It was very well maintained and offered just enough shade to keep us cool while played

Spent a few nights "glamping" in a tent August 2025 & then a couple nights glamping in a cozy…read morelittle cabin February 2026. Love that they allow dogs. The tent & cabin were both very clean & comfortable. The campground community bath house (when staying in a tent or cabin w/out bathroom) was also kept clean. The cabins could use a bit more privacy - all the huge, gorgeous, picturesque windows are problematic as (particularly in the winter) there's several other cabins w/full view into your windows. It would be nice if it was more of a private / woods view than looking into other cabins. That said, my daughter & I enjoyed our time and have been repeat customers. Would give it 4.5 stars (Yelp doesn't give half star option, but I needed to account for the lack of privacy in several of the cabins in the area we were in.). Overall a great option & we'll likely be back!

What to do in Freeport? VISIT THE DESERT!…read more This has been on my list for years and it did not disappoint. I kinda found it odd to pay $21 to explore the dunes but here's what we got for the price: - unlimited train rides - Ability to wander the desert - Executed their scavenger hunt - the kids rode a massive slide (unlimited) - we explored a fair/troll maze - dug for fossils - visited an old gas station - walked through an old home - unique playground This place isn't just the desert (and I don't mean the mini golf.) It's a little hidden wonder that offer families things to do. My kids (4 and 13) were fully immersed in the experience. The oldest was keeping the youngest involved in the scavenger hunt which he loved looking for the 'red' guy. The hands on portions fully captivated them. I was worried the walking might be a lot for the little guy but he didn't complain not once. It was explorative and interesting. Keep in mind, on hot days I bet you feel it! Bring sunblock, wear hats, closed toed shoes are best and water. Also, the big blue slide in the rear of the desert shoots little ones out like a cannon! I thought he broke his arm but he was ok! You've been warned.

This is such a fun spot for mini golf! They have two 18-hole courses. Both of the courses are fun…read morewith exciting elements, but the lower course is more interesting than the top course. The first 9 hole of the lower course are handicap accessible and I'm not sure if just the first 9 of the top course is accessible or if the whole course is accessible, but there are more ramps and sloping ground in the top course compared to the lower course. One thing I appreciate about both courses is that they are not repetitive like many other mini golf courses. Each hole has a unique aspect to it. The score card also has an I-spy checklist on the back, which gives groups another activity to do while playing or waiting for the group ahead of you to finish a hole. This is optional, but it ties into their theme of Maine wildlife. Everything here feels cohesive and their layout is well-planned. However, I do wish there was more lighting for the upper course. We played that one second, so it was getting dark and a few areas were difficult to see. Especially if you're going in the evening, I recommend playing the top course first if playing both. Their ice cream options were also good, with several unique offerings from Hersheys as well as some standard options. The ice cream prices seemed reasonable and on par with other places in the area. The mini golf prices are higher than some other places I've been (especially for playing both courses), but the courses were fun.

While it looks really nice, unfortunately the courses themselves are just okay. It's very expensive…read morecompared to other mini golf courses in the state. And looks alone it would seem to be worth it, but once you get on the course it's really "easy". Each hole is almost exactly the same. There's no real obstacles or challenge. Maybe a turn or a rock, but that's really it. It was pretty boring. An 18 hole took about 20 minutes. It's all looks, but no attraction. And for the high price ($25 a person) it's not really worth the trip.

My family and I were wanting to do some fun activity and came across Island Green Golf Center. But…read morewhen we got here, the place seemed to be called Traditions Golf Center. The young staffer had no idea what or if the place had switched owners and the name or not. There is a Pat's Pizza attached, and Gifford's ice cream too. We chose to play Mini Golf, and they have the course set up as a 27 (!) hole course. I believe that it may have been really three nine-hole courses based on how the holes were designated in the concrete. The course has a many similar holes with a lot of sloping which caused my group to max out a bunch of times. But, we also had some holes-in-one for those who were lucky. My son "won," followed by a tie for mom and dad, and then my daughter, my dad, and lastly his wife. She, however, was one of the holes-in-one playing Happy Gilmore style pushing the ball with the putter like a hockey stick much to the chagrin of my son when it actually worked well. The teen staffers were out and about using a leaf blower to clean the course, and one hole had the astroturf completely replaced just before we played on it. A lot of brick curbing was loose so watch your steps! The main water feature also was not operative. Everyone on the course (and there were quite a few) was well behaved and respected the people ahead of them. Staffers in the clubhouse wore masks and the sign said anyone vaccinated didn't need one but everyone else did. There is a single hoop basketball court for customer use and although they advertise having go karts and we did see the course, they too were not running. $54 for six to play golf reduced to $48 with a law enforcement discount. We did not stay to eat, and it took a couple of hours to get through 27 holes with all of us. I bet a lot just stay and eat after. If it were very sunny, we would have all been burnt to a crisp; wear sunscreen as there's no coverings on the course. This was a nice way to spend a couple of hours with the family doing a fun vacation activity.
