Aside from everyone's posted horrible experiences i decided to create my own experience! I've visited in 2012 when i didn't have my own kids and it seemed fine so coming back i didn't rest have the same idea being years have passed so things including prices can change thank goodness this is one of the rare pumpkin patches with activities that are open during the day. Most opened around 2 and with my 3yr old and 1 yr old that wasn't going to work for us. Even though they have schools field trips happening i couldn't tell they had so many kids until i saw then gathering to leave. Steve was amazing. As we arrived he told us what was going on and gave us an idea of what to expect before even mentioning the cost. I appreciate that rather than someone taking my money and go on. I didn't expect his warm welcome to be there. Made me want to be there even more! He seemed like he genuinely wants families to have fun and enjoy what they have created! The best part is my son never really talks to many people but he was happy to talk to Steve about his hot wheels, pumpkins and mcdls as we were leaving for lunch! The hay pyramid, the kiddie corner with cars, spooky houses, a imagine play area with Saloon, merc, jail house was fun for the kids. Hay rides and tractor photo ops. Sunflower box for the kiddos to get messy and creative. I enjoyed the day here 4/5 stars only for the pumpkin selection being a bit wonky. A few of the attractions were down but in reality they weren't going to be put to use by the age of children and the amount of traffic they had. Will be back! read more

There's an admission fee for pre-teens + teens. Admission was $10 each. My 2 y/o was free. I showed them my military ID and got free entry. Entry covers free "haunted house" tour and you can pay extra for a hay ride or train ride. Pumpkin selection is very limited. There is no corn maze. The "haunted house" consists of a small room that's dark with Halloween decors that you see at a Halloween store. If you step on it, the stuff pops up and scares you. The train ride takes less than 10 minutes to complete, depending how fast the driver is. It's literally around the field, which is about the size of a high school track. There's a seesaw, hay stacks, face painting that ranges from $10, $15 or $20 depending which designs you want. The 3 females who face pint are awesome. They're funny and full of personality. Food selection is very limited, pretty much your basic candy + snacks you can purchase whole sale at Costco; cold bottle water, cans sodas and Capri suns. No shave ice, popcorn, or speciality treats you typically see at a pumpkin patch at this time of year. There's two sandboxes that's are filled with corn kettles that kids can jump in and play with. You can get a decent experience with your kiddos without having to drive too far. I wouldn't call it a pumpkin patch, more so a "field" trip. My family enjoyed this unplanned trip, so it's worth a try if you're looking for something local and less crowd. read more

Is cute & spooky a thing? I think it is now! This is probably one of the best pumpkin patches I have ever been to. It is literally a cute, autumn, western town put under a shrink ray just for the kids! As a dude, I don't use the word cute very often but it's the perfect explanation. I needed a variety of mixed seasonal hay stacks, pumpkins, and gorges for a unique fall setup back home. I gave Ms. Lisa (who was so kind & helpful) a budget and she quickly put together the best Fall setup I could think of. (glad I didn't get to choose). The place is very clean! I was really surprised I wasn't kicking up much dust everywhere I went. Tons of different types of pumpkins to choose from. They have corn mazes, hay stack mazes for the little ones, and even a haunted train ride around the property. If your hungry, on the weekends they have burgers, hotdogs, and tri tip sandwiches... Cons- thought it was awesome for 7 yrs and under. My 2 9 yr olds had fun but mostly too old for the freebie stuff. Pro- Clean and well organized. You could tell it was family owned. $7 entry fee is good if you're going to use all the free stuff. Very very nicely decorated and freshly painted props. They take pride you can tell. Like spooky train $3/Jump house unlimited $6/ pumpkin/corn launcher $1 per trigger fire..lol They have food options/ snack options/ shaved ice/ you can even bring in your own food for a picnic. no extra fee and they have picnic benches setup so no need to bring chairs and a blanket. With corn maze, two haunted houses, hay ride, train rides, cut outs to take pictures, pumpkin and corn kernels to play in, play structures, old school house, jump house, pumpkins to pick or pull, wagons to carry pumpkins in, fair pricing, food to buy or bring option, clean, ample parking, bathrooms and friendly staff. Please do not go here. This is the worst pumpkin patch I have ever been to. The hay pyramid is really sad and tiny, the pedal cars are gone, the rides were all broken except for one tiny little ride, and the train isn't even running anymore. But here is the worst part: the sign out front said that the hay ride and the haunted house were included. The employee running the hay ride said that it was free. When we went to go into the haunted house, we were stopped and told it costs extra. This upset us, because the sign clearly said otherwise, so we went to leave. As we walked to our car, they were in the middle of changing the sign to cost $4 a person - IN ADDITION to the $10 entrance fee that literally gets you NOTHING. That is ASTRONOMICAL. What shady business practices, and on top of that, they were rude and nasty. PLEASE do not go here. You WILL regret it. I want my money back so badly. There are so many better places that will charge you a lot less. Shame on you, Goblin Gardens. I hope you go out of business. read more

