I was very dismayed during my first visit with the doctor. My concerns were disregarded. This…read moredoctor furthermore was condescending toward me as the patient and focused her attention upon my support system. I was additionally led to believe that the practice focuses on the nervous system as Chiropractors. My diagnosis from Dr. Blackwell of Cleveland Clinic provided a diagnoses of Piriformis Syndrome (rightG57.01) - Acute Right side. Prior to the second visit I was led to believe there would be an adjustment within this office, that did not occur as I was referred to another Chiropractor that "she does a lot of business with" and I have a witness. She was additionally pushing for an MRI for self pay that I would have to sign up for. These remarks of an MRI were disturbing as I do not have health insurance until July. I, again brought my support system, whom is my partner/boyfriend to this second appointment today 06/09/2026. I was disrespected as she directed much of her attention and explanations to him rather than to me. Her actions were inappropriate, as I expected information regarding MY health treatment to be communicated DIRECTLY to me. This experience left me unheard, disregarded and fully dissatisfied with the care I received. While I understand I signed an ROI, that not does mean that the doctor should direct all of the care, while face-to-face, with the concerned patient, treatment as well as further follow up to my partner/boyfriend as I am very well equipped, intellectually to comprehend the diagnoses. With all of the above being stated, this entire experience was absolutely insulting, full of disappointment and a hinder toward encouraging positive healing, health and well-being.

Last Friday I went for my first appointment at Summit Acupuncture. I am a long time sufferer of…read moremigraine headaches and I decided to give acupuncture a shot (not pun intended lol). I came across Summit Acupuncture while searching for a local practitioner, and I am so grateful to have found it. First of all,Kirsten Van Nostran, the Clinical Director was so incredibly professional, yet equally warm and kind during my initial workup. She patiently and attentively listened to me as I described my concerns and medical history, and she took the time to explain the potential benefits of acupuncture and how my overall health and wellbeing may serve to benefit from the treatment. The treatment room was clean and at the same time, it was relaxing. After explaining the placement of the thin needles and what would happen, Kirsten dimmed the lights and allowed me to relax for 30 minutes while I listened to soft music and closed my eyes. She came in a few times to check in on me, and I took the time to take a short nap as the needles did their magic. Afterwards, Kirsten came back with some reading material on acupuncture and we discussed my plan, which includes 6 weekly sessions, followed by a reevaluation based on my progress. The rest of the afternoon, I was so incredibly relaxed that I could barely stay awake or upright. I came home after running a few errands and then took the rest of the afternoon and evening easy. I would suggest not planning a busy day after your first treatment because you may also experience something similar. The prices are extremely reasonable, despite the fact that insurance does not generally cover acupuncture as a part of traditional healthcare plans. Their website is also very informative and will give you all sorts of additional information about the services offered, which include massage. I look forward to continuing my treatment plan, since I have already experienced less migraines this past week.

For one of my concerns, she recommended me to a massage therapist who would be more appropriate and has expertise in this area of concern. This gave me confidence in Shannon's approach. I had no previous experience with a chiropractor, I was certain it was going to be painful, but I was at the end of my rope and couldn't get any help from the emergency room or regular medical doctor. Muscle relaxers and pain meds couldn't touch the pain I was in. (Pills, injections and patches) Dr Mitch got me in right away, took x-rays, took a detailed history. After reading the Xrays, he started adjusting me. The adjustments DID NOT HURT and by time he was done with my first adjustment, I was mostly pain free, standing straight and walking fine. I couldn't believe what a difference it made; how much better I felt! By the end of the week I was a new person. If I didn't experience it myself, I wouldn't have believed it! I continue to see him for general maintenance; painful feet, ankles, knees, shoulders, pinched nerves; if I tell him something is bothering me... BOOM, he fixes it; not even exaggerating. Most of the time it's IMMEDIATE RELIEF!!! (Without drugs) I've been dealing with back issues since I was a teenager. (I'm 48 now) Medical doctors, surgeons, braces, medications... ugh, I wish I would've found Dr. Mitch sooner. Put your doubts and fears aside and just go see him.
