It is really challenging with lots of uphill and blind tee shots. We joke that it is like Pebble Beach, thanks to its spectacular views and its seaside location. The prices are pretty good. You will get a round for about £20 which is pretty standard for the area. The other members seem nice enough and not too snooty if you are a guest. As long as you observes proper golfing ettiquette and are polite you won't go too far wrong.

The choice of starters were pate or vegetable soup, I'm not fond of pate so choose the veg. Soup. Very disappointed with it, very watery and no flavour and the carrots were crunchy. The wheaten bread that accompanied it wasn't he nicest either. My husband got the pate which he seemed to like ok. For main it was a choice between, sole, pork loin, turkey & ham or chicken wrapped in bacon. I was torn between the sole and the pork and ended up going for the sole as the waiter said that it was lovely. I'm not the best of cooks but I would say I could have cooked the fish better, best way to describe it was soggy :( My husband got the pork loin and was disappointed too. More stuffing and fat than pork. The sides which were brought out were chips, more chips and yellowy mash. A few bowls of mixed veg. too which looked good from a distance but turned out to be nothing more than frozen veg.!! Dessert was ok, choice of warm apple crumble with ice cream or mixed berry pavlova. I went for the pavlova, it was lovely but the berries were either tinned or frozen which was disappointing by restaurant standards. All in all I was disappointed and my review only a deserves a one star mainly due to a very pleasant waiter and a lovely view, albeit it was raining of the sea!! Definitely wouldn't recommend it or choose to go back.

Citigolf - The perfect location for a stag party - you don't even have to like golf

The concept of Citigolf is pretty simple, you are presented with real golf clubs, a real ball and a simulator screen and a variety of courses to choose from. Then all you do is swing your club and hope for the best, well that's what I did anyway. This might sound complicated but don't worry you'll be in the capable hands of Andrew the host who talks you through the technique and instructions in perfect detail. What's that I hear you say? 'I'm not that in to golf?!' Well that's the beauty of the place it's not just golf you can use the (at least) 8ft screens to play the Wii, Xbox connect or even sing your favourite Frozen song on Karaoke. But whatever you do, don't do what I did and get beaten at connect boxing by a girl - it's embarrassing for everyone. There's also a fully stocked licenced bar and a kitchen. We took advantage of a pizza, golf/connect and drink deal for £20 a head and that gave us 2 hours game time. Make sure you book ahead if you want to go - Andrew is even impeccable on the phone and he will talk you through deals that are on. I would just keep in mind that the actual Golf is relatively difficult. I could imagine it would be excellent for stag parties but definitely don't wait for a friend to get down on one knee before you check this place out. Northern Ireland has had a bit of a golf revolution over the last few years but Citigolf may just create a fun revolution of their own in Belfast City!

When the invites went out there were a lot of questions as to what exactly we would be doing, with no one having been before. Needless to say, there was a lot of scepticism about the night, however, intrigue certainly helped keep the numbers up. We were greeted on arrival by Barry, who I believe owns the business. He explained how the night would run, starting with teams being picked 'playground styley'. It's amazing how quickly that fear sets in that you may be left until last (I wasn't in case you are worried). Being somewhat competitive the evening was perfect for me. The games included quizes, bobsled, running races, dance mats, karaoke and cracker eating competitions. Barry was a fab host, quickly familiarising himself with our group and referring to us by name (nice touch). We were served a warm curry and wedges half way through the night to help soak up the alcohol, which was served by the lovely Nico. He too was very friendly, remembering my drink order each time - not sure if that says more about him or me! Haven't tried this place on a 'normal' booking, however I would look no further for a group. Great craic and Barry allowed us to stay on after and have our own karaoke, probably to assist the bar sales!

I also replaced my putter here and when I did I got some really non-intrusive and helpful advice from the staff here. Being part of a chain it is pretty competitive as regards prices and you will be able to get most brands here at a pretty good price. My brother and I have been flirting with the notion of starting with golf recently, and I've got to about third base relatively whilst my brother is stuck at first! In order to accelerate his progression he took me down here to try and look round. He was able to get some cheap lake balls here and also a large golfing net for practising your swing. The staff were very helpful in talking us through how to set up and use it, as we felt it would be better to get a cheap net that we could practice on for longer rather than getting stuck paying at a driving range with the judging glares of others and wasting shanked balls! They have a wide range of bags, shows, clothing and all golf clubs which are out of my range until I win the lottery, become a corporate bigwig or kill someone super rich. Hopefully all three will occur, would be an interesting future!
