If you're considering this school for cosmetology, aesthetics, or barbering, please take this as a serious warning. This place is run by a woman who clearly doesn't care about their students' education. In my opinion, she's a con artist and a complete waste of time. She'll tell you everything you want to hear to get you to enroll, then proceed to waste your time and money.
Let's start with the lies she will tell potential students. She will tell you that you will receive access to a "virtual learning platform." However, you'll quickly discover that there are no virtual courses offered and no online platform even exists. This is blatant fraud, and she's willingly committing it against the U.S. government by accepting funding and charging the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs for services that she does not offer.
The only thing you'll get from this woman are some textbooks and you will basically have to teach yourself everything. There's virtually no instruction, and you won't learn anything of value. To make matters
worse, the owner has absolutely no consistency with her schedule. She opens the doors whenever she feels like it and doesn't stick to any agreed-upon schedule. Again, it's a complete waste of your time and
money and you will never obtain a license because they will do everything to prevent you from having any kind of success with this program. Also, let me also add that she and her daughter attended Paul Mitchell for their professional training, but are willing to cheat and scam other vulnerable students who are seeking a quality education. The owner and her daughter would have never attended the kind of sham scam school that they are running.
If you're thinking about the "Aesthetics" program, run far, far away. Her daughter is supposedly the instructor, but she's not involved in the program at all and clearly doesn't care. She doesn't show up and
provides no actual teaching. Again, the only thing that you will get from them are books and worthless worksheets, and practically no meaningful hands-on instruction. Please understand that you will never be able to obtain your license this way. Also, the owner will lie to you and tell you that she has a "director" and that there are other "instructors" at Golden Touch Academy and this is also a lie. The owner is the only one running this scam operation, which disguised as a "school".
This is a complete scam, especially because the owner is accepting government funds under false pretenses. She's ripping off vulnerable students who are genuinely trying to improve their lives and
obtain a cosmetology license. I will be reporting them to the U.S. Department of Education and the Texas
Department of Licensing. read more