Our four and five year old had a great time at this charming and well-maintained pumpkin farm named Goblin Gardens. Great selection of pumpkins -- plus other fun things to do: - corn maze; - tractor drawn hayrides; - gigantic hay bale pyramid; - mini hay bale maze; - tractors, seesaws and other play equipment; - wooden cut-outs for photo-op's; - a mini racetrack for toddlers (four and under); - some sort of inflatables that weren't blown up (it was breezy the day we went). This patch is an easy drive from downtown Sacramento. Parking was free. They are open from 10am to 7pm all week. Admission was $4.00 which allowed access to most of the above for no additional fee. Because we had kids with us, we didn't mind the admission price; some other patches may have "free" admission but they make up for this by charging you for each individual activity. Pumpkin prices in 2008 range from $3 to $12 and up, depending on the size. After we made our purchase, they let our kids each take a free mini pumpkin on the way out. If you have young children, this patch is an excellent choice. It's easy to navigate, orderly and clean. Seriously -- this is so much better than buying a pumpkin from the grocery store and your kids will have the memory of picking out their own pumpkins straight from the patch. I'm sorry, but it's ridiculous if I need to pay a fee just to buy pumpkins. 10$ each person just to go look through pumpkins just seems wrong. Not everybody wants to join the attractions. This place is hit or miss. For starters, it's cash only, it is not stated anywhere on their website and you have to dig on Yelp to find this info. For me, I'd prefer to have that info in bold and highlighted. They do have an ATM, but with the $10 per person admission fee, the added ATM fees irritated me. There have been a few times we've come, paid to get in and most of the activities were not available. The $10 admission includes unlimited hayrides (the wagon is covered to protect you from the sun) two small children maize mazes (adults can see over the top) a stationary tractor for pic ops, a seesaw, a dried bean box and corn box, an old western town for pics, two small haunted hallways, a hay bale pyramid for climbing and a little lot with Little Tykes toddler cars. The activities included with admission were AMAZING when my kids were 1-4 yrs old. Now at 6/7 yrs, the activities they're interested in require additional payment. So, at this point I feel like I'm paying admission to allow our family to get inside to pay for more stuff. There is an older woman that has been there every time we've gone the past few years and she is always a nightmare. You can feel the hate and sadness in her heart, I've learned to just steer clear of her. She's terse, unhelpful and cold. Having said that, EVERYONE else was cheerful, helpful and warm. The haunted train is $3 per person and is cool. It takes you through the corn field where there are homemade ghosts and goblin type scarecrows throughout and one scare where a real person jumps out and scares ya. The pay activities include: a corn/pumpkin canon, $1 per shot, a giant inflatable slide, $6 for unlimited trips, face painting $5-$10, the haunted train $3 per person and those old fashioned 25¢ metal horse/car/boat/shuttle rides. There are quite a few picnic tables, with shade even. The employees are friendly, the Hawaiian shaved ice is delicious and the grounds were clean. We didn't buy any pumpkins, and I'm not sure how much they cost, I felt like a small pumpkin could be included in the exorbitant admission fee to make me feel less like a walking piggy bank to this place. All in all, I feel like it's risky to come here and this year we ended up here bc Ray's Pumpkin patch (down the road) was closed when we pulled up. Today was great, we didn't even run into the sad, mean woman. Oh, and, this is a total side note and probably just a me thing, but the person speaking on their outgoing voice mail pronounces pumpkins as "punkins," and that bothers me ;) Good luck, hope you pick the right day to enjoy this place. read more

