Didn't have a very good experience here from start to finish. Firstly, I got a gift voucher from buy-a-gift.com which stated I would only have to pay £25 deposit for our couple shoot, however when I phoned up Glow Studios they said its £25pp deposit. After reading my terms and conditions out to her she agreed to only take out one payment of £25 and assured me that it would just be £25 not £25pp. However, after the booking was made they had take £50 out of my account which I was very annoyed about as they did this without telling me! After phoning and questioning it they did not refund me the money they just said sorry and gave no explanations. Arriving at Glow Studios we were not offered free bubbly as they said, the make up artists and hair dressers were really good, friendly and gave us a good experience. However, when we had our photoshoot, the photographer said she hadn't done couples for a while and didn't really know what to do. It was fun and enjoyable but it coud have been better, the poses were repetitive and quite boring. We had a quick 5 minute viewing of all of our images, there were only about 10 we like out of the 53 so it was a bit disappointing, some pictures had flash covering our faces etc. The images were quite pricey too. After getting our free image we were reassured that the £50 deposit they took from us will be returned within 30. It has now been 5 and a half weeks and we are still waiting. I have contacted them by email three times and they have failed to reply. When we phoned up they said they would get back in contact withing 2 days, they failed to do so. When I phoned them again they said phone back on Monday as they were not available to talk, it was still two hours until closing time so this was disappointing. I am still waiting to hear from them and to get my deposit back. read more

I was overjoyed when my sister told me that she had booked us both in for a photo shoot with Glow Studio. I was so excited about doing this because it was something that I wanted to do for such a long time, so the next thing I know is that I am booking a half day holiday for my makeover experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was people sitting around on the sofa's, sipping champagne. We were immediately asked what we'd like to drink and we're shown to a sofa to relax on along came our drinks, we were given a clipboard with a small questionnaire on it. So we sat and had our drinks and filled this out. There was nothing too hard to answer it was just about the sort of look you wanted and things that you didn't want. Once that was done we had our hair styled, both of us got our hair done just the way we like it and we were both really enjoying the atmosphere of being in such a great place having such a great experience, my hair was just perfect and I felt as happy as larry. Once our hair was done we moved onto makeup, the makeup ladies were awesome and really chatty and told us all about great techniques to use and we both looked really gorgeous. We were then shown out to the waiting room given another glass of champagne, and told our photographer would be with us shortly. After a couple of glasses of champagne it was time to step in front of the camera, we were both so excited. We both got a big giggly to start off with but we soon settled down and really enjoyed having our pictures taken. We had taken along three different outfits to wear and we got to have our pictures taken in all of them. The pictures came back great, the prices were very fair. Overall we had such a great day we were both over the moon with the whole experience of the day is great. read more

I was a bit nervous about going to Glow Studios because I have suffered from severe acne all of my life and hate having my picture taken and when I do have it taken it has to go through about five hours photoshop before I am even happy to put it on my Facebook. I was given a voucher from my friend for my birthday via one of the daily deals websites and it included a makeup lesson so I thought why not? I got there feeling very self-conscious and very unsure of myself. I told the consultant exactly how I felt and she was great about it. She told me that they had lots of different tricks to make my condition look ok in the pictures and as well as that they do a service where they airbrush the shots. I had my hair done first and was very happy with that. My hair is long and in very good condition and I was very happy that they styled it nicely and did not cover it in product that can often make your hair look very dull. I was incredibly impressed with the makeup lady who started off by telling me how to look after my skin in a way that would help my condition and she recommended some great products to me that have really helped a lot so that has given me even more confidence in the company since I left. She did such a great job of my makeup and the consultant was right, the shots hardly showed any of my spots up. I learned such a lot about using makeup to disguise my spots, there was one shot that was really great but the light did show up my skin so I had that one touched up but the rest were fine and that shows how talented both the makeup artists and the photographer were. The shots are not cheap at Glow Studios but if you are like me and all you have ever wanted is to look good in pictures then this is well worth the money. read more

