I went here for a facial and I absolutely loved my experience here! You immediately feel like royalty at this spa. The spa itself is very luxurious and the people working there are friendly, professional and highly knowledgeable. I enjoyed every minute of my facial! First, they analysed my skin with some questions on my lifestyle and took an UV picture. Based on that, they recommended a chemical peel. There are exceptions to every rule. I know fellow Yelpers go on and on about the poor service or poor quality of food during these events, but there are always a few restaurants that break the rule. They are always on, so to speak. I wondered if the same rule applied to Beautylicious. It's almost over (November 6) but it took me a while to do a little research before I booked something. I finally settled on Glow's $50 offering - Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion. It's regularly $130. I know, I can hear all the money I saved. Overall, I was impressed with Glow. They just (literally) moved locations and their new space is wonderfully decorated; a nice balance of earthy, neutral tones and flashy accents. The receptionist was hands-down one of the best I've encountered in the service industry. She was happy, but not annoying; knowledgeable, but not overcompensating; friendly, but not fake. That's a lot to be and not be in one woman. I think a lot of people could learn something from her about customer service. My treatment lasted about 30 minutes and was great. Quality equipment and expert service, all in a clean and comfortable setting. The only sour spot was my esthetician. To be clear, she was great. She's obviously experienced and knows what she's doing. But alas, she was a pusher. A subtle pusher, but one nonetheless. She not only pushed product, but she pushed additional services, and in my opinion without enough tact. I don't fault her, but things could have turned out differently. I was right on the edge of deciding to book another appointment because in my head, I was thinking, this microderm costs the same as Pure + Simple so I could mix it up. But her matter-of-fact manner pushed me to say, Glow you're A-OK, but okay doesn't keep me. Maybe it'll keep you? For $50, it's worth it to go. Microderm gives you a glow. One treatment doesn't do much, but it does something. read more

Not sure why Yelp filtered out my first comment but I am reviewing again cause of my last visit today. Went here for the 3rd treatment for laser hair removal at bikini line. I wasn't sure it was needed because with 2 treatments, most of the hair was gone. Gabriella insisted I continue with the 3rd and 4th treatment cause that's what recommended. I'm glad she did because I'm a big chicken with pain but it was not bad because there wasn't much root left. I have to say that this beats waxing hands down cause waxing always gave me a rash but I didn't have any side effects after this. Did the underarms today on impulse and it was a cakewalk compared to the bikini line. Had schlerotherapy here previously and one treatment did the trick. I think 3 are recommended but after one treatment I was satisfied with the results so did not go back for more - score! I wanted to write another review because I like that Gabriella suggested I space out the last visit for the bikini line to space out the treatment which shows me that she cares about the treatment having permanent results (and it's good for my budget :) read more

I have been seeing Dr. Diane Wong for over 4 years. Her staff had never been friendly. Today, I was 10 mins late for my appointment, the Doctor was still willing to see me. However, after the treatment, they told me I need to pay $100 more for being late. I was shocked, because it was never mentioned at any point and time that there is a charge for patients being late! I was told there is $50 charge if I miss my appointment but no one had told me about $100 late fee in their policy! Is this even legal? Can they impose late fees without prior disclosure??? read more

The treatments are fine but they are often running late. Once I waited 20 minutes after my allotted start time and they told me to come 20 minutes early! I had a lot of time to memorize their waiting room slideshow. read more

