They have a huge range of stock, including fresh organic fruit and vegetables, cold goods and supplements in a surprisingly large store. The assistants are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you might have. I go in for their supply of 'Lentilicious,' one of the many locally produced products for healthy living they have in store and their organic fair trade coffee. Even if you aren't sold on organic foods, its a great place to find healthy, nutritious food stuff.

This mainly due to the size allowing them to really fill up the place with a wide variety of goods. I am used to health food stores being the size of boutiques, not much larger than and average sized bedroom kind of thing. Surprisingly, 'Mrs Flannery's' is the size of a small IGA or your local food store. It has a few aisles like the ones you find at the Supermarket! Here you will find, organic cereal, wide range of nuts and whole grains as well as natural household and beauty products. I am fond of their peanut butter which is literally grounded peanuts with no additives, preservatives and flavourings. Of course shopping here is not as cheap as the local supermarket but you feel so good about yourself for being so healthy after shopping here. I obviously would not do my entire groceries here as that would burn a hole in my pocket though. 'Mrs Flannery's' is a must for anyone into natural health and organic foods who lives around the 'Taringa' area. You will not be disappointed by the range this place has to offer.

This store is amply stocked with a range of fresh organic fruits and veges, herbal supplements, lovely looking makeup, skin and hair care, cleaning products, teas, meats, snacks, sauces and breads. (Phew!) They also have this fantastic back section dedicated to bulk foods. (Think LSA mix, fruits, nuts, flaxseed meal, seeds and other natural goodies.) Be sure to try out their range of made to order fresh juices as well as the yummy organic takeaway lunches (vegan and gluten free!) This is one of my favourite pit stops when out and about and well worth a visit when in New Farm.

Sun & Earth Organics is a great place to start if you are in need of some healthy options and inspiration in your life. The store on Brunswick Street houses everything you could imagine in terms of healthy lifestyle and dietary choices. From dried fruits and fair trade coffee beans, to pour-your-own organic laundry liquid. Sun & Earth really does remind you of how many great, healthy alternatives there are. With the busy lifestyle I lead, I often get caught up eating on the run and not really making the best choices about my diet. I think I will incorporate Sun & Earth into my weekly grocery shopping routine to make the health kick habitual. Believe me, the produce in Sun & Earth is enough to make your mouth water as much as any burger shop walk-by. If you are a health nut, in need of a boost in your dietary health, or simply wanting to embrace a more organic lifestyle, then I highly recommend you pop into Sun & Earth Organics.

This…read moreis a spot of the smuggest of your health food desires to emerge and be openly out and proud, and while it may be a smaller store for a Flannery's, there's still plenty to feel virtuous about. They stock the general range of health foods, bulk-buy grains, a small fresh produce and deli section and plenty of vitamins and such. The staff on the day that I visited weren't as hands on as other Flannery's I've visited and it seems, as I was, to be a shop to go when you know what you want already. Still, there's enough to keep you wandering to stray from your shopping list. I have two sachets of coconut butter to prove it. TL; DR? An amply stocked local health food store. Great for specifically wanted items and often worth calling before you visit to ensure it's in stock.

The stores are almost supermarket sized, and the Chermside store is no different. It stocks a huge range of products including coffee, nuts, grains, flours, dairy, frozen meals, skin care, vitamins and household products. They stock a full range of environmentally and allergy friendly cleaning products and household products. Whatever your allergy, there are products to suit your needs. Gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, vegan, organic - they have it all. A huge range of products can be purchased by weight, so you can buy as much or as little as you need in brown paper bags, making it environmentally friendly too. There is every kind of flour imaginable - regular, wholemeal, spelt, maize, chickpea. They stock 3 types of Quinoa, which is my favourite grain substitute at the moment. I always stock up on the soy crisps, Japanese rice crackers and dried vegetable crisps. I also recommend filling up a brown bag full of French Vanilla Granola clusters. It's not the cheapest store, and I wouldn't do a full grocery shop there, but it's great for those speciality items. And if you or your family suffer from allergies or food intolerance, this store will make your life a lot easier.

I would highly recommend that you drive the extra half a kilometre to Terry White in Coorparoo in…read morepreference to patronising this self-aggrandising team of unprofessional and offensive people. The mature-aged female pharmacist discusses extremely sensitive and confidential information about patient prescriptions openly and loudly in front of other customers, takes it upon herself to contact prescribing doctors without patient consent in order to discuss very clear dispensing guidelines provided by the prescribing doctor (keeping in mind she is NOT a doctor), and she incorrectly dispenses smaller amounts of prescription medication than the doctor has authorised, presumably as an act of spite for being called-out on her unprofessional behaviour. It's her job to do as the doctor says--not recklessly alter the prescription. This behaviour constitutes misconduct. Accordingly, I have contacted the pharmacy registration board for an investigation into this person. Also, there's another person who works for this pharmacy, a mature-aged woman named 'Megan'. 'Megan' is not a pharmacist or doctor, yet pretends to be. I have contacted the pharmacy a number of times to discuss prescriptions that my treating doctor emails and faxes to this pharmacy. On a number of occasions, 'Megan' has demanded to know what medications I am taking and has claimed to 'know exactly what that medication is'. She has also demanded to know exactly when medication is going to be picked-up, despite knowing that I suffer from severe chronic illness, and consequently, am relying on the goodwill of a close friend to collect them on my behalf--therefore, I cannot provide 'exact times'. This type of person could cause serious harm to someone who believes her to be in possession of skills and qualifications that she does not have in the event that they misconstrue her advice for that of a professional. Give this pharmacy a very wide berth if you value your own and your family's health.

Half the fun of visiting is wandering the small but well stocked aisles to look at what products are there. For example, the toothbrushes made from recycled yoghurt containers I carried home from Wholefoods in the US - stocked here. Plus, the owners have branched out into a humble but delicious cafe where you can enjoy eats like the mushroom and mango salsa burger (DELICIOUS) or a sweet treat (like chocolate ganache cheesecake - totally vegan) from the cake cabinet. The coffee, Sacred Grounds, is organic fair trade and not like any blend I've tasted. Plus for those of us that can't handle too much lactose, I'm 99% sure my flat white was made on soy or almond milk which gave it an interestingly pleasant taste and yet no after effects of too much milk.
