This place is amazing. I severely injured my leg and needed a walker. I must have called nearly…read moreevery medical supplies company on my insurance in-network list but I wish I had called Avant first. One of the biggest reasons this is a five star pharmacy/supplies company is because they directly bill insurance. I found no other place in Charlotte that did this. They all wanted me to pay for the equipment myself and then get a reimbursement from insurance. Talk about a hassle and risky proposition if the insurance decided not to cover it. Another thing they did is pre-order the walker even before they received the prescription from my doctor so that it would be ready as soon as possible. They took the time and effort to assemble the walker and adjust it to my height. They also delivered it to my front door, something that was imperative for me since I couldn't walk anywhere and couldn't get to their store. Not every place I called would deliver like this. The pharmacists who answered the phone were very prompt and courteous and Samantha, the durable medical equipment coordinator, was an incredibly helpful and conscientious person. She even called my doctor directly to persuade him to speed up the prescription process because I had been waiting for over a week. If anyone ever needs durable medical equipment your first call should be Avant Pharmacy.

The customer was upset that the store didn't carry what she wanted. The staff apologized and explained this is more of a wellness space than a dispensary. The customer then began to share personal info and said "I have never smoked". The staff replied then why would you start now. I myself have been asked this question by them and I was glad. I didn't realize there were other options for delivery of plant medicine. Instead of seeing the question as it was intented to be, caring, this customer began to get very defensive and just rude to the GMSG staff. I just felt horrible for the staff. I've been coming here for years and have never felt in any way disrespected or unsupported. I wish I knew who this woman was so I could say shame on you for being so nasty to someone trying to help you!
