Horrible! Absolutely horrible. I'm so grateful we are out of this hell hole of an apartment complex. If you love getting your things stolen and broke into- this the right place for you. Security is so bad! You might as well say that this apartment complex isn't secured the way they do not do their job. The gates are never working so the gate just be wide open and they security just lets any and everybody in. The leasing agents are nice but the property manager seems very unknowledgeable about everything literally when it comes to this apartment complex. We have got multiple things stolen while living at this apartment complex and no one seems to care. We are taking legal action against them because of this. read more

Our neighbor's sewage pipes overflowed (not her toilet, the actual pipes) into her kitchen and dining room. The maintenance just used a shop vac to get some of it up and left the rest. I had to help her clean it myself. Imagine living somewhere that the maintenance won't even clean up sewage and you and your kids are expected to sleep with it in your apartment. The mold in our apartment has made my wife sick. Stray pitbulls and cats everywhere. I got attacked by a stray pitbull getting out of my car. The cars in the back of the complex get broken into. I had to help my neighbor clean it so she and her kids didn't have to sleep with feces in their kitchen and dining room. The air ducts do not work 2 of the rooms. Her hospital attitude and demeanor is rare and should be protected and glorified because in this day and age no one cares about anyone's personal issues, Fern is very responsive and understanding of her resident lives and also what's going on in the world as far as inflation. If you ever read through those Google reviews of this place, you'll see a lot of reviews about a certain person. Very positive. While other negative reviews have a response from the owner with a copy and pasted message acting like the review is coming from the "old leasing manager." Let me put in my two cents about this place. We had a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom unit. The master bedroom has a walk in closet with a bathroom. The other two rooms were a lot smaller. Smaller closet space, and bathroom was in the hall. The half bathroom was on the main floor in front of the entrance. The kitchen looked nice, however there was not enough counter space or cabinets for everything. I bought a cart to stow away any extra items because of this. The unit came with a dishwasher and the water fee was included with the rent so no worries there. However for some reason the dishwasher had a bad smell to it. So I never used it. There were times when it rained and the floors got flooded. Water entered through a hole above the window, and it also happened to the neighbors as well. It took a while for maintenance to come by. And even when they did, they just patched the hole up and painted over the water stains. Even with that "fixture," there was still water stains on the other walls, and maybe mold, but who knows. In the hot summer days, let me tell you about the air conditioning! Nice air blowing in the main floor of the living room, some air blowing in the upstairs master bedroom and one for the smaller bedroom, and barely any in the last bedroom. It would get so hot, because the sun faces directly towards our unit. You could not even feel the air, unless you stood in a certain spot. read more

I don't live here, but I spent some time looking and applying for the property. We were approved but didn't move in, certain things just seemed off. The location isn't the best. Central Dr (nearest intersection) is sketch and the gas stations on that corner see regular robberies and gunfire. This community is gated, however, and the entrance has a security person at all times. The property looks really nice from the road and in the front, but the unit we were considering was way in the back and upkeep seemed to get worse as you went along, including a crackling cement slab where a building once stood that burned down years ago. The office staff, although friendly enough, couldn't seem to agree on some of the things we were told.. what we needed in order to apply, rates and whether this and that was included.. they did mention that they'd JUST purchased the property, so maybe that is why they seemed a bit uninformed. Maybe (hopefully) that will change. The units are beautiful on the inside, nice renovations with contemporary kitchens etc.. but like I said, some look great on the exterior, others like a dump. So I passed it up this time. I've had such horrible experiences with properties who can't seem to keep things straight depending on who you talk to and I'm just not willing to chance that again, or be stuck in the busted unit that maintenance may ignore because it's not the pretty ones lining the road. But the property has potential. And if you're reading this a few months after I post this, stop by. See what's up when the new managers have been around a while. read more

Upon move in, Stephanie started the tour and as soon as we opened the dish washer, there was a roach which we both noticed. Stephanie noticed a few dead roaches on the ground in the kitchen. I was directed to the leasing office for an exterminator.They did come but there are still roaches. Now, this was my first night here and I had already planned to leave. The unit reeks as if a mouse died and the corpse is still there. My clothes now smell like this. When I talked to Stephanie, she said that all of the units smell like that. This was false as the model that was shown to me smelled like marijuana, not a dead rodent. I went out and spent $150 to try and alleviate this smell with no luck. I looked under the kitchen sink and noticed a mold stain as well as holes around the pipes. I also notice mold in the closet area which holds the water heater. There are multiple roaches around this area. I then noticed that the vents were blowing out hot air. It was 93 degrees that day and I felt like I was going to pass out. I had to leave and sit in my vehicle. When I went to the office about it, Stephanie asked "Well how doesn't it work if we were both in there and it was working" as if I was lying. When they came to fix it, there was a roach infestation on the air conditioner monitor, which he said is why the air condition wasn't working. This unit is terrifying and disgusting and SHOULD NOT BE RENTED OUT TO ANYONE. I wish I could upload the videos of the roach hunt. They're in my food and all over my dishes. When I went into the office to talk about the falsely advertised apartment, Stephanie began to confuse me with another tenant, telling me that my credit is low and that im a risk factor. She proceeded to read an email about the tenant that she confused me with, and revealed that a tenant was a risk factor but Adar was "taking a chance." I had to tell her, "My name is ________, not ________" for her to stop reading another tenants business to me. Over the span of the 3 months, I've physically resided in the unit for about 1 month as I leave often to a relatives house just to get away from this unit. I lost my remote job as its "unprofessional" and violates my jobs standards of an appropriate workspace to have bugs/vermin present in the video chat while dealing with clients. Now I'm moving out 3 months into the lease and am being charged $2150 in termination fees. Please stay far away from ghetto, roach infested, molded, dead rodent smelling, hot sweat box Adar. read more

