If you're looking for convenience, look elsewhere. I ordered from the app so I wouldn't have to wait, pulled up to the drive through 5 minutes after it said my order would be ready...so I wouldn't have to wait, told the lady at the speaker that I was picking up an app order, she told me I had to park and come in. I parked and went in, and they had my order sitting on the counter. So on a Saturday night at 6:45 with an empty drive through and an empty restaurant, they refused to hand me my bag at the window because they had the power to make me park and come in to get my order. Really? $11.90 for 3 chicken strips, mashed potatoes and corn nuggets - but don't ask them to hand you your bag when they have no other customers. That is asking too much. There are other chicken options in Wylie that don't do their best to annoy the customers. read more

Extremely poor customer service Ordered on the Mobile app only to find it was missing sauce and sides I had initially paid for and was told they don't have anymore sauces or sides we ordered. Then when we wanted a refund they said "managers not here" fine no problem. We call the next day and are met with extremely rude workers over the phone who hung up on us 4 times while trying to figure out if we were gonna get our refund.Avoid this one and go to the other location in Wylie much better customer service and almost never get your order wrong read more

Checking was just ok and salty; Cole slaw and salad were old. I was hoping for another option to KFC but ended up regretting it.

I went to the Wylie location on Hwy 78 mid afternoon, Feb 7th, 26. I was told that they only had ONE crispy breast but they did have some roasted chicken. I ordered the one breast and roasted wings. When I opened the box, the breast had been cooked earlier in the day and was greasy and tough, the roasted chicken was the same way. The only fresh item was the okra. I could not eat but a little of both pieces of chicken. I will never, never eat there again. If you chose to eat there make certain you ask for freshly cooked pieces. read more

Been here twice and was hoping the first time was a fluke, but it is consistently terrible. My old Golden Chick was great, but this location is really bad. Fries are soft and undercooked, Chicken is usually decently crispy but always the smallest possible tenders. Got my sauce wrong both times and the gravy was basically water. This horrible quality also does not bode well for the cleanliness inside. Unfortunate, but definitely will be finding a different location to eat. read more

It's been 7 years since my first review. I will admit we visit this location due to convenience to where we live. I can't deny the food is delicious and it does outweigh (at times) the poor customer service. However, for the past few months we have noticed a change. Not only is the food delicious, but the service has drastically improved. No longer are we waiting several minutes (15-20 at times in the past) for drive through orders. Nope, we order, pull up, get our food and go. Not only that, but the customer service we're receiving at the window is much appreicated. Even a simple "hello" or "thank you for coming" is nice. I wish I knew the employee's name, but one (female) in particular stands out as to making us feel appreciated as customers. So for sure this is a location I would recommend for service (and of course for good food) read more

Went there today at 12:00 pm for lunch and went to the drive thru. There were 5 cars including myself in the drive thru and the wait was soooo long that we all left and did not order. I don't know what was going on in there, but they lost out on a lot of money today. They were not taking orders and making people wait. I won't be back to this location. I waited 20 minutes just to see how long the wait would be, but I got tired of waiting and left with the rest of the cars. read more

I am absolutely livid with the service at this location. I placed an online order at 7:30 AM for a 3:15 PM pickup for my kids' game day meal. My mother, in her sixties, went to pick up the food and arrived at 3:12 PM. She was told to pull around front and wait, but after 12 minutes of sitting there, still no food by 3:25 PM. Finally, my mother, frustrated and with my young child in tow, went inside to find out what was going on. The excuse? They only had one cook and one person working. My mother reminded them that the order had been placed hours ago, and this should not be an issue. The employee's response? "We are always hiring and asking for applications, we have extra shirts and hats for those who want to help," in the most sassy, disrespectful tone possible. Completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, they didn't even have the beverage we requested, for the SECOND time! This location clearly has no regard for customer service or following through with orders. I had already given this location a second chance after a bad experience two months ago, but after today, NEVER AGAIN. This establishment has lost any business from me. I hope the people of Wylie wake up and stop supporting this place. There are two other Golden Chick locations nearby with excellent service, and I'll be going there from now on. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

