to the table, so pizzas were getting cold while we waited for a plate of pasta to be delivered for our friend.
Anyhow, you've gotta try this pizza. read more
