Revised Trust Documents: We wanted to establish a trust for my husband and I needed to update my trust. We had previously contacted another firm by phone and was disappointed with their responses. We found Goldfarb & Luu and we were extremely impressed with the information they provided by phone. The employees who answered the phone answered our questions and were knowledgeable, and friendly. They walked us through the process and explained how we would work with the lawyers. We received a email with a video discussing the many issues we needed to include in our trusts. We received Homework to complete such as what are our memorial arrangements, names of doctors, allergies, specific gifts we would like to give to family. Most important were things like quality of life, what would we like if we were placed in a home. We're impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of both lawyers and the knowledgeable employees, and the invaluable guidance we received from this law firm. We especially enjoyed how personable and thorough Rebecca and Dinh were in executing our two Trusts! We highly recommend this firm they are experts at handing Living Trusts. read more

Rebecca Goldfarb created an estate plan for my wife and me. Her guidance was extremely helpful. We never would have considered everything we eventually covered. The cost was very reasonable. A few years ago Dinh Luu helped me administer an estate. Her advice was invaluable, the cost was very reasonable. What sets Goldfarb and Luu apart is how warmly they treat clients. They are both lovely, kind and thoughtful. Everyone we've met in their office is also wonderful. It's like getting legal services from long lost family members who happen to be lawyers. read more

G&L recently assisted my family & I in getting a Family Trust Deed & Healthcare Directive. The staff at G&L were very nice & patient in explaining things to my parents who speak & understand very little English. Trust Deeds can become stressful but G&L made the process smooth. Everything was done with a combination of zoom meetings, emails and in-person meetings. The whole process took less than a month. This is the 2nd time we do business with G&L as they also assisted my wife & I in adding my wife to our house deed. I highly recommend this firm if you are looking for people that care, responsive, knowledgeable & most importantly reasonably priced in this current economic environment. Thank you G&L! We appreciate you very much! read more

I'm so glad I found Goldfarb & Luu. My dad's estate plan was several decades old and very convoluted, and Goldfarb & Luu helped us make sense of it all and create a new, updated trust. From our first meeting, Rebecca impressed us as warm, kind and a highly competent attorney. She, Dinh, their paralegal Michelle, and other staff members responded to our questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner. When my dad passed away a couple of years later, I contacted Goldfarb & Luu again for their assistance with the trust administration. They were with me every step of the way. I highly recommend them for all of your estate planning needs. read more

Rebecca Goldfarb and Dinh Luu were very helpful in navigating us through our needs in estate planning. Rebecca started the process by asking us questions and guiding us on a step-by-step basis. Dinh worked at closing after we had reviewed our initial draft of the documents and confirmed with us our needs and we made changes on a couple of points. The team approach was refreshing to ensure our key requests were met. I highly recommend Goldfarb & Luu to prepare your estate planning. read more

There are a handful of negative reviews here that leave me absolutely puzzled. All my interactions with Dinh Luu and the staff at Goldfarb & Luu have been nothing but professional, knowledgeable and, most importantly, caring. Without getting into too many details, Ms. Luu has been instrumental in helping me navigate a tricky estate and caregiving situation. Her prudence and foresight have allowed me shore up the legal side of the equation so I can focus solely on providing the best care to my loved one. These end-of-life situations are fraught with deep and often uneasy emotions. I cannot stress what a relief it is to have her firm's support. read more

BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!! BEWARE!!! Please read this review in its entirety if you are considering this firm to handle any estate planning documents or advocate for you in court. I consider this review to serve as public service announcement because I was introduced to this firm through a seminar with a nationally recognized public service, non-profit organization. My mother retained the services of this firm after hearing Rebecca's presentation at a trusted organization. She had one meeting with Rebecca to get the ball rolling & was introduced to Dinh because an internal meeting resulted in new options to advocate in court. After those initial meetings we never spoke with Rebecca or Dinh again. Care for Client: A few days later she gets an email from a new attorney Sarah. NO warm-hand off from Dinh, or a summary of Sarah's background. From the same firm that says you are a part of a "family". I think she deserved an explanation on why Dinh passed her off on Sarah when she proactively reached out to her to handle the court piece. Legal Documents: Legal agreement constructed by Sarah, contained instructions, I am assuming from a publisher,  and was sent to my mom. It read: "[It may be desirable to be more detailed in identifying the arbitration mechanism, or it may be preferable to preserve the option of jury or court trial for the client.]" my mom is the client. She's paying for legal expertise and you are sending her attorney instructions on how to complete the agreement. And, it was sent without a strategy meeting to discuss the pros and cons of using it. It was mentioned it as an option in passing. Billing Issues: Multiple payments were made to Dinh's business email address. Yet, two different employees who handled billing in the office did not credit them on the invoices. I emailed Dinh and she resolved the first issue. I requested a full accounting of the retainer funds 2x. Amelie in their office stated that we left their firm "because were unhappy with the court outcome" and the fees were earned because we had a draft of the trust. The trust could not be drafted until after the court modification. Services were terminated almost immediately after court & receipt of publisher instructions on a legal document. Court Representation: The court filings were redundant. Judge called that out in the hearing. On more than one occasion they were rushed. For example, Sarah would call around 1pm to notify me of an email for my mother to sign with the expectation to send it back within a few hours. I served as tech-support for my 82-year old mother at her request. Lastly, Sarah mentioned our judge was new to probate and unpredictable. Well, I looked her up. She went to Harvard Law, practiced in the area for 7+ years, Duke Undergrad,  been on the bench for 7 years, served as expert witness, and was accepted into ACTEC. Please google ACTEC. Distinguished organization for top practicing attorneys, with skill, writings, teachings, with aim to improve and reform probate, tax trust laws, procedures etc. Does any of that read "new" to you? In my opinion, Sarah told her that to lower the expectations and deflect from the fact that our case did not meet the burden for probate. How do I know this? The judge said so in the hearing.   Timing of Notices: Hearing Notices to opposing party were sent out 6 months prior to the hearing when 30 days is required. In my opinion, this gave them advance time to prepare a fight. Especially when they intentionally missed the hearing and did not have counsel to notify them. There is so much more to say but these sites do not allow for the room. But, it will be in other complaints to governing agencies. RUN!!! DO NOT WALK FROM THIS FIRM. My mother is 82-years old. She has me. A bull, so my mom will be okay. She chose new counsel. But, I felt compelled write this factual account to speak up because they work with seniors. Many of which  may not have a bull on speed dial. And they are actively marketing their services through non-profit, public advocacy organizations. I've spoken to other members of my group and they had complaints too. Ironically different and I have encouraged them to come forward too. read more

Goldfarb & Luu have crafted four trusts for me; one for my wife and me, one for our son and his wife, one for our daughter, and one for a daughter-in-law. In every instance, we have been more than satisfied with the result. My wife and I are now in our '80s and looking at needed updates in our estate plan. We have had nothing but good experiences with the people there. read more

Had phone consultation with atty RGoldfarb. She was informative and was reassuring she would review my trust in process. I felt hopeful. Rebecca told me she'd contact me next day or two. However I hadn't received a response two days or a week later. I decided to leave message, I requested another consultation, also wrote a review expressing concerned disappointment. Would you trust or feel comfortable relying on attorneys who don't return phone calls as expected? Is a heat wave, outage, staffers being out explanation quality professionalism? Doubtful?? read more

For the life of me, I don't know how this company had so many good reviews. Goldfarb & Luu in general have nice people working for them. There was only one time that nobody answered the phone. I am not happy with the scheduling and the non responses to a key question: why can't it update my trust and suggested that I start from scratch . I can't move forward with their 'comprehensive estate planning '. I settled my account and bailed out. When I got the invoice, I was a bit shock to see the billable, itemized expense. Some answer by Rebecca was charged 0.1 hour or $52.50. Other answered by a paralegal $29.50. 6 minutes costs $52.50 !!! 0.1 hour is the smallest unit so if it takes an attorney 1 minute to answer an email , it will still be $52.50 !!!! I went with a paralegal ( The Document People ) nearby. Getting to their office is a breeze. Parking is 5 steps behind their office. It was able to update my existing trust for $399.00, which is a fraction of cost of their ''comprehensive estate planning' for $5900.00. Before I went with the paralegal, I called 2 other trust attorneys suggested by Fidelity Investment. They all quoted $3500.00 to $6000 but I should be at the lower end because I don't own much. Obviously I went with the paralegal. I do want to thank you Rebecca and her team for their professionalism. I only write this review to inform the readers there are others, possibly better options. read more

