He stayed in Chicago, receiving his Advanced Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Illinois. Dr. Leslie N. Glupker has also joined Glupker Orthodontics. She graduated from Zeeland High School and completed a major in Biology Life Sciences at the University of Findlay in Ohio. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Indiana University School of Dentistry. From the moment we walked into her office for our first visit today, our expectations were not only met but far exceeded. Dr. Mailloux took the time to address long-standing concerns we've had with our youngest son's tongue tie--something we've struggled to get a resolution to over the years. She explained how the tongue tie may be impacting his speech and may even be contributing to crowding in his teeth. Not only did she take the time to thoroughly explain these connections, but she also provided us with a referral to a speech therapist who can help strengthen his tongue muscle and work on mouth motor skills. She even gave us practical tips for at-home exercises, including the use of a particular straw to support tongue strengthening. After years of feeling unheard by other professionals, it was such a relief to finally have someone who understood and provided real answers. She also went above and beyond in discussing how our older son's mouth breathing could be directly linked to his sleep issues and even his ADHD. Dr. Mailloux shared two book recommendations to help us better understand the negative impacts of mouth breathing and how beneficial it is to retrain the body to breathe through the nose. Her in-depth explanation and holistic approach gave us hope and clarity we've been searching for. What truly stood out was the time she spent with us. She listened intently, explained everything in detail, and made us feel seen, heard, and understood.
