Nor have I ever experienced the chilling feeling that I might be being driven by a psychotic murderer-a not unfamiliar sensation in London mini-cabs. At very little extra charge they will pick up furniture in their large estate cars from anywhere in London-infinitely cheaper than a man with a van. When the driver was already at the airport, I got a call from my parents to say that they had been moved to a later flight which wouldn't be arriving until the next day. I went online to arrange a pick up for the following day, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had not been charged for the initial booking. That was a nice touch, especially because the driver had been waiting for a long time, and ensured that I will book with Direct Cars every time I need a collection from the airport. As well as the great service they were the cheapest of all the quotes I got from the Kabbee website.

They seem to have an ample stock of car seats and booster seats and they're always patient with our slow-moving toddler load-in process. Minor complaints: although the cars are always comfortable and clean, they're usually a little old on the older side; and if you book in advance, they often turn up 5 to 10 minutes before the agreed-upon time. Obviously a minicab being too punctual isn't the worse complaint in the world.

Both pickups were easy. On day of pickup at LHR I got a text alert from Blackberry & the driver regarding where the car was and estimated arrival time. The driver met us at the suggested meeting place at LHR on time. Ditto Southampton cruise terminal pickup with a drop off at our London hotel. I'd booked with Blackberry if I'm ever in London again.
