Worst loan company I've ever dealt with. I purchased a car on April 24 in Arizona and brought it into California on April 28. When I went to the DMV on May 13 to register it, I found out that GM Financial had not even initiated the title transfer. Apparently, they don't automatically start this process when a loan is opened, you have to call and request it yourself. This is completely ridiculous, and unless you're a dealership, you'd have no reason to know that. After finally getting them to initiate it, they told me it would take 5-8 weeks just to mail the title, which is somehow "part of their process." According to the tracking number, the title was finally delivered to the DMV on June 10, nearly 7 weeks after I brought the car into California. Despite me explicitly providing the correct address for my local DMV office, GM Financial ignored my instructions and sent the title to DMV headquarters, which does not process public transactions and does not forward documents to local offices. I later found out this happened because the address I initially gave was a PO Box (which FedEx can't deliver to), and instead of calling to clarify or request a different address, they just made an assumption and sent it to the wrong place which is what got us into this mess. At my DMV appointment on June 17, I was told DMV headquarters was still opening mail from June 1, meaning my title is stuck in a backlog. Once they get to it, they'll send it back to GM Financial, and per GM's customer service, that restarts the entire process, potentially another 5-8 week delay with no guarantee they'll send it to the right location this time either. Since then, I've called multiple times (5/13, 6/17, 6/19, 7/2, 7/23, and 7/29) and submitted relocation request forms twice (the second of which they claim never went through.) I've received zero proactive communication, every piece of information I've gotten has been through my own hour-long calls. When I finally asked to speak to a supervisor on 7/29, I had to push just to get escalated. Only then was I told, for the first time, that they could request a duplicate title from Arizona, which apparently could take another 6-8 weeks just to receive and an additional 6-8 weeks for GM to process on their end. My vehicle legally needed to be registered by July 27, 2025 (90 days from April 28), and because of GM Financial's continued negligence, I am now past that deadline and at risk of registration penalties, fines, and being unable to legally drive the car I'm actively making payments on. Any fees incurred as a result of this will be their responsibility. Avoid GM Financial at all costs. Their customer service is careless, their process is broken, and they take zero accountability for the messes they create. Worst experience I've ever had with a loan company. I have already sent a formal letter of intent to pursue legal action against GM Financial, and I will hold them fully liable for the financial and legal consequences of their repeated failures. And to GM Financial: Don't bother commenting asking me to reach out to your social media team, I've already done that, and nothing came of it. There is still no resolution. If you respond here with a generic comment asking me to contact you, it will be clear you didn't even read this review and are just copying and pasting a standard reply -- which perfectly sums up your customer service experience. read more

This has to be some of the worst customer service that I've ever had! Just a bunch of bumbling idiots who cannot do anything more than read a script. No idea of how to advise on any questions. Nothing more than hiring people who wear a name tag and a headset. Find anywhere or anyway else to finance your vehicle. This is nothing but a huge hassle. read more

It's amazing how fast they can take out money for your account but cannot reverse the charges when I refinanced my car to a different investor. It's going on 2 months and still have not received my refund. I called several times and they just keep telling my to have patients, you think they would have patients if they don't receive their money!!!! Another example how Big corporates with Big money try's to rip off the most vulnerable!!!! read more

With any finance company, you need to make sure to pay on time. Common sense! I want to personally thank Maritza G at this company because I have been having some serious family related issues and have fallen behind the last two months and I explained to her what happened. I was not judged or yelled at like other companies. She was so nice and even wrote a note to me and mailed it all the way to Miami. It brightened up my day and gave me the strength I needed. Sometimes the little things like is what we need to be reminded and her service is impeccable! I also have never had a problem with the company all around. I am usually early on payments too so no one bothers me but like I said, definitely a great company. read more

GM Financial - Financial Advising Near Me - Arlington, Texas

I would give a ZERO if I could... I had my lease on auto-pay and it was somehow turned off and they reported to the credit bureaus without notifying me after two years of paying on time. My credit score was impacted significantly. I called and they said that they had to report it, it's against the law not to even though it was not my fault. I let that one slide. Turned my auto-pay back on. Fast forward to end of lease. I turned in my car and got a letter saying they received it, will do a comprehensive review and mail me a bill. Again, my account is on auto-pay with paperless statements but OK, I'll wait for a bill to come in the mail. I get a notification from Experian that they reported a 30 day late payment on my account. Mind you, it was already closed and at a zero balance. No calls, no email, no bill in the mail, no nothing. Instead, GM Financial opted to report a late payment AGAIN! My credit score went down again because this lender is too incompetent to send a bill or even contact me - with multiple channels as an option. I called and asked for them to send the bill via email and they said they can only mail it. It's 2020 last time I checked and I am a paperless statement customer. RIDICULOUS! I still haven't received the bill but I know the balance is roughly $1,000 more than it should be. Reading other reviews, I am sure there are a bunch of fees that I should not have to pay in the first place. Needless to say, I will never lease with them again. I loved my car but, PLEASE seek other financing options if you get a GM vehicle for the reasons below. - Terrible customer Service - Unreliable Technology - Questionable business practices read more