Went for our yearly Halloween pumpkin patch visit. We live down the street and have been going every year for at least the 5 last years. Every year they add something new but of course you have to buy individual tickets for any rides inside. This year was first for the pony rides but we didn't partake. It's 10 bucks to get in. We did get a 6$ all you can ride slide ticket and ride the hay ride which is free. The hay and corn mazes are cool. They have a few small haunted barn walks which are really dark. In fact a few people in our party hit their head and arms because they couldn't see so those definitely need some updating. We didn't buy any pumpkins this year as they are too expensive for the bigger ones. However if you want unusual shapes or colors and like picking out your pumpkin than this is the place. I would have gave them a 4 but I tried having a party last year and this year. Here's the deal. Last year I called and left a few voicemails without a response and that's what the website advised me to do. This year I decided just to stop by. I left my # and dated I wanted with out a response. So after a week and a half I called and spoke to someone who said they don't do any parties during the week. I didn't want a party on the weekend as it's way too packed. Guess that's the way the cookie crumbles. Think I could have got a faster response. Don't get me wrong I will still go but may pay less each year as everything getting pricey. read more

This pumpkin patch was fun. I went with my girlfriend and her mom so we are all grown but we still had a fun time. It was good for us because we were looking for a pumpkin patch that was close and was not going to be that time consuming. And that it was...we spend maybe 2 hours there but we had fun. It's $7 to get in but they do have free parking so that's a plus. With your $7 fee you get to: walk through a small corn maze, a hay bale maze, a small hay bale maze that you can see over the top (or not if your a child), a spooky tunnel (and it's not scary to adults but might be for small children), a hay ride, a very tall hay pyramid, a one room school house that you look inside, and a little mini old town that you can play in. I think this place would be great for small children or people like me who are kids at heart. Haha. They had a lot of pumpkins in all sizes. The medium one were $5 and I think the large were $10 so not too bad. I got a mini pumpkin that I think is super cute for $2. It was fun but not as fun as another pumpkin patch I went to this year- Bishops pumpkin patch. However that one is really expensive and far away so this one was just what I was looking for. read more

Best pumpkin patch farm! The whole staff there from the parking lot to every stand you went to were so nice and friendly. We pulled up and got front parking right by the entrance (just got lucky I think) which was nice when you have two little ones which made it easy for when we had to leave. Entrance fee wasn't bad, but does add up when you pay for the additional activities, but my girls and even my husband had a blast which is all that matters. Plus it's only once a year a they get to do this and it was my 2 years old first time exploring with all these pumpkins :) We will definitely be coming again next year but maybe earlier in the day when it's not too hot. read more

The train ride was a bit spooky for my infant & 2 year old so I probably wouldn't take them on it again till they are older. Hay rides, hay pyramid, mazes, etc. were loved. The snow cones are good. In short? Rude staff, over priced pumpkins. The pumpkin sorting system that determines cost is a bit shady. We checked our pumpkins ahead of time, which the lady in charge clearly didn't like. Pumpkins are sorted by diameter, so we purposely tried to find tall pumpkins. More bang for your buck, right? Just trying to be smart shoppers. When my friend put a pumpkin into the $7 slot, and it fit PERFECTLY, the rude lady said "nice try... $10." and rolled her eyes. When I protested, she just repeated "ten dollars" over and over. My friend caved, but I seriously considered asking for my money back on the pumpkins I'd already purchased. Wish I had! Especially after we rolled over to belair and saw sizable pumpkins for $3! PROS: Quaint atmosphere. Small charming Mom-and-Pop-ish pumpkin farm. Pumpkins are decent quality. CONS: $6 per person entrance (aka a "Because We Can") fee. What does the $6 include? The privilege of walking through one of two mazes (a small hay maze for kids, and a corn maze for the adults), unlimited hay rides on a tractor pulled trailer, climbing a hay pyramid, and the ability to spend more money on everything else. They have a bounce-house type slide that costs the kids 50 cents per slide, and a "train" ride (not an actual train - a series of train-looking cars pulled by a tractor) through a corn field where costume dressed characters try to scare you for $2.00 per person per ride. It doesn't seem like a lot on the surface, but when you've already dropped $30 on a family of five just to walk in the door, it starts feeling like you're being nickel and dimed very quickly. The pumpkins, while again are decent in quality, are expensive. What I consider to be a "standard" size pumpkin runs $7. Get the same pumpkin at the grocery store and you're probably looking at $4 (maybe less). This is again where the $6 cover charge kills the experience. Charge me little or nothing to get in the door, and the high price tag on the merchandise suddenly doesn't sting as much. Also, they operate on a CASH ONLY basis. Of course, they have an ATM on site where you can...pay an extra fee...to get your money...to pay them. (Are you sensing a theme here?) BOTTOM LINE: If you have money to burn, live close by in Natomas and don't want to drive far for the pumpkin farm experience, this is an option. Otherwise, avoid it and spend your money at a place like Bishop's in Wheatland, where you can still drop the same amount of coin, but get much better value for your money. read more

