Been a member for over 5years. Most staff is friendly, gum music changes up last year. You'd to be way better. Thankfully I bring my earbuds. Cleaning staff does amazing at cleaning equipment throughout the day. Cleaning staff is always friendly sometime friendlier then gym staff. Some members don't have gym edict. Cardio equipment usually needs maintenance or is out for a long time. Usually the stairs are the ones that have issues. Homeless like to camp out outside of gym, doesn't always feel so safe coming in super early or late due to the homeless around. Cars have gotten broken into during the day in the parking lot. Some sort of security would be nice. read more

I visited the Kennewick Gold's Gym today March 31, for the first time. I was using the pool facilities and couldn't help noticing that people were not wearing appropriate swim attire. Two girls were wearing shorts and T-shirts, but the real disgusting issue was one young man was in the steam room in his pajama pants and once they got soaked in sweat he stripped down to his boxer briefs (underwear). Plus he and another girl were rough housing. Needless to say I will not be going to the Kennewick gym again. They need staff to walk through occasionally and I don't just mean the cleaning lady who came through often while talking on her earbuds. Also there were groups of people just hanging around Not swimming, jacuzzi, steam or sauna. Why? read more

Lack of communication. The gym closed and no prior notice. Not the the gym's website or ever posted at the gym. The employees are not trained and the equipment is old and breaks down a lot. This could be a great place if they made an effort. read more

Golds gym is awful. I put my membership on hold because there is no Golds gym near the college I was going to. The gym informed me that if I canceled it would be 75 dollars so I asked to be put on hold instead. They let me know that the hold would last 6 months so I signed a physical paper, and payed my last month fee before the hold . After I came back from school I called to see why my account wasn't being charged and they told me that my account went into collections. Golds gym didn't call me, email me, or send me mail letting me know that they were canceling my membership prior before canceling . The gym didn't even try to charge out my account before making that decision. After talking to someone they let me know that the management at the gym lost the paper so there wasn't anything that they could do. Now there is a $233 charge for my account and they refused to help me with it. read more

My husband joined the gym to play raquetball. There is a racquetball court however every time we have gone someone is using it for nin racquetball purposes it. Spinning on their head, playing soccer. The lady employee there would not tell them to leave or go to the basketball court which no one was in. Why on earth do they call it a racquetball court when obviously they let anyone in there use it for what they want???? I love this gym. Wonderful variety of classes taught by talented teachers. This gym feels like family.

JP and I came here for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner workout. I was just amazed at how many people were in the gym on a holiday. This Gold's is essentially the same as the Richland Gold's with respect to equipment and design. Actually, I have to wonder if the designers of the Gold's gyms also designed Fred Meyer stores. The look is amazingly similar. The Kennewick gym is clean and modern with an excellent selection of aerobic machines and weights, though I'm not a big fan of Precor brand because their stuff seems a little clunky. My beef with the Precor Crosstrainer is that you have to push so many buttons to get going (though it is nice that each machine has its own television screen). It's not that I'm old and afraid of the digital age but I feel that sometimes analog controls can be easier than digital to use. Or at least, have separate areas of digital controls on the machine, so that you don't have to drill into so many menus to enter your settings. That centralized digital access turns me off. Here, let me give you another example. On my 90s Honda Civic, I simply have to push a button once to reset the trip odometer. But recently, when I had a loaner Civic and wanted to reset the odometer, it took seven clicks from the menu to accomplish that. Seven clicks. Ridiculous. That's one of the reasons I'm still driving that old Honda. Nonetheless, the Kennewick Gold's is an excellent gym, with a flexible and accommodating attitude towards out-of-town nonmembers. I will definitely return, even though Kennewick is a small town and I married into a family where the Kennewick branch has split into the feuding Hatfields and McCoys. When JP and I were at the gym, JP ordered me to not acknowledge a couple of cousins from the McCoy side of the family. Oh boy. read more

