We just got back from spending a weekend in Evansville for the National Homeschool Soccer Tournament held at the Goebel Soccer Complex. I want to applaud Goebel for the work they did to provide a safe environment to the players and spectators. Masks were required for all on fields and parking lots (except for players during a game only), per the Evansville indoor and outdoor mask mandate. The staff did a great job of enforcing this and asking spectators, nicely, to comply.
The bathrooms were kept cleaned and stocked with hand soap, tp, and sanitizers. The fields were clear, clean, and well-marked for all the games. The only con was that there were several deep holes around the fields that were easy to trip over and should be filled. Bleachers were marked off to keep people off of them during COVID. There are paved walkways to most of the fields, making it an easier walk especially when toting wagons, etc. Plenty of parking and easy in/out access. read more
