He was open about costs, as well as possible risks and benefits to my decisions. He spent time prior to hearings reviewing my testimony and offered legal guidance. I had multiple hearings and felt prepared because of Michael's guidance and support. He was there by my side to answer questions and advocated on my behalf. He kept in touch with me via phone, email and fax to address legal documents, which required attention. In the end, I felt the legal advice I received was sound and allowed me to make educated decisions. I trust Michael's legal advice and have recommended him to friend's and acquaintances, looking for legal assistance. I will use Michael's services again should I need an attorney.

His general availability, flexibility, and genuine willingness make accomodations, in my opinion, demonstrates his wonderful work ethic and person-centered approach with his clients. He was there to provide guidance and support during the most frightening and distressing ordeal of my life. At the consult, Michael was up front about the costs. He did not create any sense of false hope nor speculate unpredictable possible outcomes, which I found refreshing. Communication was excellent as he is available through varying modes (call, text, e-mail.) Michael consistently provided prompt responses, detailed information, and transparent instructions throughout the progress of my case. Michael was patient with my many questions and concerns. He never made me feel rushed when we'd go over the expected time, or feel like any kind of inconvenience. Michael provided excellent assistance with revising and collaborating on the final written response. During the prepping/coaching sessions, he made sure I had ample time to learn & practice those skills to an appropriate comfort level. Michael accompanied me to the review panel. I was quite moved by his opening statement. He possessed sincerity and conviction in his words that displayed genuine support and belief in my case. My case was complex and the cards were seemingly stacked against me, yet in the end the Board fully dismissed every allegation in the case. Michael is genuinely motivated, passionate, and devoted to assisting nurses & others receive justice and fair treatment through his utilization of experience and intellect along with the consistent application of ethical practice. I would highly recommend Michael Weber, without hesitation.

I've been a client of MKE for over six years across multiple legal matters. They're some of the…read moremost strategic and capable attorneys I've come across, with a level of expertise in constitutional law that's hard to find. They've done what 99% of law firms never do: gone to the U.S. Supreme Court twice (and won both times). That alone speaks volumes. The atmosphere is very down-to-earth, and the whole firm is easy to work with. Greg Erickson (the "E" in MKE), especially, is a straight shooter with a blunt (but great) sense of humor. I've seen him depose defendants for hours on multiple occasions, and it's honestly like watching boxing and ballet in one breath--he's sharp, controlled, and incredibly quick on his feet. John (main paralegal) is like an encyclopedia of constitutional and municipal law--extremely detail-oriented, and Mary (Office Manager) keeps everything running smoothly. It's a boutique firm that runs on word-of-mouth reputation, not advertising. They represent everyone from large banks, corporations, and small business owners to cities, law enforcement, and prisoners. They also take on cases against cities and public officials, which says a lot about their depth and versatility. I want to comment on a recent negative review here from someone using the name "Turbine G." What this person describes does not line up with what I know about the situation. This individual ("Jay") was yelling profanities in the 8th Circuit courthouse that day--I know because I had a hearing there as well. In that context, if Greg advised him to stop acting like "a child," that is more than fair. Lawyers have to maintain professionalism in court--not just for their firm, but for their other clients (I certainly wouldn't want that kind of behavior affecting the judge's view of my case or the court's perception of MKE--would you?). More broadly, I know and respect the attorneys this reviewer criticizes. Greg is quick-witted, highly skilled, and deeply dedicated to his kids. Erick Kaardal is brilliant, kind, and clearly prioritizes his family. These are genuinely good people. As for the younger attorney, Elizabeth--who is also unfairly dragged in that review--I want to be clear: she did an outstanding job. In fact, in a separate case, a district court judge (who had previously presided over one of my own hearings) even wrote a letter to MKE commending her work. She's a young attorney with a very bright future. No law firm wins every case. Outcomes depend heavily on which judge you get and the specific circumstances. That doesn't take away from the quality of the legal work. And to be fair--I do agree with one thing the reviewer said: sometimes MKE drafts come close to deadlines. That's the reality of a busy, in-demand firm handling complex litigation. But what matters is how they show up when it counts. I've had John stay on the phone with me late into the night to make sure everything was accurate before a strict deadline. That level of commitment is rare. For further perspective, I'm a lifelong liberal, and the firm is known for having (mostly) conservative attorneys. It's never mattered. I've always gotten along super well with everyone there. There's a mix of political perspectives among both their staff and clients, and there's clearly mutual respect. It's worth noting that many of the negative reviews on Google don't come from actual clients, but instead appear to be from online trolls reacting to a few controversial cases--something that represents only a tiny fraction of the firm's overall work. Most satisfied clients don't leave reviews--they get what they need and move on. I only felt the need to write something after stumbling upon this person's review because it didn't match what I know or my experience. From my (real) experience as a client: if you want serious, high-level legal representation, this is exactly the kind of firm you want in your corner.

