The course is drying out and almost back to the forgiving fairways I'm used to, but I have to say that the rough over the last 2-3 rounds I've played here since those rains has been a little thicker than I'm used to...but I actually like it! Makes the course more interesting and challenging. Maybe I'm a masochist but I also kind of liked some of those big ponds that were out there right after the heavy rains...definitely made you focus more on driving accuracy vs just bombing away (but it would be nice to put a warning flag or something on a few holes where those ponds are hidden (like on #1, #10 and #14)...nothing worse than hitting what you thought was a great tee shot only to find out you lost your ball in a huge pool of standing water you could not see from the tee box or fairway (no penalty but cost me a $4 premium ball a few times!). It's also taken awhile to fix the driving range fence (going on about 2-3 months now) so that's a bit disappointing (I heard it will be ready by April 1 though)...however, the short game practice area is one of the better ones in the area for a public course (it's free if you're playing a round that day). What I do miss is the Par-3 Restaurant and Snack Bar. Hope they sort out that messy situation soon and get another great proprieter in there soon. Anyway, you can't beat the price here, especially on a weekday! It's my go to course when I need to work on my game and build up my confidence!!

Took a break from playing here because they aerated the greens a couple months back, and whatever they did, they got the greens back in amazing shape. Putts roll true, has good speed and maintained really well. The tee times are really hard to get if you are booking out a few days to a week in advance but my method of just checking the night before or the morning of never fails. I've also shown up with no tee time and have been able to walk on no problem. I think the area for improvement is leveling out the tee boxes. Other than that, you really can't beat the price of poplar. $45 on the weekdays (Mon-Fri), $62 on weekends. While the course itself isn't challenging, It's the best value when it comes to playability and course conditions.

Played a round on a beautiful day today. The weather warmed up nicely after we teed off at 10:18…read moreand when near the turn, I had wished I wore shorts!! I play here about once a month or so and take advantage of the weekday senior rate ($45 to walk). Today, the greens were a bit slow (looks like greens were aerated in the last month) and the rough was a couple of inches longer than usual, too, both in the fairway and green side (almost felt like Harding Park rough) and often just happy to find your ball and be able to gouge it out back into play! Since I wasn't hitting the ball as straight as I like, it was a fairly challenging day. Note: there is also a temporary green on 16th hole so it plays as a short par 4 right now (saw a sign in pro shop but starter forgot to mention it). But all in all, paired up with a great couple in their 80s and had a fun day, despite playing over bogey ball today!! P.s. Wish their bar and restaurant would stay open longer during weekdays -- usually closes around 4pm or sometimes earlier, right when you need a refreshment and want to relax for a bit after a tough round!!

In terms of price, it's definitely one of the pricier rounds of golf in the Peninsula. I was able to book a tee time online at a discounted rate, which made it more enticing. If you like to walk hills, the course offers a good workout if you decided to walk it. When we played the it was cart-path only with the golf carts. If it's your first time playing, 10/10 recommend getting a golf cart. The course itself id say is tough for the average golfer. Lots of long holes, tight fairways, uneven lies, and some tee shots that can make you sweat a bit. If you have a problem keeping the ball in bounds, definitely recommend bringing extra golf balls. Overall, solid and challenging course. Decent facilities, beverage cart that comes around, and full service restaurant for some pre round or post round fuel.

At the club house the same club manager spoke to us and made sexist remarks to my partner how we should have just shot at them and that my partner wouldn't have reached them anyway. Unacceptable behavior and etiquette from a course manager who should know better than to insult his patrons and not be courteous of players who don't want to have to aim at players that are on the greens.
