I'd never been particularly athletic, but as I aged (71 yrs now), I realized that if I wanted to…read moreage WELL rather than just morph into a wheelchair-bound slug, I needed to start taking things a little more seriously and start appreciating (way more) the good health I've always enjoyed by doing something to maintain it. A friend dragged me into StrongerLife 3 yrs ago and my life hasn't been the same since. I discovered things about myself that I wouldn't have dreamed were true: StrongerLife taught me that I'm (and, helped me become) strong, more flexible, capable of lowering blood pressure and blood sugar, more energetic, walk 2-4 miles a day with ease, improve bone density and mental acuity. There are options for every movement or exercise in the event you have an injury, or are post-surgery. StrongerLife is way, way more than a gym. It's a community with classes, events, individual coaching, challenges, workshops....and, a slew of professional, accredited coaches (the founders are both Doctors of Physical Therapy) who help us to be the best "old people" we can be. Turns out: StrongerLifers don't think of themselves as old anymore. Many of us (including me) feel we're living our best lives Right Now! We're vibrant, motivated, gain so much social interaction with good friends we've come to love so much. ALL of these things are making my "golden years" gloriously enjoyable. I hope you'll give StrongerLife a try! By the way: A group of us walk every Wednesday morning at 9am throughout the Kenwick neighborhood. You don't have to be a member of Strongerlife to join us, so....JOIN US!! We walk two miles, then retire to Kenwick Table for tea, coffee, croissants, muffins and excellent camaraderie. Make StrongerLife part of YOUR life!

This is a great place to work out. They do a semi-personal training style wherein they show you…read morethe exercises you are supposed to do and how to do them and then let you off to go do them. This isn't the kind of place where they are in your face the whole time. I have been coming here for 5 months as of now and I can tell you I feel a lot stronger and in much better physical condition. They custom tailor the workouts to fit your needs and wants. There are several people here from all different ages and physical conditions. They also help people who are recovering from injuries. They also offer some classes in the evening, though I don't know much about them because I can only work out in the morning. I have never stuck with a personal trainer or even on specific gym for as long as I have here. I like the staff and they make each day different so you don't plateau or get bored. I like this place so much that now my mother in law, sister in law, and even one of her friends and their mother come too.

All I do is moan and complain when working out at Lift. It's torture-not good torture, wet (like…read morewater-boarded with my own sweat), an hour of something I imagine resembling hell. But you know what, for some reason, I return, at least once each week, for more. The staff - fun, knowledgeable, and relaxed. The space - a nicely converted garage, not too big, not too small. The equipment - modern, well maintained, cleaned regularly. The clientele - other than myself, respectable, varied in age, body-type, agility, and athleticism, with a good gender balance. The workout plan - classes (mornings, evenings, and weekends) of 15-20 pain lovers do an hour of circuit training, muscle confusion centered, varied exercises, with little rest, and with lots of music. Pay as you go, buy a 10 pack (my preference) or pay per month for unlimited. Clients also have the option to pay a premium for one on one training per appointment. Regular doses of this stuff help keep a boy/girl sane, and regular doses of this lead to a well earned visit to one our Yelp favorites for food and drink. It's all part of the grand and tasty cycle of life.

The management at this location needs to be investigated immediately. Her name is ABIGAIL BLOSS…read more On June 30, 2026, at approximately 5:30 PM at the 250 Life Ln, Lexington, KY location, a woman who identified herself as the manager got extremely close to my face, yelled at me, cursed at me, and behaved in a way that made me feel as though she was about to physically fight me. This occurred in the middle of the gym in front of other members. She made unprofessional remarks including "ya mama" and "I don't care, I'm still getting paid," along with other disrespectful comments. She was not wearing Planet Fitness clothing, so I am unsure whether she was officially on duty, but she repeatedly stated that she was the manager. This behavior is completely unacceptable for anyone representing Planet Fitness. Regardless of the circumstances, no employee or manager should yell at, curse at, intimidate, or aggressively confront a member. If corporate reviews this incident, they should identify the individual who was acting as manager at that time and investigate using security camera footage and witness statements. I will be filing a formal complaint with Planet Fitness corporate. I hope this incident is taken seriously so that no other member has to experience this kind of treatment. UPDATE (July 1st 2026): I've tried multiple times to contact the home club itself (250 life ln lex ky) and the managers refuse to speak to me on the phone. They've also blocked multiple numbers I've called from. They are not willing to help or inform me on how I can file a formal complaint. They also refused to give me the full name of the general and regional managers. But I do know that their names are Reina and Porsha. I've been told they will contact me today so we shall see. UPDATE (July 2nd 2026): I finally was able to speak with REINA the general manager. I was told corporate already handled it, that IM BANNED from all 3 location, and nothing is going to happen to ABIGAIL BLOSS. She was "on call" but in workout clothes and working out "on call" because apparently they can workout "on call" and still be a manager on their lunch breaks whenever they want. That's what I got out of that conversation. Mind you, I've only been a member at PF for only about a MONTH!! I've never been to PF before in my life, I don't know their policy's, rules or regulations, I am a NEW member. And within a month I'm banned from all 3 locations I can't even imagine how badly they've treated their other members if this is how badly they treat a member who's only been there for ONE MONTH! This is a very unfortunate situation for PF, because it just shows what type of people they are willing to have on their team representing them and their business. Apparently they have looked into it and they are "just done with the situation" and don't want to deal with it anymore. They have to "stick up for their employees" of course, so it doesn't look bad on them and their business. No one from corporate has reached out to me personally, but apparently they have gotten my request and have handled it. I will continue to reach out to corporate and speak to PORSHA the regional manager and whom ever I can get in contact with, because I truly believe that this woman needs to be TERMINATED INDEFINITELY. All that said to say that I would not recommend this gym, or any of the locations, because ABIGAIL BLOSS works at all 3 locations (life ln, Bryan station, and E Lowry ln). And with her being there I would not feel safe as a member. I would not spend my hard earned money on such an establishment that treats their members this way, and doesn't have any consequences for their actions. They are very unprofessional, the gym is either super hot or super cold, the bathrooms are dirty, majority of the complaints and one star reviews from other members still stand to this day, parking is difficult, it is very packed, the front desk worker tried to hit on me, this is more so a hookup place rather than a gym, and obviously their management is BS.

