What I'm not ok with is buying an item x 2 getting them home and the next day riddled with mold. Now what was aggravating was reaching out through their app to report the product zero response. After a week or so I tried reaching out again, I went online and everything I found was a circle of ridiculous. Finally found the ceo and sent him an email and explained what happened. Can't believe I had to annoy someone into doing their job, feigning care is straight worse than just not caring by the way. While I at least heard back the response was lackadaisical and lacking concern for this issue, imagine my complete lack of surprise there. People choose to spend their money at businesses for various reasons, I went here for quality products and even confirmed they had what I needed before driving there. While Sprouts is not my daily/weekly store I do go here a fair amount. So that response let me know they don't need my business or want my money and I'm ok with that.

I have been a very loyal customer and have supported this store for many many years. Over the past…read morethirty years, I have spent thousands of dollars with Akin's. Two recent "incidents" changed my mind and my 30 years of loyalty. 1. Fontana Shopping Center management recently hired a new security guard service, PHD Security, phdsecurityservices.com. I was visiting this store one afternoon. I had made my purchases at Akin's and then walked out to my car. I was surprised to see a PHD Security officer parked behind my car. He asked me if it was my car to which I replied that it was. He then threatened me repeatedly with putting a parking "boot" on my car. I mentioned that I am a regular Akin's customer and park in the designated Fontana Shopping Center parking center when I visit the store. That didn't make a hill of different to the rent-a-cop who continued with his threats. This past friday I noticed this so-called PHD "Security" service patrolling the Fontana Parking Lot again so I turned my little self around and went home. I don't need the hassle of a rent-a-cop threatening to steal CUSTOMER'S cars/SUVs/trucks for fun and profit. There are too many other shopping centers in Tulsa that roll out the red carpet for their customers and their customer's money. 2. Day before yesterday I purchased a Pumpkin Spice Smoothie which had a posted price of $5.99. I have the Akin's cash register receipts to show that they had previously honored this price for their customers. Two days ago, however, the store manager said the correct price was $7.99 because it was "Smoothie of the Month". I raised my concerns concerning the pricing discrepancy, however she would not be moved and continued with the $7.99 so I ultimately paid the $7.99 and left the store. Today, I wanted to purchase a Pumpkin Spice Smoothie because I like the flavor. When I went to the smoothie bar, I saw that management had posted a price for another smoothie on the board but had not posted any pricing for the Pumpkin Spice Smoothie. So I then took the menu board to show Debbie, the store manager the pricing problem. She agreed that I had previously been overcharged and said they would NOW honor the $5.99 price if I ordered it again. She did not offer to refund the $2.00 from the previous overcharged smoothie. Debbie then began to raise her voice and became angry with me and said, "I told you THREE TIMES I would fix this just for you". She grew angrier and more hostile with me by the second. All she had to do was reach into her cash register and give me two dollars and I would have been a happy camper. Instead all I got was an increasingly hostile attitude. Enough is enough, if this is how Akin's Natural Foods store managers choose to treat their 30++ year LOYAL customers, I will take my money and shop elsewhere.

I am a little annoyed with them. On-line they were supposed to stock Authentic Foods brand flour and they had never heard of it. They told me their store in Bixby would probably have it. First on the list after the plane lands and I suffer through the rental car line is finding a natural grocery store or co-op. Yeah, I could have the hotel breakfast...but why not grab some organic kefir and a piece of seasonal fruit? I could suffer through a greasy, fast food lunch OR...I could grab a protein bar and chillax at the salad bar during my break. You get my drift. Plus, I hate checking bags on the way TO my work destination so I always find that I'm lacking in some lavender body lotion or good chapstick (damn the 3+3+3 rule!). My first trip to Tulsa threw me for a loop, and it took me a whole day to find the Akins. Here's hoping that yelp helps you find it more quickly. I was super-impressed with both the prices and the selection. All the patchouli-laden goodness of the PNW, none of the hippies! Now I call that a win-win! I ended up stopping by the store after the work day each day I was in town just to soak up the atmosphere and marvel at all the local, good food that had to stock the shelves. Thank you for making it possible to still travel like a human, Akins!

The antithesis of my preferred milieus of grungy Mexican restaurants and back road country cafes. Yet, here I am at the counter, with my wife ordering food, that I anticipate will taste like sawdust and fermented alfalfa juice. Why? Due to her upcoming gallbladder surgery, my wife is (temporarily) on a no red meat, low fat, low sugar, low spice, low everything diet. A, this kind of a place diet. [Oh Sh*t, I think I may have just violated a HIPAA law] The store offers breads, coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, salads and soups, and of course, avocado toast. A no brainer for me; the closest thing that I could find to normal food, a roast beef sandwich. Add Kimchi Mustard. Not sure what that will taste like, but with kimchi it can't be too bad. My wife had the chicken broth bowl with rice and all the adds described on the menu. With her meal, a couple of thick slices of the house bread. Hold the butter, tallow or avocado oil. Doctor's order. The roast beef sandwich was an explosion of deliciousness. Tender juicy beef, pickles, a few green plant looking sprigs and that kimchi mustard. Try the kimchi mustard! An amazing unique sandwich. I could even go "a hidden gem of a sandwich." My wife's broth, mild, flavorful just right for her diet. Not as dangerously spicey as my sandwich. The bread here, is an event by itself. Order at the counter. Helpful, friendly service at the counter. If the weather is nice, like today, enjoy the patio. God, I hope none of my buddies who eat at BBD2 Diner next door saw me.
