Arrived on a late Tuesday afternoon and the place was pretty packed with the after work crowd and high school golfers. Luckily I was able to get a stall on the covered lower level. I got a medium bucket for $17. The range card is the move here, but since I don't practice often, I don't feel like it's worth it but if you plan to hit the range a ton, it's a good way to save some money. This year I built a new bag, so stock yardages was the goal. The trackman makes it super easy to do this as you can select a practice session, and then pick what clubs you are hitting. Once I was done, I couldn't figure out how to email myself the results, so I just took pictures and then used the interwebs to analyze my averages based off the numbers of my range session. If you are looking to get a baseline of your stock yardages, this is a good place to start. Overall, easily one of the best practice ranges on this side of the bay. Definitely will be back.

Prices went up another $2 with weekday rounds now at $47 and weekend rounds at $67. Good news is that they are one of the few courses that still count Friday as a weekday (most golf courses in the immediate area now count Friday as a weekend rate). It's an extremely easy course to walk and with a push cart I almost feel guilting taking a power cart but sometimes it just makes sense. They've been doing a better job with maintaining the tee boxes as well, and even installed a brand new one on hole 6. While the restaurant and snack shack are still not functioning at least it hasn't stopped them from keeping the course in fairly good shape.

Came back to Crystal this past weekend to see how the conditions have improved during the summer…read moremonths, and I gotta say, the course is in pretty good shape. Less muddy, and greens were in great shape and really tough to read. Typically when I play, I always play the tees that the people I get paired up with want to play, and this time it was the blue tees. It's been 15+ years since I played the blues, and I gotta say, it's definitely way more challenging. The par 3s become extra long, you have to be more strategic with your tee shots, and definitely makes you have to play your longer irons for approach shots. If you can score well from the blue tees, you are probably a really good golfer. That being said, I got some work to do lol If you are a newer golfer, definitely play the white or red tees. And plan to bring a lot of balls because there's plenty of spots to lose them, especially if you are errant off the tee. The prices here have raised just a tad with a weekend round costing around $127 a person with a cart. I was able to snag a discounted tee time through GolfNow, so saved some money there. Overall, really fun course, my girlfriend's first time playing here and had a lot of fun. Definitely will be back especially since it's like 10-minutes from home.

The course was really pretty. It was definitely challenging. There are virtually no flat lies and no straight putts. It's tough, but not so hard it's not fun. I also felt like the more you play here, the easier it would be. There are lots of blind tee shots and elevation changes, and lots of hazard if you're too far right or left. Even if your golf sucks, you absolutely cannot be the view from 90% of the course. Definitely not a bad way to spend an afternoon!

Unacceptable behavior and etiquette from a course manager who should know better than to insult his patrons and not be courteous of players who don't want to have to aim at players that are on the greens.