Unfortunately, I feel I am obligated to write this review to hopefully prevent others from going…read morethrough what we have with MKE. We have spent near half a million dollars with this firm to have only 1 meaningless court victory in 5+ years. My personal belief is MKE is more worried about what the judges, court and opposing lawyers think of them than what their client's outcomes are. Frankly, I have typically not left hearings with MKE at my side in which I felt I had a chance to win. Only once have I been comfortable with how MKE lawyers argued in court (out of dozens of hearings). I kept my mouth shut about my perceived incompetence of MKE lawyers over time in hopes that the facts would win out in our favor as we had nowhere else to go and were locked in with MKE. When I presented mild criticism to Greg Erickson (E from MKE) along with my opinion form observing that he and his lawyer both did a terrible job in federal court that day, he literally stated, "You are a child Jay. Elizabeth did an outstanding job" (You got that right, Erickson's response was to denigrate me instead of listen to what I said). Yet Elizabeth got hammered and lost so bad for my wife that MKE has refused to respond to any communications from me or my wife at this point. This includes our longtime attorney, and somebody I thought was a friend, Erick Kaardal (don't let Erick fool you with his stories and charm, he certainly appears to me to not be the good catholic he professes to be). No lawyer at MKE bothered to contact us to determine next steps after the loss, merely decided to shut us out (which certainly appears to be an ethical violation on their part). Further, we had a set fee of $255k for the entire litigation, and when MKE lost because of their own incompetence (not understanding they had to include arguments of why the claim was in federal court), MKE puts their hand put for more money even though they are the ones who screwed up. In fact, we even set up a basically unlosable lawsuit against the city, that MKE somehow seemed to piss down the toilet (because they refused to put forth the obvious facts that would most likely have swayed the judges). Finally, I have won more cases for myself pro se than MKE ever did for us, not even close. In my opinion, If you are looking for a high priced lawyer that does not put forth the arguments you want them to in court, waits until the last minute to get the paperwork done, gets scolded by the judge right in front of you for being excessively wordy, gets half the arguments right and half wrong in court, fails to defend your character when personally attacked over zoning issues, and, calls you names when you put forth some mild criticism of their efforts ... then MKE is your team!! I would suggest otherwise and to stay away.

I told the credit card company this but they said it was too bad. At the time I didn't know I would need a police report and now that I know more the person is dead. Even though I made all my monthly payments they increased the minimum amount due every month. After asking the credit card company repeatedly to work with me they told me if I couldn't make full payments to stop making payments all together. So I did. After the statute of limitations had run out they decided to sue me so I contacted this lawyer for assistance. He answered the phone and I explained I was being sued by a credit card company and needed assistance. He paused, let out a long sigh like he couldn't believe I was bothering him with my issue and said "okay? So may I ask how much you owe?" I told him the amount and he sighs again, then tells me I should just contact the attorney and just pay it outright or set up a payment plan if I can't do that. I tell him that's not what I'm looking for or why I called him, that I could have done that on my own and I explain the statute of limitations. He sighs again, pause, another sign. All I can think is seriously? Finally he says "the reason I pause is because with my fees and court costs it's going to be about the same amount of money even if you win." I tell him that I want to sue them because it's illegal what they are doing. Then, because he didn't even ask to begin with, I tell him the whole story about how this came about, everything that I have done fighting it for the last two years and how in every state, the state I opened the card, the state I live in now (Mn), and the state that the credit card company is in, have all passed the statute of limitations. I explain that the debt was created by someone else and I also tell him that I was sent a summons two years ago, which I fought and they let it lapse for over a year which negates the whole process, then they sent me another one which I fought again and now they are filing against me. He then seemed interested in my case but I told him that I didn't need a lawyer that wasn't going to believe me and would just blow me off like that. I told him to have a good day and hung up. I couldn't imagine being a lawyer where instead of listening to someone and then making a decision you just tell them to pay something and shut them down. Especially when that is how you make your money. No thanks.

I was shot in the left buttock while I was sleeping! Talk about a rude awakening??!!! The bullet hit 3 organs, my rectum, vagina and bladder. I required 2 major surgeries, a catheter for first 3 weeks and a colostomy bag, I named Lola, for 8 months. It was over a year worth of physical recovery with some residual bladder issues and ongoing emotional recovery from the trauma of a life changing experience. At the time this happened, I met with a couple of lawyers and was feeling extremely bummed out about the whole situation and truthfully, I had very little faith in attorneys and that they actually gave a damn about me as a person and what I was going through. Just as I was feeling I was done talking with attorneys, Pam Rochlin stopped by my house and everything changed. She was extremely kind to me and I could feel genuine empathy from her. I took Rochlin Law on for my case! Right before I was getting prepared to schedule my second surgery for colostomy take down, summer of 2020, Pam called me with extremely disappointing news. I'll never forget her voice while being told the claim had been denied by the home owner's insurance company. Pam assured me she'd do everything to find a way to fight the denial. I wasn't going to hold my breath and continued to remain positive, focusing on my upcoming surgery and recovery! I'm someone of immense faith, I had accepted my situation as part of my journey and I assumed Pam would give up on my case eventually, but I was so very wrong! She took the next couple of years to TRULY fight for me, meeting with a panel of attorneys, going above and beyond and finding any way to get me the payout that was deserved. Pam handed in the claim again earlier this year and this past summer 2022, the insurance company settled the claim, knowing they'd have Pam to face in court and she was not backing down without a fight!!! Even though Pam won for me by getting the Insurance Company to settle, she was apologetic she couldn't get me the full amount, but to me, who had accepted I might not get anything, she changed my whole world! The settlement allowed me re-start my life and Pam wholeheartedly fighting for me, restored my faith in attorneys and humanity in general. Pam was extremely kind to me and she genuinely FOUGHT for me to get what I deserved out of this unfortunate accident! I will be forever grateful to her and Rochlin Law for representing me with my case! I HIGHLY recommend working with Rochlin Law Firm, you will be made to feel like a human and you will have attorneys who actual fight for you! I named this chapter, "When I took it in the ass!" And if I have any advice for people in life, it's to "never take shit for granted, literally and metaphorically!" #WorldPeace
