We set a date (07/06/26) for the replacement and what I thought was a fair negotiated price ($250), it really ended not being a fair price at all. Paco initially wanted $280, I negotiated with him to $250. Even at $250 he was higher than all others by $50-$100 more. I asked him if I could use my credit card, he said yes but there would be 4% surcharge. I didn't agree with that, so I asked if he could wave that, he reluctantly agreed. So, date and price was set. Come Monday 07/06/26, he claims his credit card service isn't working, so I agreed to a Zelle payment. Our appointment was for Monday (07/06/26 at 11:30; not only did his credit card service not work according to him, but he continued to change his arrival time. He texted me he was running behind on 07/06/26 and now would arrive no later than 12:30. By this time I'm seeing many red flags. I called him @ 11:46 on 07/06/26 to verify with him that he would arrive no later than 12:30 and was still intact. While confirming his 12:30 time, now he tells me 1 O'clock and blames me for his late arrival because I called to verify the time. During our conversation on the phone he kept interrupting me, talking over me, telling me I was upset that I couldn't use my credit card (furthest from the truth), and that I set the price for the job and so forth. I told him, I no longer needed his services, he was rude and not accommodating or respectful of my time and needs. Who wants to invite someone to their home after a terrible text and phone conversation, NO THANK YOU! To say the least, he wasn't given the job. Be careful who you hire people.

I…read morewas happy with the weed pulling and blowing, but tree trimming is not this guy, Rafa's forte. He trimmed one side of my tree and left the other side (the front of the tree that everyone can see) full and overgrown just on the one side. When he was done with the trim, the tree looked like it got struck by lightning. It was terrible! His excuse for not finishing was that he didn't have the right equipment and that he had another job to go to. Ok. I accepted the excuse of not having the proper equipment as they seemed nice and spent a good amount of time on our initial project.m; but the reason of having to go to another job is unacceptable. That is not our problem. If you're going to be paid for a job, you should finish it. I paid Rafa and even gave him and his sidekick a tip with the promise of him returning to finish the tree trimming. Boy! Do I regret it! Rafa was supposed to come back 2 months later to finish what he didn't finish (as agreed) and to do the regular maintenance, which isn't much as we live in the desert after all (weed pulling and blowing and occasional tree trimming when necessary). Well, he didn't show up so we contacted him and he said that he was busy so he couldn't come out (as if that is our problem). Anyhow, he said he would show a week or so later but didn't show again. We had to contact him again and then he goes to say that he would stop by yesterday (Monday). We texted him to confirm that he was going to come by but he decided he would change it to the next day. I understand that we all have lives but if you make a commitment with a customer, you have to stick with it and not cancel as many times as Rafa did. He finally showed today and just trimmed one tree but was still not enough as he agreed to do what we asked during his initial visit, which is to trim the trees down short. His sidekick blew the area of debris and loaded a few branches on to the trailer. Rafa decides to then start cleaning up and put away his tools. Mind you, we were watching them work and noticed that Rafa's work ethics need a bit of a fine tuning. We texted him to show us what he cut but decided that he would just speed off (no exaggeration either) as I was coming out to talk to him. I specifically texted him and let him know that he didn't finish the job and that I would like to talk to him to let him know what needed to have done but he wasn't having it and just left. Can you believe that he had had the nerve to ask for more money and tell us that the tree grew too much (bc he had us wait almost 3 months for maintenance when it was agreed to at 2 months) for him to waste his time on since he had other customers? I couldn't believe our ears. We couldn't just let it go and was hoping to get him to come back to finish the job. We tried calling and texting but no response. I think that our customer to gardener relationship will probably be over. If you want your gardening/landscaping completed, you might want to hire another company. Had to keep asking them to not walk on the freshly painted concrete and to go through the garage. The previous owner would have not known since this is underground and it's over 50 year old house. Gave me a time time when they would be there and showed up right on time (within the range) PGS has a crew of 3 total and they worked fast (for the amount of work they needed to do) The job still took them about 4-5 hours and they took care of everything (including any trash) When they're done, a lot of photos were taken (since I wasn't on-site at the time) Very happy with their service and the price was great for what they had to do. He said he would be there the very next morning; however, he never showed up. He then called and said he would come the following morning--and again, never showed up. At that point, my husband Tom submitted a quote request on Yelp, and Mizrain was one of the first to respond. He was also the most prompt and thorough when answering our questions. Mizrain provided a very competitive quote and was able to come out the same day to trim our tree. He arrived on time, immediately greeted me with a handshake, and provided his business card before getting right to work. He and his team took their time while working very efficiently. They were extremely careful to ensure that no branches fell on or damaged the house and frequently stepped back to assess the tree as a whole to make sure it looked balanced after trimming. I am extremely impressed with Mizrain and his team's work. They went above and beyond to make the tree look great and full while still removing a significant amount of overgrowth. I was initially worried it would look bare or dead, but it looks amazing. They also thoroughly cleaned the entire area, removing not only large branches but also small twigs. They even blew away dust and picked up trash that had blown into our front yard, which was greatly appreciated and not expected.