My friend and I visited the Birmingham studio on Feb 3rd and were greeted my friendly staff. The make-up girls were very chatty and I'd taken a picture of a certain look I'd seen in a magazine for them to create for a few modelling shots. Halfway through my makeup I wasn't convinced I was going to look anything like the girl in the picture and was almost in tears however the make-up girl assured me not to worry and if I wasn't happy she would redo my entire hair and make-up so I relaxed. I have to say she did an amazing job and I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror. The photographer was really nice and made me feel at ease and showed me exactly how to pose and gave me some great tips on how to relax and pose (I've forgotten your name but wanted to say thank you for your help and advice as it has helped). The pictures were really amazing and if I could afford to I would have brought the entire disk but as I'm a student I purchased a couple of prints and the same images on CD which they did at a reasonable price. The good thing about this studio is they printed our photos and burnt our disk after our shoot on the day so no having to wait for them in the post so I was pleasantly surprised. We were given gift certificates to visit Glow Studios after having a bad experience at a different studio by the gift company we had originally purchased a makeover from. I finally went to the Birmingham studio with my friend yesterday and we had an amazing time. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel so welcome. The make up artists transformed my look, i did not have many ideas but they told me what they thought would suit me and i was so thrilled, if only i could style it the same!! The photo shoot was enjoyable, i was put at ease quickly and at the end i did actually feel like a star and my friend had a similar experience. I had four different outfits including underwear which I was more comfortable with than I thought lol. After the shoot we viewed our images. The lady showing us the images was very good and she showed us different options to buy the pictures and we selected a cd package we could afford and despite wanting to buy more I did not feel under pressure to do so. We both love our pictures as do our friends and family. I would certainly recommend these guys to anyone wanting a real girly day out and wanting a real me day. read more

Glow Studios are so cool. I have been there twice now as my mate went before and she was too scared to go on her own so she took me with her. Unfortunately they very politely informed us that you cannot have spectators for the experience but somebody had cancelled that day so they let me join my mate on the photo shoot and it was amazing!! I immediately knew it was something that I wanted to do and I soon got into the swing of things posing like a natural poser lol. I only took a my free image on the day as I hadn't planned to be having a shoot let alone be buying images. Then, for my birthday I asked everybody to give me money so I could get some shots when I went to the studio and everybody did so I booked my makeover and had the most amazing time. I was not a bit nervous because I knew exactly how it was going to go from my previous experience so I had already met the staff. I had a lovely time and I loved what they did with my hair and my makeup and the photos were totally incredible. I am so glad that I chose to go at a time when I could buy more than the one free print as I am so proud of my lovely pictures. read more

Me and my mum had a fantastic day at Glow, many thanks to all the girls for making it so special. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and looked after which was especially brilliant as mum has been having a hard time recently. The receptionist welcomed us and could not get us enough drinks and after explaining the day we went through to make up. My make up was amazing and i did not know i could look so good, mums was stunning and took ten years off her. We went to have our pictures taken and had a mixture of individual shots and some together. When it came to viewing it was amazing to see the special effects that had been done on us both and it was quite emotional seeing mum looking so good. They have different packages available while they are not cheap i would say that they are worth it as they are a memory for us of an truly great day. AVOID! Ten weeks on and still no photos. I have paid over £150 for the photo shoot and photos and they have not arrived. When you eventually get through on the phone you are fobbed off. It's impossible to talk to anyone who can help. Emailed are not answered. It takes 30 seconds to print a photo, why won't they send them!! On the day, the staff were friendly but the experience was amateurish. The photographer was very average. He did not give any advice on where to stand, positions or expressions, which you would expect from a professional. Whilst I appreciate that photography makeup is heavy, when I asked for a natural look, I resembled a drag queen in heavy eyeliner and neon blue eyeshadow. I only bought a couple of photos as most came out dreadful. Just avoid this at all costs it's an amateur set up and a SCAM. I will be reporting to trading standards and the BBCs rogue traders and I would advise others in the same situation to do the same. read more

Had a discount voucher deal for £5 each, we had MAC makeup, hair and 1 hour photo session. we never really waited around, makeup/hair was done really well and we were spoken to and asked what we didn;t want and if there was a look we wanted to achieve. we arrived at 12:10 and was finished by 3pm. makeup was really good and so was hair. The photographer gave excellent direction so there was no need to worry about the style of pose you were going to do. we have a free print which we could either upgrade to disc using the £25 deposit we paid or wait 6-8 weeks for it to be printed, we felt there was no hard sell and although yes a bit pricey they did us a deal and we had 14 photos for £125 so total cost of the day £135 for two people. we arrived at 12:10 and was finished by 3pm. really good girly afternoon out, we kept on our make up and left our hair in style and stayed out for the evening in Birmingham. read more