Just received a bill for a disposition fee. 495.00 + tax. After more than 20 years of buying or leasing vehicles. Now for the first time I am being punished for turning in a lease vehicle with only 22,000 miles on it, after all payments made and on time. Loyalty goes away when you can no longer afford their vehicles. Called for help got none. Sorry I ever bought a gm product. It will not happen again. Charlie W. read more

Worst customer service. When trying to buy our your lease GM Financial will not work with the bank. They will say they sent over the buy out letter and never would. It took over 2 months to buy out a lease through GM financial. They got my pay off check and said since I just made a payment they would reimburse it. Now they are saying they put the money towards the buy out. So now they are over paid and keeping the money. Do not go through GM Financial!!! read more

If one were to have no issues at all, GM Financial is great. But the moment you have an issue, they are useless.

Will never finance with them ever again. Terrible customer service and high rates!!! Stay away!

I have been in the process of assuming a lease from one of their customers. It started on 12/28/17. We have been approved and I have to make payments as of 2/1/18. However they will not do the paperwork to register the car until 2/20/28. My DMV has been very helpful but I need a document showing my name for the lease. GM WILL DO NOTHING TO HELP. "We have a process and there is nothing we can do." The documents are scanned and all they have to do is email me a copy. Nope can't do it. I want to speak to a Manager - Nope not in. 2 years ago I Leased A CADILLAC SRX from GM. So this will be my second lease with them. With this kind of lousy customer service I can assure them this will be the last time I will buy or lease any of your cars. What a waste of a good customer. Very disappointed. read more

I have been waiting for over 30 days for GM Financial to update my credit reports to reflect my auto lease has been paid in full, and the account has been closed. I have sent 2 written letters that this be done, but GM Financial has chosen to completely ignore them. I always paid ahead of time, and I was never late. Note: GM Financial is the only company which has not updated their trade line on my credit reports. An out-of-date trade line is an inaccurate trade line on a credit report. Obviously, GM Financial did not appreciate my business. Based on the circumstances, it appears I will have to file suit against GM Financial for monetary damages and injunctive relief. read more

I have contacted GM several times over the past year regarding online bill pay issues and my issue has never been resolved. In the past year, the payment system had issues, went down, reported the incorrect amounts due, the auto pay stopped working for us on only 1 of our accounts (we have 2 loans through GM and money is taken out of same bank account). I have attempted to resolve this issue several times with no success due to never being able to figure out what the issue is through the customer service team. Now my credit report states that I have been late in March, June, and July. I have another account through GM with the same bank account, we have never been late. This account is the only one I've had issues with and getting them resolved seems impossible. My perfect credit score has been ruined from this experience. The lack of customer service is appalling and uncalled for. I just spoke with a woman on the phone who did not listen to a word I said and basically told me I was lying about what I was telling her and arguing with me at every turn. Instead of trying to understand, she just kept interrupting me and finally I asked to speak with a manager. I was transferred to Will who was equally as unhelpful. Previously a few weeks ago I spoke with a man in customer service who told us that the past due amount was $40 and we could pay it online and all would be fine and all would be caught up. He never said that we had a past due PAYMENT. We paid the amount and now the system says we owe over $1000. Because of this, my credit score has been affected and I believe that is unfair due to the fact that I have been calling in and communicating via this online system and still am having issues that clearly haven't been resolved. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had paying any of my bills. I'd like to have this resolved immediately however the only thing I am hearing from the customer service department is "I understand, there's nothing we can do over the phone." I'm furious and will be looking to transfer my loan and will never use GM Financial again due to the horrible experience I have had with their customer service team. NEVER USE THEM!!!!!! Will and Aretha were NO help and were HORRIBLE customer service agents. They interrupted, didn't resolve the issues, and were unprofessional. read more

AVOID GM financing. High interest rate with terrible customer service. Shop somewhere else and avoid them.