The Lady that was there had zero customer service skills, she didn't check my order and despite me asking if everything was in the bag, I got home and the 1gallon lemonade was missing. I asked for a refund over the phone, they told me do it online, I did it and nobody replied to my email. The food taste good, but it's extremely hard to digest. This place had potential if they would hire people who care about what they do. read more

I've eaten at this golden chick many times, and I usually order online so that it will be ready when I arrive during my lunch break but even when I order at 11:00 to pick up at 12:00, they usually haven't even started my order until after I arrive (a few minutes after 12). I went there for lunch today and got a sweet tea with my meal and as I was drinking it, something solid came through the straw which based on the texture, I can only imagine that it was a piece of food (hopefully). I think it's safe to say I've visited this establishment for the last time. i just wish I could rate it lower than 1 star. read more

lol. I was literally told I cannot order ONE extra roll because they "are busy and don't have time to make more"........ I'm the only one in the drive thru and no one is inside??? Make it make sense. read more

**UPDATE- I received a call from a manager on 413. He replied, he would refund our money. He asked me to text him the last four digits of my card and would have it refunded. You can see the corresponding text messages. Today is 5/6 and we have yet to receive a refund. Dispute has been filed with Bank. This confirms that management is lacking along with service at this location. Stay far far away. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. We ordered the chicken, tender meal and inadvertently a chicken leg was dropped in our box. My young son began eating the chicken and it was completely bloody. I thought he lost a tooth it was so bloody. He was sick Easter weekend. I called and spoke to Rocky who is the manager. He refused to credit me back without a receipt. I spoke to the GM Brandi who also refused. I told them both that the receipt was in the bag and my son spit out the bone, blood and raw chicken in the bag, and that was all thrown in the trash. I do have my bank account statement which shows their telephone number of their location on it and the time my card was swiped. We also frequently visit the Princeton location which also has their own telephone number. I also advised them they could pull up their video camera, showing me coming into the store to prove that. I was told no matter if I brought a "bloody receipt, if they could not read it, they could not refund me my money that this was company policy." Brandi stated "there is no one higher than me to help." I am not sure why they would think someone would make this story up for fun. They have reported that there is no way this could have happened. I explained that I do understand accidents happen and we just want to be compensated as we don't know how it happened either. I was told no refund despite a video, or a bank statement with their telephone number. Even the IRS accepts bank statements. Stay away from this establishment. It's sad how management reacts. Try the other location down the road. read more

Golden Chick - Fast Food Near Me - Wylie, Texas

This wylie location use to be a good one. Not anymore Our last 3 visits were really not good. Such a waste of money. We threw the oder away. The food was not checked until we get home. We have been getting old chicken , soaked in grease fries. read more

The food was really good! On my way home from a lacrosse game and me and my buddy stopped here for 9:00pm dinner. While it was 22$ for both of us, the portions were above average and the sauces were bomb!! I think the chicken was also quite juicy and the fries had a good texture, not to mention the roll. Good place to stop for a quick meal. read more

Came at 7PM, they said they ran out and need to make it which takes 30 minutes. Why open when you don't have food ready?

They are using bare hands to pick up your fries and chicken and throw them in the box, and they don't care if you see. If I were you I would go to the one in garland. read more

Service was excellent at the drive thru & staff member at the window was nice but I can't say the same for the chicken. You can taste and bite into the fat. Just not appealing. The sides were good. We had mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. Rolls are great. For the jr. combo the menu says it comes with 2 chicken strips but they are generous with the chicken and pretty much gave us 3-4 in each combo. Unless a mistake was made on the drink size, the jr. combo drink was the same size as regular combo drink. That was a plus! We had a lot of chicken left over from just the jr. meals. We've dined in before. Not clean when we went, ice cream machine down and tonight we only received 2 lotta zing sauces. Not enough for the amount of chicken and I did request for it along with only one gravy. Just not loving their chicken anymore. read more

I have come to this location several times and the fish is fried extremely hard. There is barely any meat and it's pretty much full of fried crisp. This last time I specifically asked for fish that is lightly fried and not too hard and I got two rocks. I called the manager and he said this is the only way we can fry or it will be raw. Unacceptable. I will not be back to this Gold Chick. read more