Worst gym I've ever joined. They sucker you in with their sleazy sales pitch, and gets you to join for a 1 or 2 year commitment, where they automatically deduct from your checking monthly. The gym was always crowded, you have to park far far away because it's a tiny location near one of the busiest streets in all of Kennewick. Worst part of all, they charged my Mom $500, FIVE HUNDRED dollars in fees by being deceptive when on her checking summary golds gym was listed as "GG" without telling us. We proceeded to talk to the gym manager, to work out our problems. We ended up calling another lady who was a customer service representative at the Richland gym, explaining our situation in a calm professional tone. So later on both me and my Mom go to the Kennewick to talk to Brent, I think that's the gym managers name and he accused ME of cursing out the lady at the Richland gym so they could get out of blame for the $500 they deceptively stole from us. I don't have any complaints about the staff or facility itself. It's the people that have memberships there that annoy me the most. What is the point in buying a huge cup of Starbucks coffee then drinking it while you are walking on the treadmill? Every time I go in I see this and almost throw up in my mouth. There are always older guys running around in wife beaters that are 2 sizes to small and almost see through because they are soaked in sweat. I do not wanna see this, no one wants to see this, if you have to wear a wife beater invest in one that is black please. Chicks in the Lady's Gold section: when you are done using weights or mats, put them back! So many people just leave them sitting out in the middle of the floor. Look, if this was easy, everyone would be skinny. Its hard. REALLY hard. And it takes a lot of disipline. Save your money and time and stay home if you are ready to completely restructure your life. Those that practice a lifestyle of staying fit disdain the months of January and February. As predictable as birds flying south for the winter or salmon swimming upstream to spawn their eggs, a sizeable population of people decided minutes before midnight on December 31 that they are going to overhaul their life and find the discipline to go to the gym. Noble gesture, I suppose. The gym is out of control now. If you want to workout from 5-7 Monday-Wednesday, plan on parking at Safeway. Here are some tips/suggestions/irritant reducing things to make your resolution come true. 1. Update your gym clothes. Just like regular clothes, there comes a point in which they become outdated. What you wore 10-15 years ago is ready to be cut into rags at this point. 2. Dont carry a water bottle. ESPECIALLY the really big ones that are commonplace here. This is the only gym Ive been to on earth were the members have a very real fear they are going to get dehydrated before they can make it to a water fountain. Very few of you are doing any real cardio anyway. I run 3 miles up an incline and I don't need one. 3. You dont need to wipe down cardio equipment if you didn't sweat. And 99% aren't willing to put in enough effort to sweat. 4. Abs are small muscles and cant be seen unless you have very low body fat. A very easy cost benefit analysis demonstrates that your time is better spent focusing on larger muscles. By the looks of 90% in there, the best use of your time is cardio. I was in Kennewick for one month for school/work, so I came here to get a membership. They offered me a 30 days for $30 student summer membership, which was an incredible deal. Great facilities, everything was new and in good condition. The only con is that the place was always busy during the times I went (6am and 6pm). This place seems to have a bad rap. But this is not what I've experienced in my last 5 months of membership. The staff is super friendly. And every time I've had a little problem finding something, or with a guest pass they have truly gone above and beyond to update it. I also trained with Tyler who was excellent. He helped me so much with my form and all my questions. I've lost 20 lbs, and feel amazing. It's always clean, though they could keep up more on machiene maintenance, there's so many machines that I just hop onto another. I love this gym. read more

I cannot remember the last time the first treadmill I touch worked. I have to try a second and third treadmill to find one that works. Mark them so that people don't go and clean them before the workout and find that it they don't work. 2 out of 3 paper towel dispensers are empty. read more

I hope the GM of this place does her establishment a favor, and gets rid of the main girl in the nursery. Because of her, I will never be coming back to the Kennewick Gold's Gym in my life. I don't do well with people who work in childcare AND customer service who don't have either skill. And then they expect me to leave my children with someone who is so nasty to other people, especially to the parents? No thanks. My kiddos got lice from their nursery, I know this for a fact because my kiddos are only 2 and 4 and stay with me 24/7. The gym is literally the only place they are watched by someone else. We had also JUST switched to Gold's two weeks prior to my kiddos getting lice, and my two older boys who are in elementary school, never caught it. It doesn't take rocket science to figure out where they got it from. I understand that it's not necessarily the nursery's fault, however, when I attempted to be a responsible parent in letting the girl in the nursery know that they need to be on the lookout, she immediately got defensive and told me it was impossible that my kids caught it from there. No. No ma'am. It's not impossible. Either a parent doesn't know that their child has lice OR someone's child had lice and the parent failed to tell anybody. My report basically got completely dismissed as if I had no idea what I was talking about and there was zero concern from the girl. Thankfully, I went to a secondary person who worked within the gym, and she took it extremely seriously. This wasn't my first rude encounter with this individual in the nursery, but it will be the last because I will never return because of her. read more

Finally when I decided to take my paper and leave the man in the front said and I quote "you can't leave with that in your hand" I then responded, well it has my personal information on it and no longer wish to disclose that with this company. He said and again I quote "leave it here, you can't take it" so I then asked him what he would do with it. He told me he would shred it. I have talked to the sales people at Golds 3 times since they opened. Every time I get a once in a lifetime sale and have to act right now. It's like buying a used car; I hate that crap so I'm out the door. I finally decided to join and went back and lucky me, received a once in a lifetime deal. I gave them my credit card and they have you sign on an electronic key pad like most stores. When I got to the car I noticed they did not put a copy of my credit card receipt in the information packet. I went back in and asked for it, what I got was a 2 page contract with my name on the bottom. I unknowing gave the permission to run my credit card again next year and another $ 25 in February. I have only been a member 2 days, and I think I will like the place but I already do not trust them and if I find something else, I'm out of there read more

All the equipment and space you need plus great classes. Some times this location can be quite busy, but I avoid going at peak hours and rarely feel crowded. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable which I didn't expect. Pretty great especially for the low membership price. read more