Alright where to start, first and foremost I have leased 2 GM vehicles and bought a 3rd GM. One of the leases I was 3000 miles over the limit so I bought it, the 2nd lease gets tricky. The 2nd lease I told the dealership from the very beginning I was going to turn the car back in and not buy it. So I turned it back in, around 5 months after I turned in the lease I received a letter from GM Financial stating I owe them 495 plus CA tax. I had the dealership in question sign off that the lease was in great condition paperwork proving. This 495 charge was described as disposition charge? Talk about frustrating. Not knowing what this charge was... Since this is the first time in my life I turned in a leased car and was very surprised to get this bill. So I called GM Financial directly to inquire, they explained to me on line 4 of my lease agreement that I signed at the dealership was a 495 dollar fee. I explained to them that I verbally asked the finance person before I signed the agreement if there was any other charges to be charged when I turned the car in and was verbally told no. The person at GM Financial I was talking to, told me that he could not totally waive the 495 fee but offered a reduction to 195. Which was fine by me with a 6 payment arrangement. In the course of my conversation I told him that I was starting a new business in the near future and my credit rating was very important to me. Well come to find out TODAY that one of the credit agencies was sent information that the 500 dollar charge plus tax bill was in dispute. I'm extremely disappointed with GM knowing that my credit score was very important to me; I was very able to pay the 195 up front and wasn't told this would hit my credit in any way if there were payment arrangements which were agreed upon. BUYER BEWARE if they give you a payment plan just know that your credit will be affected. read more

I have never ever did business with a company that outsources their customer requests and cannot provide a paid in full letter timely. After speaking to Marcus agent id 38396 he was totally NOT helpful and did not attempt to escalate my request. But, the Rep Linda offered to email vendor to get me a letter. Totally sad that customer has to make multiple calls to this establishment. Now I run the risk of not getting my new warranty today due to this unconcerned company. Will never do business with them ever again. read more

I leased a car through GM Financial. I was never late on a payment. Following my end of lease, I was notified that I owed approx. $1000 for both the termination fee and wear and tear fees. I had no problem paying these fees, however, I requested a breakdown for my records. I never received a paper copy or online breakdown of specifically what these fees were for. Eventually I received a call from their collections department. Again, I informed them that I had no problem paying the fee, just provide me with a statement. They indicated they would send one out. After 30 days or so, I received another call from collections informing me that my account was delinquent and would be reported to the credit bureaus. After informing them that I was still waiting on a statement, I was told that do do not provide end of lease statements. I needed to see a breakdown of charges from the inspection company, as well as checking my original contract to see what my lease termination fee was. Since it was GM Financial billing me, I don't think it was too much to request a final statement. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that if a supervisor didn't pick up in 10 minutes, I would have to call back at a later time. I never got a supervisor so I just paid the bill in full without any statement. Never again will I deal with this company. read more

I am not impressed with GM they say there about helping but when you take all necessary steps to do the right thing they are not willing to try to help. I get I am sorry this systems won't let them your systems are shit and so are you guys we have multiple loans with you even paid a car off with you guys and this is the customer service treatment we get . I will not get another LOAN from you because your piss poor customer service and the unwillingness to make things right is beyond me. I typically don't go on rants but when you been with a company as long as we have we have every right to voice our concerns. I am still in shocked really that I get I am sorry nothing we can do, you truly do not mean that so stop using those tired ass lines to someone that don't know about customer service. When me and husband get this paid off or switching the loan off to someone that maybe know a little bit more about customer service you should really be ASHAMED! I would suggest anyone looking to get a loan from these guys think long and hard before you do, because we have had loans with them with one car being paid off thru them. There customer service is not customer service what a fucking joke you are! read more

Recently refinanced an auto loan from GM Financial to my personal bank. GM Financial quoted the payoff and my bank verified and sent the payoff amount before the payoff expiration. Well I still have a balance with GM Financial that I was never informed about which is also adding interest. I found out about this balance because my bank never received the title from GM Financial. I called GM Financial to find out why this has happened and not surprised to find out that not a single person at GM Financial could tell me why this happened. So I am left to pay the balance (plus interest) before they will release the title to my bank. Which I must pay before they add more interest. Also they tell me it will be faster if I pay to overnight the payment to them rather than pay over the phone or online. How in the world is mail service faster than over the phone or online? If I could give them negative stars I would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GM FINANCIAL TO ANYONE! They are worse than parking meter cops and ISIS! read more
