Another fine craftsman, found on Yelp! I found GoFab when searching for machine shops and metal fabricators on Yelp. The reviews looked great, so I did my usual armchair vetting by checking the reviews on Fakespot.com, a website that verifies the legitimacy of user reviews. GoFab is rated "Grade A"! I wanted to replace an automated front door lock with a newer wireless model. The only problem was that the newer lock face plate is smaller than the old one. This would leave exposed screw holes in our door which would be obvious, even if patched. I needed a custom decorative plate to cover the old holes. I stopped by GoFab and met Jason, a surprisingly young man for being proprietor of such an advanced shop. He instantly understood what I wanted. Within two days he emailed me a detailed shop drawing of my piece. It was exciting to see my idea one step closer to reality! I should mention that this was a bit of a rush job which Jason finished for me in ample time. The finished product is beautiful and fully serves its purpose, the cost was reasonable and Jason is an exceptionally nice person. I am happy to recommend GoFab and to add my 5-Star review to their growing list of perfect reviews. read more

This is my second time having Jason commission me something. He always does a great job! His work is very accurate and quick. He does a very beautiful job and you can tell that he really enjoys his work. I commissioned Mirai's Blood Sword from Kyoukai no Kanata and it turned out exactly as I pictured it! It was the correct length and the curves were very nice. He even beveled the edges to give it 3D dimension. The only thing I am concerned about is the blade being too heavy for the handle. Other than that, it was beautiful! I would definitely commission Jason for future products. I have been recommending him to some friends as well. If you have a project, you should ask him for a quote!! read more

I spent a long time trying to find the right shop to help me bring my project to life and I couldn't be happier with the services Jason provided. He is the man. Very knowledgeable and takes the time to make sure your project comes out perfect. GoFab is literally a one-stop shop, I don't think there is anything he can't make. From laser cutting to CNC routing and everything in between. Great guy, great service, five stars isn't enough. No matter how big or small your project is, Jason will get it done. This is now my go to shop for all my projects and I will definitely be telling my fellow designers about this shop. Highly recommended. read more

Brought in my brand new Hydroflask in to his shop because I lost my last one. Asked for my name on the side and phone number on the bottom. I love the results! I'm thinking about bringing in some other ones. His shop is pretty hidden and is right next to another office called "Juxtaposition" in a comercial warehouse complex. He was very nice and gave me time and even let me pick it up on MLK day, national holiday. read more

I called the owner and he told me to bring my item down and he would customize whatever it took to get it done. I brought my signdoll down to his shop, which is super close and easy to get to . . . he completed the job on time and had her working just like new in a couple days at a very reasonable price. Awesome job and my signdoll is back to work now, 8hrs a day! read more

A look around Jason's shop really showcases Jason's artistic innovation, careful attention to detail, and precise craftsmanship. Millenials in this trade are often rare nowadays, and to see someone with such quality service and customer service definitely earns itself five stars. I brought in metal needing to a clean splice; Jason was done in five minutes, sporting a clean and precise finished project. Of course, being a noob, my boyfriend and I inaccurately measured, and we reached out to Jason last minute for help again. He not only took time out of his weekend to go to the shop and wait for us, but he even lowered the cost the second time around! If you need metal, woodwork, or plastic work done, give GoFab a try. Prices are reasonable, Jason is quick and super easy to work with! read more

I made a cardboard template to model a cell phone mount on my xDiavelS. Jason not only followed it, but the end product came out beautiful; as if it were a standard part of the bike, all at a reasonable price. I didn't have change and attempted to give him a rounded $20 for $10 over the price we agreed to, which he refused. You don't come across that sort of integrity often anymore. read more

All of the other reviewers were right. I brought my ill-fitting new camera tripod mounting plate to Jason for a modification that required some precision metal grinding. Not only did he accept my small request, he worked on it during the weekend, with excellent workmanship, and all for a reasonable fee. I would not hesitate to task Jason with any project, large or small, personal or commercial, for he truly is a craftsman of the old school who takes pride in doing quality work. Now, if I can only find a car mechanic like Jason. read more

What can I say besides EXCELLENT! Jason is such an inventive and skilled craftsman. I gave GoFab, aka Jason, 5 stars because of the beautiful items he is able to create, his willingness to play, explore and experiment with new items and fabrications, and how fun and laid-back he is as a person and business owner. I originally sought him out to engrave a leather camera strap with a quote as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend but within the first 20 minutes of working to him, we not only finished the strap, which came out absolutely pristine, but also brainstormed and developed a plan to create 5 other personalized items for her as well! After a few days of working with him, right before Christmas, I walked away with 6 customized, one of kind gifts including a set of 4 custom shaped and sealed, wooden coasters. All of the additional items were engraved cookware of some kind for my girlfriend to hopefully utilize on her popular Healthy Eating and Lifestyle YouTube series called, "What's Amy Eating?" She will be posting a new video soon featuring a few of these custom items that Jason created for me. Check her channel for updates: http://www.youtube.com/user/SandCastleinc Jason, thank you again for your awesome and hard work. It was a pleasure working with you and I truly appreciate your time and flexible schedule, especially right before the holidays. I will definitely be back for more items in the near future! P.S. I am super excited for the launch of the GoFab website. When do you think it will officially be up and running? - Brian read more

