I cannot speak to the 1 star review concerns, but as someone that works in the real estate industry, both residential and commercial, Paul's experience and report is exactly what makes the home buying experience one that you will not regret. It is very probable that the cost of repairs was too much for the buyer, and if this hidden or unknown cost had come about months after buying the house, they may not have been prepared to pay for the work. His reports are detailed and provide you with guidance on priorities and larger issues that can commonly be hidden with paint and staging. When we bought our first home, built in 1927, Paul was clear about the amount of maintenance it would require, provided tips on how to handle them, and showed us areas that were neglected that could cause issues down the road. It is important in the real estate industry to have faith in the vendors and process, Paul is the only inspector I will use when looking at a property, and his reports have aided me in making better decisions and I even review them years later to reflect on things I can still do to maintain my property.

There are probably another $20k of non immediate repairs required. He said the furnace was in good working order, but the blower wheel axle was bent and when it ran it shook the entire house. I don't think he even turned it on. There are TONS of major issues with the house and garage, and he didn't find any of them. If we had known, we could have negotiated with the seller, but we never had a chance because we thought it was all in good shape and move in ready. We've had so many contractors that we haven't even been able to unpack for two weeks... Bill is either an idiot or lazy or both, but either way he should never be allowed to do another home inspection ever again. He completely ruined our dream of a new home, and any happiness and excitement we had.

Little did we know that it would turn into a nightmare and potentially jeopardize the sale of our forever home. We had a very limited time frame for when we had to have the inspection completed. They worked with us and told us they would squeeze us in. We even received confirmation both over the phone and through text with the time and date. Day of inspection after 20 minutes of no one showing up we tried calling the company two different numbers they provided on their website and also left multiple voicemails, still nothing. After an hour of waiting and still no call or text received from them. Our realtor called them and left a message. A couple minutes later she received a call from the company. They stated there was a scheduling issue and they were sorry. They were not willing to accommodate us for their mistake, because they stated they were booked. Even though this is Thursday and we have to have our inspection completed by Monday. Also the fact that both the realtor and buyer had to drive over an hour to the house, for no one to show up. The seller also had to take off the day from work since it was in the middle of the day, but the company didn't seem to care that everyone but them was inconvenienced. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I can't believe that a company with a five star rating that is so important to them wouldn't have any sympathy for us when it was their own mistake. I understand mistakes happen, but I don't understand how hard it is to call someone and let them know what happened and at least try to work with them. Hopefully due to this company's mistake it doesn't affect the sale of our future home.