I had a hard time finding fault with my makeover. I was put onto the company by a friend at work. She has used them in the past. I found the website and very much liked what I saw. The booking process is very easy. You pay for a voucher and then call for an appointment. The lady on the customer service desk was friendly and well informed. I was delighted with both the hair and makeup. I am very particular with my hair so that for me was a huge high point. The makeup was bit on the heavy side but looked spectacular in the pictures. The photoshoot was fun while at the same time being very comfortable. The viewing session was rather intense as I found the pictures quite hard to choose from. The prints took four weeks to arrive and came in perfect condition. This is one of the few experiences I have had that totally satisfied all of my requirements. read more

Read a few reviews on here and after visiting the studio in December I wanted to write a review as our images arrived today. We had a pleasant day at Glow Studio and were treated very well. Makeup was very good and the girls did a fab job even though were were quite particular. The photographer was lovely and made us feel at ease. The prices were not too bad at all especially compared to other studios and were were given a half price voucher by the studio to use which made our prints very affordable. Our prints arrived today and we absolutely love them. From booking to the end result it has been effortless. Please do childrens' photoshoots and we'll be back for more! Stacey & Karen x read more

Absolutely rubbish company! My photo shoot was brilliant and I really enjoyed the day.. but we paid over £400 for photos and still have not received anything. Tried to contact the company, which has proven to be a complete waist of time! I loved my fashion makeover. I caught it at a time they were doing a double your money deal that basically means what ever amount you deposit before you go to buy the pictures with they match if you put down two hundred pounds you get to spend four hundred. The pictures are not cheap, although they are inline with what other places are charging, so it is well worth making sure you have put the money down in the first place. The studio is great, the makeover was wonderful and I learnt heaps about makeup application. The photo session was awesome and the picture came out great. Ten out of ten from me on this one! I went to glow studio with my wife for valentines day. We were impressed from the start of the day, when we were met by the friendly staff, who gave us a free glass of bucks fizz to relax; throughout the time we were at the studios, from the make up session (which my wife loved!) through to the photo shoot, we had a lot of fun with the staff; everyone was very professional and really wanted to ensure that our own ideas were incorporated into the pictures; the result were fantastic, a set of photos that we can look back on, with great memories of a great day out i would thoroughly recommend glow studio to anyone who wants to be treated like celebs for the day! read more

two months later.still waiting for images do not use this company!! i went to this company for a make over photoshoot with a family member as they have been ill and may not be here this time next year, wanted an experience i could treasure. make up artist's were average, but did not cover up any blemishes, hair was just pathetic, photoshoot was good and camera man was excellent. two months later.still waiting for images. no one returns your emails or calls, that is if you get through to the number as it always goes to voicemail!! this place is a pure joke! do not waste your time or money they have no aftercare at all!!!!!!! total let down! read more

Do not use Glow Studios. I booked an experience for my sister and I in February and was told it was necessary to pay a 'refundable' £50 deposit. I was told the deposit would be received within one month of attending and four months on I have still not received it. When trying to contact Glow Studios they either ignored my emails or lied about putting the refund through. It has caused a great deal of stress and whilst the photoshoot itself was good, the make-up beforehand was not, the artist did not listen to what we asked to have done and I ended up looking like a drag queen. DO NOT GO THERE!! THEY TAKE HUNDREDS OF POUNDS FROM YOUR CARD WITHOUT CONSENT. They refuse to answer any email/calls/letters. Head Office & Studio diverts calls up and down. Zar Ahmed apparently he is in charge of refunds but no payment or contact is made. They took my deposit and hundreds of pounds from my card. They refuse to return my money instead they offered me a CD with photos absolute rubbish! Have waited over half a year for my money AND photos, no luck. Will take legal actions and will bring them down! read more

i have had the same trouble as everyone else, day was rubbish, my daughter was supposed to enjoy it as part of her birthday present but received nothing it! im just concerned now as to why they wont give me my pics of my 11 year old daughter, have contacted trading standards and watchdog and also the police as they are witholding pictures of a child. i had no choice but to click a star but they dont get any the robbing ****** read more

I had my photo shoot at glow studios, I really didnt know what to expect as the last photo shoot that I had was quite some years ago, but the staff, photographer and the make up artist really made me comfortable and feel welcome! I walked out with a humongous smile on my face with all my 50 pictures on a dvd.. Highly reccommended and rest assured I will be visiting again REAL soon! :) read more
