Another fine craftsman, found on Yelp! I found GoFab when searching for machine shops and metal fabricators on Yelp. The reviews looked great, so I did my usual armchair vetting by checking the reviews on Fakespot.com, a website that verifies the legitimacy of user reviews. GoFab is rated "Grade A"! I wanted to replace an automated front door lock with a newer wireless model. The only problem was that the newer lock face plate is smaller than the old one. This would leave exposed screw holes in our door which would be obvious, even if patched. I needed a custom decorative plate to cover the old holes. I stopped by GoFab and met Jason, a surprisingly young man for being proprietor of such an advanced shop. He instantly understood what I wanted. Within two days he emailed me a detailed shop drawing of my piece. It was exciting to see my idea one step closer to reality! I should mention that this was a bit of a rush job which Jason finished for me in ample time. The finished product is beautiful and fully serves its purpose, the cost was reasonable and Jason is an exceptionally nice person. This is my second time having Jason commission me something. He always does a great job! His work is very accurate and quick. He does a very beautiful job and you can tell that he really enjoys his work. I commissioned Mirai's Blood Sword from Kyoukai no Kanata and it turned out exactly as I pictured it! It was the correct length and the curves were very nice. He even beveled the edges to give it 3D dimension. The only thing I am concerned about is the blade being too heavy for the handle. Other than that, it was beautiful! I would definitely commission Jason for future products. I have been recommending him to some friends as well. I made a cardboard template to model a cell phone mount on my xDiavelS. Jason not only followed it, but the end product came out beautiful; as if it were a standard part of the bike, all at a reasonable price. I didn't have change and attempted to give him a rounded $20 for $10 over the price we agreed to, which he refused. You don't come across that sort of integrity often anymore. read more

What can I say besides EXCELLENT! Jason is such an inventive and skilled craftsman. I gave GoFab, aka Jason, 5 stars because of the beautiful items he is able to create, his willingness to play, explore and experiment with new items and fabrications, and how fun and laid-back he is as a person and business owner. I originally sought him out to engrave a leather camera strap with a quote as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend but within the first 20 minutes of working to him, we not only finished the strap, which came out absolutely pristine, but also brainstormed and developed a plan to create 5 other personalized items for her as well! I bought a pendant light to replace an existing recessed light, but the plate it came with was too small to cover the hole. I asked Jason to make a larger plate, which would have cost $70, but after I described the problem, he suggested a better solution that only cost $30. read more

This review is long overdue. Back in december I was having a small Christmas party with some friends and I wanted to make decorative mason jar cups. After realizing that I could not cut through the metal top myself, my friend referred me to GoFab, and mentioned that they had the equipment to cut through the metal and make a small hole for the straws. I called the owner, and he was able to help me the same day. I met him at their workshop in Costa Mesa, and he knew exactly what to do. I needed about 12 lids done, and this whole process took about 30 minutes. Very impressed with the quality and overall work ethic.