I highly recommend Goldfarb & Luu !! I had an Elder Law court case and won. These Lawyers know the Law deeply and protected my interests efficiently effectively and with a positive result. Hard to find quality representation that produces results. Thank you to the team at G&L. Bravo ! read more

After our estate planning attorney of over 30 years retired, it took me more than 18 months to find someone I felt actually cared about what my family was trying to accomplish. I interviewed seven estate planning firms before I found Goldfarb & Luu. The best most attorneys could offer was a standard fill in the blanks form with a few added provisions. Most of the attorneys I discussed our restatement with couldn't manage a Special Needs Trust we needed, or be bothered adding provisions for the care of our pets. A few attorneys gave what sounded like solid information to us, only to contradict themselves in our next conversation. It was a long search, but without the other firms to compare Goldfarb & Luu to I never would have appreciated what an extraordinary group of people they are or appreciated the amazing, very personal, services they offer. Please don't look any further, these people are the real deal! read more

I was introduced to Goldfarb and Luu through a workshop regarding how to deal with my wife's Alzheimer's and the galloping dementia overtaking her. I was very much impressed with the presentation Rebecca made to our "Memory Matters" group. She, of course, addressed all the items I had thought of, but went way beyond the limits of my knowledge in addressing issues that never occurred to me. Since the attorney who had crafted our original trust had retired, I decided to engage Goldfarb and Luu to rewrite our trust and to advise me of all the complications attending my wife's impending incompetence. I realized how many things needed to be put into place while my wife was still competent to assent to them. When the work began, I was pleased to find that Dinh Luu was as insightful and compassionate as Rebecca. They both went beyond just the legalities to understand our personal and familial concerns and feelings. They were wonderful to work with, guiding me through the whole process. Ever available, I received rapid replies to my emails and phone calls. The teleconferencing was especially helpful as we tried to navigate the restrictions that the Covid pandemic had imposed on us. Every good thing that I had thought was confirmed when my wife and I finally went to their office to sign the final papers. Without hesitation, I would recommend - and have recommended - their firm to others. Foremost among them was my brother's widowed wife, who needed a lot of things done and some things undone. She is as pleased with both the relationship and the results as I have been. Legal services are expensive; legal services and personal concern are worth more than they cost. Goldfarb and Luu is a good investment. read more

Positioned themselves as a full-service practice at a critical time when I was moving my mom from out of state to be better able to take care of her. Every one of their "specialists" knew nothing about their supposed subject area, except to refer me to other for pay professionals outside the practice. Then, when I would ask the questions the practice couldn't answer, they would tell me that that was something that the practice should have been able to answer for me. Literally got more value out of the utterly free services from the retirement community center around the corner from my apartment. Also blew through $600 of the $1,000 retainer and literally produced nothing of any substance. And had the gall to tell me that the complete, straightforward, out of state estate documents I had and just needed to be brought into compliance with California law would have to be completely redone from scratch because of one missing addendum of absolutely no consequence. Do not recommend. read more

Spoke with the attorney for a free consultation for my father who is in a coma and wanted to know how to take care of his medical decisions and assets/debts. She basically told me what I had to do over the phone as a part of the free consultation. She didn't ask for this review but She deserves it. Great advice, didn't charge me a cent and was very clear about what I needed to do. In my opinion, She is as honest and helpful as they come. We needed someone to help us navigate the (potentially murky) process of estate planning -- and Goldfarb and Luu went above and beyond our expectations. The Goldfarb and Luu team provided 5 star plus service to me along with compassion and excellent, responsive communication during a time of grief and stress. From my initial contact with their warm and friendly office manager, Marla Simon, I knew that they were the team I needed to help me with my legal issue. Dihn Luu did an excellent job explaining the legal issues, process and anticipated fees at the time of our initial consultation and her associate Leeor Bolour did a terrific job of assisting with the court process and staying in regular communication with me. Billings were regular and easy to understand and my opinion is that the legal fees, which were transparent and explained to me in advance of signing the clearly written agreement and paying the retainer, were fair and reasonable given the expertise, responsiveness, efficiency and results from the Goldfard and Luu team. The kindness and concern from everyone at this firm felt genuine and were a great comfort during a time of extreme grief. I will always be grateful for the help they provided. I highly recommend Goldfarb and Luu. read more

