It is open to both club members and the public, and is beautifully situated in the Castlereagh Hills, with idyllic views over Strangford Lough and County Down. The course itself is a challenging 18-hole par 67 course, which will test the most experienced pro, never mind the newbies like me! The clubhouse features conference facilities, private function rooms, professional shop and the resident PGA Golf Professional who can offer private golfing lessons to individuals and groups. There is also a restaurant located inside the clubhouse called Jeffers, which I have never sampled on my one visit to the course, but I gather it is meant to be good quality! This course offers a professional club at more affordable prices, and that has to be applauded!

They sell any and all things golf in here, which is of course what all golf enthusiasts want. Clubs and golf balls, cases, wet gear, special spiky shoes (I don't really understand those ones) and even special jackets and trousers - although why you can't just play golf in your normal clothes is beyond me, it's not like you break a sweat. Hey ho, anyway this is a well run shop and well stocked with all you need for a good game of golf - not cheap though, but then again, all golf products are overpriced if you ask me.

I fall into this category and am often looking for some way to improve my game, and Golf centre is my first port of call. It contains everything a novice would need to get started and still has a good stock for the people who have been playing for a while. The staff are great with a huge knowledge of the best type of equipment for you. The suggested a new driver for me when I was looking for a new one and it has led to the biggest improvement to my game for a long time. I cannot recommend them enough.

I can't speak highly enough of the staff and committee at Cliftonville Golf Club. They allowed our…read morechoir to use their function room once a week for several years as a rehearsal space and asked nothing from us, so helpful and accommodating. The course itself is good from what I hear, but I'm no golfer so I can't vouch for that - the only thing I liked about caddying for my husband that one and only time was getting to drive the buggy! Anyway, the clubhouse is warm and friendly, and the downstairs bar staff never seem to mind us clamouring down to them during our rehearsal break to get a cold drink and a packet of crisps. They have a piano in their function room and a little stage and lots of tables and seating should you wish to hire it for a party or an event. The parking is good, although when the spaces run out you are forced to park on the Westland Road, which is mostly double yellow lines, so it can be a bit of a nuisance. All in all though, it's a nice venue if you are looking somewhere to hire for an event.

Basically I didn't like the 18 hole due to the layout and lack of trees (sound stupid) also it's very open and the wind affects the ball loads!