I stopped by this new location - I wanted to see the set up. Pauline was courteous and helpful. She…read morewalked me thru the different areas and explained what they offer - it is nice/clean set up different from the other Lexington locations. Of note this location is cashless, you have to download the app to you phone to use for everything - I personally do not like this feature due to I have walked off and left my phone elsewhere and would hate to drive back to go get in order to scan in, use equipment or scan to see the machine instructions. I also do not like that if I go to another PF location more than the location you signed up for they can charge you. I work in a different city almost an hour away and wanted to be able to stop (sometimes travel to other states for work) in after work before the long drive home. Definitely pros and cons around membership.

Holy Moly! Love this gym. Great customer service, greetings…read moreat the front desk, fresh clean towels. All the weight machines and exercise programs you could ever want! This is number two on my favorite all time gyms i have been to, topped only by the Claremont Club in California. Hard to beat. 5 big stars for you!

My husband had a membership at LAC, and when we moved in December, he went online to cancel. The cancellation tab was not working (website issue) so he called LAC to figure out how to proceed. The employee told him to email a specific address and request cancellation. After doing so, he called back to ask if there was anything else he needed to do. Another employee told him there was nothing else for him to do and that his membership would be canceled. In January, we received a charge for him membership. He called LAC and inquired about the charge. They told him that his account was still open and that they would close it and cancel the charge. The charge was never canceled. In February, we did not receive a charge. On march 6th, he received a call from an employee named Lizzie, who told him that they made a mistake and didn't charge him for February, but that his account was still open and they would be charging him for February and March. Over the span of several calls with Isaac and Jordan later that day to dispute this, we were told that "the best way to cancel is to come in person". We had been moved out of Lexington for months at this point and it would have been extremely inconvenient for us to make a trip solely to cancel his membership. We explained this to them and they said they would cancel it. We asked for a refund for January- March and they said they would get back to us. On March 10th, I called to check in as I had not heard back. I was told that the health department was there that day so they were unable to help me? Isaac told me to forward the emails that we had sent back in December to his email. When I sent them over he replied "oh yeah, it makes sense why this was never seen. That guy left shortly after this was sent." Poor management on their end for this to be the answer we were given. Isaac told me that he would talk to Jordan since he dealt with issues as such and that I'd be receiving a call from him. I was never called, so I reached out again on March 22nd and was told Jordan was not in office. I reached out again the next day and was told by Jordan that he would report the issue to corporate. And when he looked at our account, he said it was still open?? After several conversations about getting out account closed it was still open?? He said he would escalate the closing of the account, whatever that means? Anyways, we were told we would be hearing from corporate soon. Fast forward to today, I still haven't heard back, so I called and was told by Isaac "great news! Your account is finally closed!" This was frustrating to hear as it should have been closed months ago. I told him that I was actually calling to inquire about my refund and see if corporate had gotten back to them. He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and said that would have to be managed by them. He told me he would talk to Jordan and get back to me. I'm sure I won't hear back from them as they have not initiated a single call that they have promised. Aside from management, the facility was not wonderful. My husband had also signed up for swimming lessons through one of their instructors. The communication leading up to the lesson was horrible, and then the instructor never showed up? He called and no answer. She called back several days later with no apology or explanation for her no show, and rescheduled. My husband said she was extremely passive aggressive during the lesson. My husband and I are not the type to complain- we try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and find the good in each situation. However, I am so frustrated with this facility. The monthly membership is far too expensive to be treated like this.
