I jumped with Paul and he was very calming when I was questioning my life . I'm so glad I did it and family and friends are already talking about going again. Would highly recommend

Me and my friend were in New Orleans for Halloween weekend. And since our plan was to go crazy, I…read moreasked him if he'd like to skydive. He was down with it, so I started looking for a skydive company and found Gold Coast skydivers - a company with a solid five star reviews across the board on Google. I called in from Houston to reserve a space on the Sunday that we'd be driving back home. I was given two options: 11 am or 3 pm. I opted for 3 pm because I knew we'd need to sleep in after a crazy Saturday night in New Orleans. To reserve the space, needed to put down a $75 nonrefundable deposit for each of us. I was a little worried about this because with skydiving, a lot of factors could come into play. What if the weather turned out bad? What if for whatever reason, we couldn't jump that day. I mean, it's not like we could easily reschedule since we are from Houston after all. But whatever. Thankfully, the day we jumped turned out to be a beautiful day. Fast forward to the jump day. We arrived at the St. Tammany Regional Airport a little before 3 because we didn't want to be late. But what we didn't realize was that they'd had some issue with the plane due to the cold weather in the morning (the only have the one plane). We didn't actually board the plane until around 5 or 5:15 pm. I wish we would have known about the delay so we could have spent a little more time in New Orleans, but oh well. This was our second skydiving experience for both me and my friend. I did my first jump with Westside Skydivers in Sealy, TX (no longer in operations) and my friend had his first jump with Skydive Spaceland in Rosharon, TX. Both our first jump was from 14,000 ft. Here, we were jumping out from 10,000 ft. I believe this is due the type of the plane that they used (much smaller than the plane I went on my first jump) and it did take a little while to get to jumping altitude. Nevertheless, once we jumped out (or more like pushed out by my tandem instructor), it was all fun. Around 30 seconds of free falling and then floating down to earth once the parachute has been pulled. It's a very freeing feeling during the fall and a very serene feeling during the float down. I didn't do pictures and videos my first jump so I decided to opt in for pictures and video for an additional fee. I was kind of expecting that there would be another jumper to do the videos and the pictures, but all the pictures and the videos are done by your tandem instructor. At the end of the day, I just wanted to have something to show. I was given a little usb flash stick with all the picture and video files on it. All in all, it was a very fun experience.