I have been living here since October of 2020. Firstly I was bamboozled by one of the leasing agents. When I came to tour the location In September of 2020, they showed me their model apartment (The pictures that they provide on their website) The leasing agent stated that I would get the same kitchen appliances shown on those photos ( i.e double door fridge). When I moved in I noticed that I had a single door fridge, and there were many things in the apartment that wasn't fixed ( i.e. sink drain doesn't work, missing a tray in the fridge etc.). Since then I have had mold issues on my bedroom ceiling from a terrible leak in the roof. They will raise the rent 100-150$ every year as well. Also the security guards don't secure SHIT. They are just there to give the appearance of safety. My car was actually broken into in 2022, soooo yeah lol I am paying 1,350 for a less than 700 sq feet in the HOOD. These apartments are off of MEMORIAL DRIVE, the HOOD part of Memorial. Its a lot of people who solicit at the gas stations and shopping centers in the area. There is a pool, dog park and basketball court. No laundry center on site. They even had the nerve to build this rinky dink ass "outside gym" next to the basketball court. 1) 24/7 security is pointless when they NEVER check who's coming in, they just sit on their phone and open the gates without even looking up at the person trying to get in. 2.) Walls are extremely thin, you hear everything outside and from your neighbors. Got neighbors who are constantly fighting with cops being called, on top of the weed smoking coming through vents and forget complaining about any of it because they do nothing but claim they will yet nothing ever happens because they do not care. 3) Parking is beyond trash, constantly fighting for a spot. 4) Foundation is extremely weak, if you have a townhome you hear everything from upstairs literally while downstairs. Already had multiple issues I've had to call maintenance for and majority of the time they act as if they don't want to do their job so much so I've had maintenance tickets closed without anyone ever coming by. 5) You will constantly hear gun shots, try waking around and you will find bullet shells on the floor and loud music if not from other tenants, from the cars. Upon moving in I was issued the wrong mailbox key. Thinking it was my mailbox, I sent all the resident's mail back only to find out I was issued the wrong mailbox key. Of course Golden Gates didn't tell me.The local post office told me after not receiving my mail for A MONTH. Long story short, I went in the leasing office to inform them of the mishap. MILA Echols stated she couldn't give me the mail I was expecting because she didn't have access to the mailboxes. The following day, I called check the status of the key again MILA ECHOLS said the key still wasn't ready. I reminded her that she told me it would be ready that day. She replied, "When it's ready I'll call you!," abcs hung up in my face. I drove to the office to speak to the property manager, but first I wanted to make sure that I wasn't tripping. I asked Mila echoes if she hung up in my face and her response was," I sure did!" While reminding her that I've never disrespected her or been rude to her, she tossed the mailbox key on the table saying here's your little key that you wanted it so bad. Of course I contact corporate office. I even waited a week to see if they were going to respond. finally I reached out to the controller by the name of Fern, to see if she received my email. Her response was yes I received it. This is my brief obnoxious to let you know what you will be dealing with. The Experience was HORRIBLE the moment you have one hard day they take you through hell to show you how much you don't mean anything to the company. I was a punctual paying tenant until the pandemic happened and even then I received help from the state. Anytime I would ask for an update from the check sent by the state they would try to embarrass me. They also called the police on me 3 times because of the check which the police informed them I am a resident and they can not do so. There has been 3 murders on the property which they failed to tell us about. There are robbers that will break into your car ! A residents brother tried to stop the robber and was killed. I heard it and seen it so I know but Golden Gate has still YET to inform us! Just to lock our doors and install cameras if we feel unsafe. I moved here June 28th and I immediately regretted it. This community has a pest issue. Specifically cockroaches and spiders . For the past month I have been seeing cockroaches almost everyday. I have a terrible fear of cockroaches and to have to live in this environment is unsanitary. As I'm writing this at 12:26am I just saw one crawling on the ceiling in my bedroom!!!!! I'm so tired of this!!!!!!!! You hear everything that goes on in the townhomes next to you(walls are thin). The townhome squeaks and makes noises that sounds like someone is breaking in every night. I've had company and they even get scared once they hear the noise. As someone who've experienced a home invasion before you can imagine how I feel every night. I've heard gun shots a few times since I moved in. Pest control has not helped with the pest issue because they only spray the corners and they told me the community doesn't pay to spray the entrances or along the baseline because it would cost them more. I'm breaking my lease to get out of this hell hole. Do yourself a favor and do not move in. This place is not good for my mental nor physical health. I hate it here! Update 10/28/19- woke up to cockroaches , this is crazy. Can't even eat in my hose. Last week I got subway still closed in the bag and a cockroach came out towards the food. I was told a false amount as the cost to move in, that changed. I requested my lease agreement be corrected for accuracy, but that was denied. I was told maintenance would fix the issues I noticed with the property I chose, but that didn't happen. I was told my lease move in date couldn't be