Not to mention most of their pumpkins in early October were damaged and/or had mold on them. Then they had the audacity to charge us $30 for three medium sized pumpkins and a couple small ones. I had a bad experience with the owner. I called ahead and asked permission to visit to take quick fall photos. I introduced myself to the owner and politely thanked him for the opportunity. Not even 10 minutes of being on the property, I was told to leave. He said he changed his mind and for me to get off his property. I didnt mind paying the entrance fee. My kids had a blast and they didnt even get to all the activities in the 2.5hrs we were there. To anyone complaining about the entrance fee, please take your cheap self to sprouts for pumpkins. I hear they are $6. These people work HARD in the HEAT to bring our children entertainment and to spread fun. Please dont be that scrooge who wants to complain about an entrance fee to a seasonal patch, but wouldnt have any issue paying $7 for a dutch bros coffee. Our family is visiting from Japan and we had a blast visiting this quant little pumpkin patch. The children had so much fun on the hay rides and all of the little play areas. There was something for everyone. The adults had fun getting lost in the corn maze and the sun flower seed box was a big hit with the little ones. I would definitely recommend coming back. read more

The kids couldn't get there face painted. They couldn't ride any rides. I would never recommend this place to anybody that I know. This place is straight bullshit. From a kid perspective, it was fun. But my kids are four and two and have a good time pretty much anywhere that's remotely kid-oriented. From an adult perspective, I wasn't too impressed. I decided to take the kids here after seeing and purchasing a deal from one of those Groupon-like sites. Had I not done that, I probably would have turned around and gone home when seeing the $6/person (ages 2 and up) entrance fee. It's definitely not worth that much. Although we got there at noon (on a weekday), we had just missed the last hayride and it wasn't going to be going out anymore for the day. The train wasn't running either. The staff, however, did give me the option of coming back again on the weekend and threw in some extra tickets as well. For the $6 you pay to get in, kids should be able to go down the large, inflatable slide for free. However, they charge 50 cents or 1 ticket per slide. When we went, though, there was no one there to collect tickets, but I let my four-year-old slide down anyway. Oh well. No issues with the corn maze. It was my very first time going through one so I can't really say how it relates to others. It took about 15 minutes or so to get through walking at a slower pace. Price of the pumpkins was fair and comparable to other farms. It wasn't a bad way to spend a couple hours, but I don't think we'll be back next year. Well, I came here last year and my kids had fun. All the attractions were open and there was much more to offer. One activity that they did not have last year was the jumper. I seen from passing by prior to today that they had one avail this year for the kids. So I decided to take my kids on my only day off; Today- Thursday... And to my surprise was very disappointed because they didn't have the jumper up (the main reason I wanted to bring my kids back), some of the attractions were shut down/closed, no staff on the actual territory after paying to ask questions or inquire about anything, no fabulous face painting like the prior year, there were also no food/drinks/shaved ice to purchase neither outside of prepackaged snacks in the small barn after paying. I was looking forward to snacking on something since I am currently 8 months pregnant. I'm debating if I even want to come back to this one next year. I paid $21 for myself and my two children... But feel like it wasn't worth it. We barely stayed an hour and got through all the attractions. I was expecting to spend at least 2 hours of my evening here with my kids this year because that's about the same amount of time we stayed last year, and how long it took to get through all the attractions. In addition, I feel like if certain things are not going to be avail for display/use/etc then they shouldn't charge the full price of $7.00/person. I would have felt more comfortable just paying $5.00/person today. Mind you, it was very windy today out on this farm. So there was little bits of hay blowing everywhere during our whole visit and made the experience a bit more annoying!!!! If you don't have any glasses handy to help keep the hay out of your eyes I would NOT suggest going on a windy day. Wait, until the weather is better. Idk, maybe because I chose a "week day" over a "weekend" is why we got the shorter end of the stick for activities and attractions.... We had the worst experience at this pumpkin patch today. So bad in fact that my family of 5 turned around at the entrance booth and headed straight for Apple Hill instead. The woman collecting money for entrance fees gave the people ahead of us a good deal including a free train ride. When we asked for the same deal she gave us attitude and told us she couldn't do it for us because she "was just trying to make the sale" (to the customers in front of us). Great for little munchkins (ages 1-3). My 15-month old really enjoyed riding in the wagon with her little friend, playing at the little makeshift sets, walking around the pumpkins, and riding through the corn & hay maze. Great for little ones not so much for older kids. Be careful in the parking lot and drive super slow. Some parents do not watch over their kids. read more
