I have been with Univista for two years. First, no one who works there speaks English. They do…read morenot even answer the phone in English. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish, so there is a huge problem with communication. Next, my mortgage was sold three times in the last 18 months, and the last mortgage company decided I was uninsured so charged an extra $750 a month for home insurance. They never called or asked me, they just decided it. I already had home insurance that I had paid $3000 for through Univista. So, I have now paid for two home insurance policies because the mortgage company decided I had no insurance without even asking me. So, I suggest you only use this company if you can speak Spanish or have a translator, and be very careful that you try to check with your mortgage company separately to make sure you're not charged twice, especially if your mortgage was recently sold again. Checking with your new mortgage company is also very difficult, they do not have any real people working there, so I spent 3 hours yesterday on the phone in an unsuccessful attempt to fix this. My mother and I ran a small home insurance company in the 1960's. I can assure you the home insurance business has not improved with time.

With an open claim no insurance company will even give you a quote with the exception of Citizen. Ana Maria went above and beyond to make sure that I completed all necessary inspections, paper work and the application correctly so that I wouldn't have any issues. She held my hand, lend me her shoulder to cry on was more than patient with me with all of my phone calls and questions. Ana Maria is a true human that is not only doing this as her job but she actually cares for you. The end result was positive and Citizen approved our home owners insurance.
