My new favorite firework store! I decided to do a little road trip from Vegas on July 4th and Goldfield Fireworks was my destination. I'm so glad I did it! My visit to Goldfield Fireworks and chatting with Ed and Bob was the highlight of my week! Here I am the next day still excited about my visit, counting the days till I can go back! This will be a long review, and it's 100% real. I was given nothing for it, but a great experience. Don't let the size of the store fool you, while it's smaller than more commercial firework stores, Goldfield Fireworks packs a bigger punch and you get more bang for your buck! Quality over quantity! Their prices are insane in the best way possible. I've been going to firework stands and shops my whole life, I've never seen prices so cheap/fair. They don't do any of the usual scam crap you'll see at other stores like sales and BOGO, when we all know the prices are just raised. Nope! Just fair prices right off the bat, no BS! Once they set the prices, they leave them for the whole year, no raising the prices for Holidays like some other places do! Nobody likes July 4th price gouging! When I mentioned the low prices, they told me they believe fireworks should be available to everybody to enjoy, regardless of their budget. You shouldn't have to sacrifice food, rent or anything else for some firework fun. Are you a kid with a budget of $15? They have a set of 4 ariel cakes (shoot in the sky, not fountains) that will fit in that budget with a few bucks left over! Family with a $50 budget? Well you got yourself a great firework show with that $50! Seriously, the prices are insane. I spent $45 there and had more firework shoot time than when I've spent $200 at other places in the past (which I now regret and know better). They also have brands I've never seen before, hard to find and high-quality brands. Like Pyro King and can I just say HOLY CRAP! I got a $12, 8 Shot Pyro King cake and it broke with a bang like a set of $60 shells elsewhere. Ed and Bob were a breath of fresh air. They truly enjoy what they do, they are like passionate kids at heart when it comes to fireworks, and they just want to share that passion and joy with as many people as possible. I chatted with them for a good 30 minutes and learned a lot too! Not only did they answer my questions, they pulled all their racks out and showed me how I could build my own. Customer service is next level! They don't even treat you like customers, they treat you like a friend the second you walk in. Their faces light up when talking about fireworks, they are the epitome of "do what you love." It's infectious! Honestly, I just want to chat with them and go launch fireworks off with them! Their excitement and positivity would probably light the area up more than the fireworks! Seriously people. Make the drive out there, they will tell you where to shoot them near town year-round! Maybe it's a little bit of a longer drive than some places but trust me when I say it's worth it! Go look at their prices on their website, then compare with other shops, you'll see the difference. Oh, and many places don't share their prices online but there are YT videos and reviews with photos.... You'll see the price gouging that goes on elsewhere. Thank you Ed and Bob! I was sent off to Tonopah for a work project that happened to fall on the fourth of July. When in Rome, cue Goldfield Fireworks. My co-worker and I nervously pulled up to a residential neighborhood and checked our map to truly make sure we were at the right place. The sight of other people returning to their vehicles with bags full of fireworks cleared us of any uncertainty on that front. Two gentlemen came out to greet us and guide us through the available options in the metal garage adjacent to a home. This was my first time buying fireworks, and I bought about 50 sparklers in varietals I did not know existed...neon, gold, et. al. My co-worker, clearly disappointed in me, purchased a slew of "real" fireworks that would not be featured at the end of a wedding, or are typically wielded by young children. Each item was neatly organized with clear labels and fair pricing (so far as I assume for fireworks), and we chatted with the owners for a bit about our plans for the evening. We were given some tips about the fireworks in Goldfield that evening; the most important being the fact that you, under the supervision of the Fire Department, are permitted to BYOF to the town park if you would like to set off your faves legally. They threw in a few extra "Shazams" with our purchase (REMEMBER THIS NAME AND BUY AS MANY OF THESE AS YOU CAN), and we were off after a quick credit card payment on an iPad. We had a blast setting those puppies off in a baby playa nearby, featuring my blissful/maniacal laughter as I ran across the dark, empty void of the night shooting off roman candles. We cleaned up our messes and vowed to do it all again sometime. A special note that rolling into Goldfield, the phone number for this shop is listed on a few handwritten signs that just say "FIREWORKS". On a whim on the way out of town, my co-worker called the number and spoke with the owner, who happened to be in Vegas and thusly unavailable for further firework procurement that day. He was incredibly apologetic, and texted us after the call to tell us that he would be returning that evening and would be happy to meet up at 11pm. I loved this dedication to help us out, so I would suggest giving him a jingle if you have pre-meditated fire displays in mind for your evening and are unsure of the hours. I will be back next weekend to create my second sampler platter. read more