Other locations are great but this one sucks. If you go to the drive-thru, thoroughly check your order. They just totally screwed up mine and I was already home before I noticed it. Another time I dined in , some female employee went on a yelling, cussing rant about how low her pay is. Management needs to step up. Complete waste of money. Had heard about the Roasted chicken breast Lite meal. Thought that might be a good quick dinner. Waited as I was eighth in line. She took my order for two meals mentioned above. I finally got to the window and I was they had only one chicken breast and they'd substituted legs. I told them I ordered and paid for white meat. She said she'd do a thigh. Still dark. I requested a fried breast or tenders. They agreed. Got home to ONE tender in place of a roaster breast! Plus the mashed potato side I ordered was exactly two tablespoons- barely covering the bottom of the cup. Don't go there. Edit: today I received a response to this yelp from the GM. She basically LIED or was lied to. She basically told me what her packers said which was untrue. No three tenders- there was one. Absolutely no wing and regardless of what she says they do on potatoes or salad, what I received was a tiny amount on potato and wilted old salads. Just wanted a quick dinner but this place is a joke read more

I am absolutely disgusted. I think there has been an ownership change recently, maybe this explains the situation that I just witnessed first hand. Today, I went thru drive thru and ordered okra. After waiting 15 minutes at the window (after paying) I was given my order. The okra was cold, hard, and awful. I immediately spit the okra back into the package, parked, and walked inside. A young lady asked what I needed, I explained. She takes the package from me, walked to the area and dumped my okra BACK INTO THE FOOD station. I was floored. I called over to the older man who helped me at the window, explained my problem and confirmed what I witnessed the lady do. He apologized and offered to cook fresh food. I couldn't imagine eating from there after watching her put the old food back into the serving area!! Mind you, I spit it out...and it went back in to be served to the next poor soul! I declined his offer and left. read more

Good chicken, fries, okra. Raspberry Lemonade tasted like Kool-aid, which is s no for me. Service was quick, too. I'd happily return.

Lack to attention to detail! Golden Chick is my weekly cheat meal and I look forward to it each week! Today they really lacked attention to detail...made my tenders regular when I asked for spicy and I ordered a combo and no roll in the box at all. Then to top it off when I called to have it noted my order was messed up they put me on hold for 10 mins and I finally hung up. Please look to take the time the order is right and quit rushing to the next person cause you could be tainting someones day! read more

This Golden Chick rates as the lowest of all chicken establishments and restaurants when it comes to customer service. They called the police on a customer they had wrongly served and refused to appropriately address the situation. Instead, they called the police over a chicken meal. Ridiculous and shameful! All people are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of skin color. Also, this was witnessed by multiple employees and customers alike. Do not spend your hard-earned money or time trading with this restaurant. Save yourself! read more

Terrible. This place has gone down hill fast in the past few months. Got a 4 tender combo with fries. The tenders were so small, one was barely the size of my thumb. They were not even hot, chewy like they had been sitting around for hours under a heat lamp, and lacked flavor. My husband ordered the new Chipotle buffalo tenders and they were soggy, poorly sauced, and the same temperature and size as mine. My order of fries was very small and cold, however his were hot and fresh and overflowing from the package. The rolls were hard?!?! If nothing else, the rolls have always been warm, soft, and fresh. I'm mad I wasted my cheat meal here. I will drive to the Murphy location from now on, they rarely disappoint! Customer service was also lackluster, but it always is. The food quality is inexcusable, however. If I wasn't starving, in a hurry and have a hundred other things to do I would have gone back and requested a refund. I ate half the order and threw the other half away. Gag read more

We have given this location multiple opportunities to redeem itself. I am not sure how they continue to remain in business. We did a large family order of tenders regular and spicy. The spicy was inedible it was so heavily spiced. No gravy, no honey (which is not honey). We called, received an apology and an offer of rolls and honey. Really, after $41+? Went by the next day and got rolls and again no honey. My husband checked before leaving and got some "honey sauce ". He called corporate and they assured us the owner would contact him. Nothing yet and corporate is not responding. Last time we will support Golden Chick. Too many other chicken places nearby. read more