Eric L --is an AMAZING trainer!!! I came in 8 weeks before my wedding and told Eric I would do whatever it takes to get fit fast. I took care of the nutrition and he met with me for 8 sessions. Every time I went I was challenged and surprised and what I could do. Eric is very knowledgeable and he really understood what I wanted to do and delivered. I lost 6.8 % body fat in 8 weeks. I know ppl kind of freak about the cost of personal training but it's PERSONAL and you get Results. They sell packages and it's totally worth it if you have goals you need help crushing! Now, the reason I gave the gym 4/5...compared to Richland it's small and can't offer the trx/crossfit/hot yoga. Also the not all the desk staff are friendly. I wish that they could better coordinate with Richland promotions-supposedly they're owned by the same person, but it's obvious there's some drama on the Kennewick side. In conclusion, trainers are great and so is the facility. It's a great place! read more

DO NOT ATTEND THIS GYM Worst gym I have ever dealt with. Being a gym-goer for all my adult life, its hard to really make me hate a gym. There is not much about this gym I like. I gladly paid the $100 early termination fee for my 1 year contract. I moved back to the Tri-Cities about 10 months ago. I knew right away I wanted to join Gold's. I was eager to pay the extra $76 for a training program as well WHERE I ONLY MET UP WITH A TRAINER ONCE A MONTH. It must me good- one would think. I was only disappointed. Apparently even the Trainers hated it there...I went through 3 "personal trainers" during my 6th months because they quit...It didn't end up being very personal OR helpful. I can learn WAY more from online sources, which are free. I was unhappy with the front desk, the cleanliness, the fact that many of the machines were under repair, the parking lot. If you are looking to join a gym you enjoy, look elsewhere. I would not recommend Gold's Gym in Kennewick to anyone. read more

Went to 4 different elyptical machines before I found one that worked properly! Many seat pads are cracked on machines; weight machines stick when lowering weights, they get very few TV channels to watch, just plain bad place! I have always went to the Golds in Richland and am shocked at the difference in gyms by location. Golds Kennewick is dirty, the equipment is always broken down, it's ghetto and hard to find parking because the gang bangers loiter in the parking lot all hours of the night. I go to Golds and when I was first signing up, the staff was very nice and helpful and I enjoy the gym. The classes are good, but packed and they have a lot of equipment. This review is about an encounter I had with a specific employee of their gym. I had two memberships. One was my boyfriends and it was $30 a month I was wasting because he was not using it and he wasnt paying me for it. So i decided to sell it on craigslist. I had an offer and called to gym to get the details on how to sell the membership and transfer it to someone elses name. They told me only one particular person there does the transfers, lets call her Kathy. Okay so Kathy told me what I needed to do to sell the membership and said I needed an appointment with her. We set up an appointment at the Richland location. I arrived at the Richland location to meet the person who was buying my membership and Kathy. Their temporary gym is small and not a lot of waiting space. So they sat me at a desk to wait. Other staff there was friendly and chatting with me. When the person buying my membership got there, I went and sat by him at a tall table on stools. We waited and waited. Now I had an appointment with Kathy at 4:30. When I arrived, I told the receptionist I had an appointment with Kathy. It was getting close to 4:30 so she called Kathy to see where she was. She said she would be there in 5 to 10 minutes. Okay I give her that, she's coming from Kennewick. Anyways, please note that the receptionists all knew I was there to meet with Kathy. I was sitting there with the guy waiting and waiting like I said. Now remember I have never met this lady so I don't know what she looks like. Finally at about 4:50 she showed up. Again, I did not know what she looked like. I was sitting away from the front door at a table and she was by the front door at the reception. I'm sure the receptionist told her the person sitting at the table (me) was the person she was supposed to be meeting. She did not come and introduce herself or say "Hi are you, so and so?" Instead, from across the room she so rudely says, "I can help you now." Then, "You are waiting for me aren't you?" UMMMMMMMMM Ive never met the chick how am I supposed to know if I'm waiting for you? If you had proper customer service skills maybe I would know that you are, in fact, Kathy. So we go to the front reception desk. We dont sit at a desk to do this transfer. No. Me and the guy stand in front of the reception desk while Kathy crouches down at the front reception computer doing the little switcheroo. Um, okay? Can we say "professional"? She did the switch to this guys debit card for the membership. No chat with us how we are, or anything, I mean we are just paying members of your stupid gym. Finally it was almost over. She says to me "Well, I forgot my receipts so can I mail you one?" Okay? I thought this was your job? I thought this was your specialty at Golds gym? I had been inquiring about selling my membership for acouple weeks and every time I was told this Kathy lady was the ONLY person who did this. Why would she forget her receipts? Whatever, i Gave her my address so she could send me a receipt, proof I am no longer paying for this membership. This happened about a month, month and a half ago. I have yet to recieve my receipt in the mail from her. Golds Gym, you have a doozie of a person working for you. NOT professional, NOT friendly at ALL. I feel bad to give the Kennewick Gold's such a low score, however; I've never had any great experiences there. My trainer could've cared less about me (he doesn't work there anymore) and the younger members of the staff are always rude to me. This Golds is closer to my house but I like the Richland one better. I swim and the Kennewick gym pool isn't really monitored from the teenagers messing around in the pool taking up an entire lane just talking. The pool and bathrooms aren't as clean in Kennewick as they are in Richland.... the odor alone is a giveaway. read more