Had a rush order that unfortunately was around Christmas time. Jason was able to help me, gave me a quote, and finished the project on time. Good communication via Yelp messages and phone. One note, there was an issue that came up and he took care of it, and informed me of the issue as soon as he noticed it. Price was adjusted with a discount for this. I'm more than satisfied and will use GoFab again. read more

I bought a pendant light to replace an existing recessed light, but the plate it came with was too small to cover the hole. I asked Jason to make a larger plate, which would have cost $70, but after I described the problem, he suggested a better solution that only cost $30. read more

I needed a have a part made that could attach a v-groove wheel to a round aluminum pipe. I brought the wheel into GoFab and met with Jason. I gave him my specs for the project and left the design creativity and fabrication up to him. Jason produced an outstanding product that was well designed and build. He is truly a skilled craftsman. He can take any idea and make it a reality. Jason was professional and timely. If you need help with any project, make sure to call GoFab. Thanks! read more

Okay, so when I saw a fabrication/machine shop with ALL 5's on yelp, I had to meet this person. I had a very small job involving cutting and smoothing 4 metal parts. Pretty small job but was curious if it was going to cost me $50.00 or more. Not only is guy one of nicest people you'll ever deal with, he is extremely detail oriented and very reasonable on pricing. I see now why he has all 5's. Thanks Jason. You're a rock star! read more

Jason's communication could have been better, but in the end, his work was very good. He engraved a chrome cigar lighter, which took off the top layer of chrome and exposed the underlying metal. It looks GREAT! His price was really low, perhaps too low for his effort and the results :) read more

If I could give Jason more than 5 stars I would. Found this little shop while trying to look for a place to engrave my boyfriend's Christmas gift and it came out amazinggggg!!! Jason is responsive, passionate about what he does, and makes sure that you leave happy. He made sure my gift perfect, down to the last details and my boyfriend ended up loving it! Super cool that he does this on the side besides being an electrical engineer just because he enjoys it so much. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Very helpful and personalized service! I placed several orders with GoFab to create customized gifts and little party accent pieces and each one turned out very nicely. For a wedding, we wanted to create simple lasercut tags with the bride and groom's initials for wine glasses that each guest would customize by writing their names. We provided the fabulous people at GoFab with our initial artwork file, which they crafted into precisely cut pieces, guiding us throughout the process. The final product looked better than what we had imagined and all the guests truly enjoyed having that special accent to their glasses. Thanks GoFab! read more

I reached out to GoFab over the holidays to ask about engraving some purse hooks, and Jason responded to me almost immediately. After a few back and forth emails, I was impressed with his professionalism, response time, and pricing. Unfortunately, I decided the hooks weren't fancy enough to engrave right now, so I ended up returning them, but I will definitely be keeping Jason in mind for future business! read more

This review is long overdue. Back in december I was having a small Christmas party with some friends and I wanted to make decorative mason jar cups. After realizing that I could not cut through the metal top myself, my friend referred me to GoFab, and mentioned that they had the equipment to cut through the metal and make a small hole for the straws. I called the owner, and he was able to help me the same day. I met him at their workshop in Costa Mesa, and he knew exactly what to do. I needed about 12 lids done, and this whole process took about 30 minutes. Very impressed with the quality and overall work ethic. He really knew what he was doing and seemed extremely comfortable with all the equipment. If I ever needed any cutting or engraving in the future, I would definitely consider GoFab. read more

I have been coming to Jason and GoFab for over a year now and he has done over a dozen orders for me! Every order was made perfectly! He is very responsive via email, phone and text and always checks with me if there needs to be any changes. I usually tell him to use his best judgement and he's never led me astray! I've gotten Hydroflask bottles and metal luggage tags made through him and all have been soooo professional looking and exactly what I wanted. And not to leave out, his turnaround time is impeccable! Jason even takes the time to deliver my orders to me in Newport Beach since he knows it's crazy for me to get out of the office! Always a pleasure to work with him! read more

Gofab is just amazing I got a couple of things engraved and the work was so good it made me speechless

Jason is awesome. His work is top quality, he is super responsive, and he's a nice guy. As an added bonus, he provided great advice throughout the project on (i) the pros and cons of our design choices - types of metal and types of finishes and (ii) how to install the two pool water bowl spouts that he made for us. That installation advice was critical to making the project successful, since we had never previously done anything like this. Definitely now our go-to guy for any custom fab needs. read more