changed but that I could just move in 3 days later and on that date the property still wasn't ready. On the date of move in I noticed even more wiring and lighting issues with the unit. My overall experience had been horrible but the staff on the physical property have been kind.I've signed a lease without the promises made having been met. The plumbing and electrical conditions of this unit are not move in ready and are unacceptable. Peoples on location are kind and helpful, but they're not who you're deal with. This was the place residents in the beginning could call HOME! Now, I am not so sure what to call this place maybe I should try the word NIGHTMARE. The new management is better use of term lacking and I mean everything is lacking in every way form and fashion. Today a mass email was created stating the Golden Gate residents (all residents) owe a late fee for this month rent and then a correction email had to be sent to all residents regarding the mass email mistake. I only wonder what other mistakes are being made! The Golden Gate Townhome pool has not been opened all this summer. Even though when coming to visit one will see the pretty blue water awaiting for you to take a dive, do not be fool by this illusion because it is ALL A FACADE!!! Lastly, the floors are slippery and my elderly mother has fallen several times when asking for a banister on the other side for support or some carpet to be place down the response was far from satisfactory. I stated other residents have made similar complaints about the slippery wooden or what seems to be wooden floors, but I feel as if I was dismissed every single time. Let it be known, they do not care about safety of the residents, the issues residents present, or the residents that live in this huge community. Golden Gate Townhomes personnel simple do not care and they have no disregard for their resident's concern. The appliances we all love and adore so much once the townhome is lived in, the resident can experience the wear and tear!!! The quality of everything in the townhome is determine by the years lived in. I can only state the quality and experience is mediocre and not worth the price. Please be aware FREE IS NOT ALWAYS FREE and the appearance of what seems to be lavish and nice can be a well plan design of imitation. Mold, mold, mold, occasionally interrupted by mildew. Sewage waste flooded my apartment, ironically, that was a relief from the drain flies. My belongings were ruined. Although there is a drug-free written policy, the marijuana that is permitted to be smoked, is absolutely horrible if you have any sort of respiratory vulnerabilities, or you just like fresh air. My review is solely on interaction and appearance of the homes. I will say they office is pretty helpful with the process to move you in. I can see that it's under new management and being remodeled. With that being said, it's still a process to bring the entirety of the homes to full completion. My guide, Claudia was very helpful with all questions and such. I do like that it's gated and they offer different promotions to help ease the process. I also did like in most of viewing how concerned Claudia seemed about the care of the communities upkeep. In March, I had the opportunity to move into a nice home or move into Golden Gate; I chose GG due to the promise of how wonderful the community was going to be. Unfortunately, I regret my decision and if I could do it again, I would have moved into the home instead of GG. When I first moved in, everything was great--it seemed as if the community was genuinely concerned about the residents and their needs; however, that concern was short lived. It is now apparent that the community is all about the money as they are putting the priority of finishing the new, uninhabited townhomes in front of the needs of the residents and the homes that are already inhabited. There is a running list of things that need addressed in and outside of my home that are not being addressed. For instance, the gutters are so clogged that every time it rains, my roof serves as the source of a waterfall coming off the side of my home; my patio floods with water every time it rains as well. There will be 1-2 inches of standing water on my patio and once it evaporates, another inch of mud/clay is left that I am responsible for cleaning up. There have been numerous deadlines set for the landscaping of the community and townhomes and these deadlines keep getting pushed back but rest assured, the newer townhomes ARE landscaped. My home is surrounded by mud and clay that was supposed to have been covered with sod and has not. My bf & I took it upon ourselves to mulch my patio and front entrance of my home because the promise of having that completed in a timely period was broken as well. Trash, broken limbs, and glass reside in the wooded area next to my house that was, guess what, addressed but is STILL there. I'm uncomfortable walking my dog in that area due to all the glass that litters the area, but have no other viable options. In addition to the landscaping, the parking lot was supposed to be paved/redone over a month ago; it still looks a mess and is uneven in MANY places. Please believe--if you intend to put a work order in, be prepared to wait wks for your issue to be addressed. I've been having an issue with my AC for a month and it has yet to be looked at. If you choose to move into GG and have any issues that need to be addressed, you might as well do it yourself; it'll gone done much faster and be completed with much less frustration. As I stated before, if I could do it all over again, I WOULDN'T move in here. It has been an absolute headache. Save yourself the bother! read more

She is very Professional, Amazing Customer Service and Understanding. She has the best personality. She is very friendly, upbeat and have a warming smile every time I see her. I love the fact that she waves to every person coming into the residents if she is outside on the property. If you have any concerns she address it in a professional and timely manner.
