The purposely took a longer drive to the location and didn't follow us adding 35 minutes to the charges. When asked, Sal lied and said there was extreme traffic on the highway to which I replied no there wasn't. I pulled over and waited for you and you missed my exit. He just shrugged his shoulders. They also have somebody new who can't back up a trailer to save his life. I wasted at least another 20 to 30 minutes watching him try to jockey a trailer. All those things would be fine if they didn't include them in my charge, but I got charged an extra hour for all this crud. Oh no, they did the job, but I can't say I was confident or happy at all during the process.

I spoke with him about having the attic roof deck insulated about 3 weeks ago. I gave him the specifics of the job, he gave me a price over the phone and I told him it sounded good and to get it on the schedule. He said that he had an opening. In 3 weeks and he'll put me in and that if any jobs finished early, he'd give me a call. I hadn't heard from Bob and since we are at the 3 week mark, I thought I would touch base. I got Bob on the phone, gave him my information and got disconnected (Incompetent Bob likely has difficulty with complicated things like telephones). I called back and again explained who I am and I got the World Famous Backed Up run around. He suggested I call someone else seeing how they are so backed up. I told Bob that it would have been reasonable for him to call his scheduled customers to inform them of such difficulty. Of course, this is Incompetent Bob, so he couldn't help but give the distinct impression that he had no idea who I was or what I was talking about. I couldn't help but press the issue with Incompetent Bob. He asked my name again and where I was from and said that he had 15 people on his list and I'm not one of them. Quickly devolving to Nincompoop Bob, I had to press the issue. "Let's be honest Bob; you have no idea what in the world I'm talking about do you?" to which Bob had no choice but to respond "No sir, I don't." And there we have the crux of the matter of Incompetent Bob; if you're one of the 15 or plan to be, give Bob a hand and call him every day since he has yet to figure out the working end of a pencil.

My main requirement is to get a tight air seal between the house and the attics to prevent heat flow in the winter with the goal of reducing ice dams and energy costs. Because of the complexity of our attics, he was unable to provide a fixed price bid so I agreed to T&M charges; Bob provided his material and labor costs so I was able to get a ballpark estimate worked out. Darry and his crew showed up and did the work two days ago. They were very respectful to our house and furnishings when bringing in their equipment and there was no foam or dirt left behind (except for two cigarette butts on the driveway). Darry paid close attention to our requirements and met them perfectly. He made a couple of suggestions on how to improve the job and we went with his ideas which turned out well. I looked at quite a few foam companies in the area and decided to go with Airseal after reading reviews and talking to customers. The house immediately feels tighter and is definitely quieter. There were no outgassing fumes in the living space that I could detect the evening of the work. I worked with a handyman earlier this summer to install rock wool Tenmat covers over all of our recessed lights and to make site-built baffles in each rafter bay replacing the old cardboard baffles which were falling down. They also did a complete clean-up of the attics removing old construction debris, wire, old insulation, etc. Darry said all of the prep work made his job go a lot faster and smoother. It really pays to get things ready before Bob's crew shows up. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work and the results. I highly recommend Airseal Insulation. In addition, Bob's a real character, an all-around good guy, and fun to talk to.

The roofing material was the best among the bids. They were a bit above the low bid, and half the price of the high bid. After reviewing all the bids, it was clear Summit was the team we wanted to work with. They were always on time and fully prepared. They kept me in the look at every step of the process. They have a system that texted me their arrival status so I knew when they would arrive. The install team was simply the best team I have ever worked with in my 67 years. They were efficient, fast, focused, skilled and very happy. They were singing while they worked and were nearly dancing on the rooftop. Just watching the teamwork was enjoyable, and even inspiring. The cleanup was also outstanding. They tarped the area to catch debris and ran magnets to pick up any stray screws. The job was literally perfect from start to finish. I'm a huge advocate of giving kudos where they are deserved but on the flip side, I cannot turn a blind eye when deceit and/or unfavorable actions may take advantage of other's lack of knowledge or awareness. I have recently heard a couple of stories from a few sources that confirmed my recent experience with this company that solidified my decision to seek out a second opinion. Without going into unnecessary detail and slandering this company, I'll just say simply, they will not be getting my business any more. Even if the things I have heard are not true or embellished...the response time, communication, and seeming lack of interoffice discrepancy I have experienced is enough a reason. EVERYONE is busy in the trade fields, I get that, but this goes beyond that fact. Again, no need for details. (I'll post an update about the other company I'm hiring once services have been rendered.)