Just wanted to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this experience was. From the first phone call to the excellent treatments to the way they treat each and every client is top notch. The first people you come in contact with at the desk are vital- they are the gateway to you getting appointments. Margarida who answered the phone was amazing- kind, patient and explained everything patiently and thoroughly. When you meet her in person she is so kind and sensitive and really goes out of her way to make you feel at home. You never feel like you are asking silly questions with her- she is able to answer calmly and patiently. Lorraine who did my facial was phenomenal- gentle, caring and very knowledgable about skin. I have extremely reactive sensitive skin and she cleansed and purified it without having one allergic reaction- which is very rare for me. She really knows skin and is so wonderful to deal with. Love her- All the staff are so caring and professional- Jana, Marguerite and Dr Wong are wonderfully receptive to questions about skin care, treatments, etc.They are there if you ever have questions or need follow up appointments - no problems. Got the laser hair remover (Alexandrite) in November for the beautylicious promo. Quite honestly, only made the trip here, because the receptionist was the first one to actually explain the technology they had. Downfall is however, the lack of professionality of the technician i was paired with. I don't have a name because she did NOT introduced herself. She was a black lady who came in and then asked as I was laying on the bed "are you mad?" I told her no. She didn't explain how the procedure would progress, I would have liked to know what to expect before she proceeded. When the procedure was too painful to bear at one point and i asked her to stop, she proceeded to say in a mockingly way, "Well, it's going to hurt." Her response was very dismissive. She also kept walking into my feet without apologizing which is unprofessional. Then I had to discredit what she said. When I asked her if she's gotten the procedure done, she said she did. I asked if it worked for her and she said it did. I asked her how many times did it take her. She replied, "Oh i only got it done once". Obviously, making her answers untrustworthy becauseresults won't show until after several treatments. For this incident, I would NOT go back because if they hired a technician like her to work there I rather take my money elsewhere with the proper service and professionalism. Other places I've called never disclosed their technology or wanted to explain. But because I got an explanation I decided to go here to try out for the first time. Went to Glow for a medical pedicure. There is only one chair for this treatment. It's a bench with thin cushioned padding with a foot rest that was too close and too high. My knees were up around my chin. It was so uncomfortable that I had a sore back when it was finally over. The person doing the pedicure talked non-stop through out the whole treatment and rushed me out at the end because she didn't want to miss her go train. I left the spa with cling wrap around my polished toes which still smudged because I was rushed out before they were dry. The overall experience was not relaxing and the actual pedicure well below average. Definitely not worth $60. read more

I found the "Glow spa", to be amazing. The beautiful sitting area and treatment rooms compliment a very skilled and friendly staff. I went to the recently opened location in Markham. I was a regular customer at Eforea, the spa that closed and Glow took over. I honestly miss Eforea. I had the dry pedicure st Glow. I really liked the cleanliness of the pedicure tools and the work station. However, my nails were not painted very well. They look like a DIY job that I could have done myself. Terrible and ineffective. Don't be fooled by the fancy, upscale and clean office and cheery front desk - it's ALL FOR SHOW. Had several laser treatments for spider veins AND schlerotherapy at this place (at PREMIUM PRICES - to help PAY for that fancy waiting room. no doubt...), AND NEITHER DID A DARN THING. Not ONLY did she and her "nurses"/technicians do a terrible/useless job, but she then had the gall to try and defend the unacceptable "work" and try and make me feel like I was hallucinating the COMPLETELY ineffective results on top of it! Beforehand, I had gone to a much more reasonably priced place that had KNOWLEDGEABLE nurses and doctors whose treatments were ACTUALLY EFFECTIVE, and I ran right back to them to successfully finish the work after these bad experiences with Dr. Wong. In my experience, it is clear this office is more interested in recommending ABSOLUTELY USELESS procedures to collect as much money as possible, as opposed to offering GOOD and EFFECTIVE procedures to their clients. Bottom line: If you enjoy throwing hard-earned money down the drain for NO reason and NO results at all, feel free to try out Dr. Wong and Glow Medi Spa. Otherwise, there are FAR better technicians out there at FAR better prices who deliver FAR better results. I would not recommend Dr. Wong or Glow Medi Spa to anyone. [ps. Had several IPL treatments to remove sun spots on my face and chest. Excellent results. In my younger years I would sunbathe without sunscreen which lead to dark sunspots over the years. The IPL treatments removed these. In particular, there was a large spot near my delicate eye area; Dr. Wong spent the time to work with the esthetician to find the right settings for the IPL to remove this spot safely. Great results, the spot is totally removed and has not returned. As advised, I now wear sunscreen daily. Definitely worth the cost and time to remove very visible spots that visually age you. I have had laser hair removal done to different areas of the body at different times in the last two years, with excellent and lasting results. The staff are professional but warm, which makes for a comfortable environment, and are mindful of the clients' needs during treatment as well. I like that the technology Glow uses is also updated to better meet the needs of the client.