I have used G&L for several things (trust set up for myself, trust set up for my ex-husband, trust set up for my children and finally trust administration for a deceased family member's estate). They go above and beyond for me, had my back every single step of the way for the trust administration (and we had some pretty ballsy beneficiaries trying to steer the ship but Rebecca and Dinh were not having that), and were sending me emails and communicating with me even way past office hours (think 2am, all because I simply was sending a response at that time but in no way expected them to reply until the next business day). I would recommend them to anyone who needs T&E legal advice, support and trust set up. They think of everything and are very straightforward and will tell you what is required, legal, appropriate, etc. Will continue to use them throughout the remainder of my lifetime! read more

Goldfarb & Luu have been an essential asset in estate planning for our family. They have always been responsive and have gone the "extra mile", especially during times of need and grief. When my husband passed away unexpectedly, I discovered I was left with a incredible mess. Not only was I left with financial worries, but I found his family's Trust, which he was Trustee of, was left without legal matters being resolved and organized. Literally, all of the paperwork was thrown into boxes in his office closet and in the garage., I had no idea where to start, nor had I ever been privy to his family's affairs. So, after months and months of sorting papers, and filing them appropriately, I sought legal help. After dealing with two lawyers, who cost me thousands, yet failed to resolve any of the critical issues I faced, I made mention to my financial advisor the problems I was having getting help with my situation. Gratefully, they referred me to Goldfarb and Luu. Rebecca and Dinh, along with their staff, have been terrific. They jumped into the deep end, managing to get my web of an estate mess untangled and resolved! Both are so professional, bright, knowledgeable, supportive, and compassionate. Their entire staff is terrific as well. To coin a phrase, "They are worth their weight in gold!" I am confident my estate has been in A+ hands. Happily my estate will be far easier and clean cut for my heirs to deal with. No matter where I move to, Goldfarb and Luu will remain my estate lawyers. I have directed my Successor Trustee of my Trust (son) to use their guidance. Thank you Rebecca and Dinh for all you have accomplished for me! read more

Our experience with Rebecca Goldfarb and Dinh Luu and their team has been excellent. My wife and I wanted to have estate documents updated. Rebecca gave us a comprehensive overview of their process (including various videos and informational documents) and what to expect including the information we needed to provide. As part of their process we considered a number of scenarios to make sure nothing was overlooked. Once our information was gathered, Dinh met with us to explain the final documents making sure we understood everything before the final document signing. We look forward to working with Goldfarb & Luu for our future estate planning needs. read more

A friend of mine recommended Goldfarb & Luu when I needed to do some estate planning, and I couldn't be happier with their service. I was nervous going in because I had recently been put in charge of some family affairs and had never done any estate planning prior to this. From my first consult with Rebecca to the final signing of my paperwork, I felt taken care of and supported. Rebecca, her partner Dinh, and the rest of the team (Jessica, Marla, Michelle), provided timely communication and much appreciated flexibility. I have a very hectic schedule and it often takes me a minute to get to certain to dos in my life, so it took me a bit longer to finish my plan. Rebecca provided me with a comprehensive timeline based on my own schedule with which to finish my plan, and when I fell behind she would send gentle reminders to help me get back on track. All of our meetings took place on Zoom and I only had to visit the office once in order to sign my paperwork. They also understand that estate planning can be stressful (it's always difficult to think about and plan for one's death), and they provided me with a lot of processing time so I could come up with the best plan for me and my family. I'm a single mother, which is often a hard thing to navigate in these legal spaces, and not once did they make me feel uncomfortable about my situation. Rebecca was so understanding when it came to my unique situation when deciding future arrangements for my young daughter. I've been in similar legal situations where I've been talked down to by lawyers (mostly male), and that was never my experience here. I'm so grateful I found this wonderful firm and I highly recommend them for all estate planning needs. read more

I am a wage and hour lawyer in Los Angeles. I reached out to Din Luu on Yelp and she called me back to discuss a probate/trust legal issue that was way over my head. It was clear Ms. Luu knows her stuff backwards and forwards. She talked through my (to me very complicated) situation and easily analyzed the statute of limitations, steps to take, pros/cons of approaches, strategies, etc. Despite being very generous with her time, she did not ask for any compensation. I felt the least I could do was to leave this review sharing my experience with Ms. Luu. I hope to contact Ms. Luu in the future and retain her services if/when my situation develops further. read more
