We needed two separate backup generators, one for our house and one for our shed. We worked with Tyler from Golden Spike to figure out which sizes we needed, and which model best suited our requirements. Once we made the decision to move forward, Tyler made things very simple: we plunked down a deposit, and he took care of the rest. This past week the generators arrived, and Tyler and his crew poured a concrete pad for one of them, got our propane tanks plumbed up to each, and did all the electrical work to attach the generators to the automatic transfer switches, and the switches into our existing electrical systems. That involved a lot of wiring, a lot more than I expected! Last night the work was completely finished. Both generators were tested and now we're completely protected from electrical power outages. Hooray! We couldn't be happier with the quality of the job Golden Spike did for us. All of the materials are top-notch, the workmanship careful and beautifully done, and the people exceptionally nice even by the high standards of northern Utah niceness :) I have a background in electrical engineering myself, and even though my experience is not with systems like these, it's obvious to me that the work done here was at the high end of what you'll ever see with electrical construction. The work wasn't entirely electrical, I should note: they did an equally beautiful job on the concrete pad, and their plumbing subcontractor did on the gas plumbing as well.
