I've suffered from varying degrees of acne for over 10 years. Given that I'm far past my teenage years, it was clear (pun intended) that my skin wasn't going to magically improve overnight. Some of the things I have tried: Proactiv, Neutrogena, diet change, improved hygiene (frequent phone screen cleaning, headphones instead of hand-held calls, no touching face, etc.), plant-based skincare, less makeup, no makeup, spin brushes, exfoliating scrubs, face masks, even more expensive products like Drunk Elephant -- all to no avail. Therefore, I decided it was time to invest in my skin and see a professional. I've had two sessions done now -- the second done by Laura today. Laura did a really good job at the following things: busting some preconceived notions that I had about skincare (thanks to mass media); explaining the tools she was using and the methodology behind the procedures; being upfront about the treatments I needed and the time it would take to achieve what I want; clarifying the best ways for me to achieve what I want while also giving me the ability to choose what would work best for me, my lifestyle (and my budget); and being transparent about what would hurt (and checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok). While my skin has some steps to go, I can see a few improvements -- less scarring, smoother texture, less active acne, less blackheads, and even a reduction in oiliness. These are all things I have tried and failed to achieve in the last 10 years. It's a win in my book for this to occur from 2 sessions done a week apart. After having many facials over a long period of time with only temporary positive changes, I was pretty skeptical before deciding to make an appointment. However, I was also very desperate and after reading the yelp reviews and seeing the before and after photos I decided to give this place a chance. I just had my third appointment with Josephine, and so while I'm still in the very beginning stages of my treatments, I must say I do notice slight improvements. I know they will only get better over time. Patience is key, but the process is well worth it. Josephine really is so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If I could give 10 stars I really would! I recently visited Glow DermSolutions and had my first appointment with Laura. As soon as I arrived i was welcomed right away by her and was told to fill out a form for her to know a little bit more about my skin. We then went inside her beautiful office ( I really mean it, the inside of her clinic is absolutely stunning!) and we talked more about my skin. She genuinely wanted to know what i was most concerned about, what kind of results I wanted and also what I have previously tried in the past. She showed videos and pictures of before and after results and I was literally in shock to see the drastic results! We then proceeded to start the actual treatment, she was extremely kind always making sure I was comfortable and not in pain. The treatment itself is not painful, it does tingle a bit but everyones pain tolerance is different! Time flew by because Laura was legitimately interested in getting to know who I am and it made me so much more comfortable! Once the treatment was done, she took the time to re-explain things that she told me earlier to ensure I understood how the post treatment would work. I had booked my appt 2 months advance (that was the 1st available slot open when I first e-mailed to inquire an appt) 2 month wait. Btw, if you try calling you only get an automatic voice message saying email is the best to schedule an appt. Finally I was really excited and looking forward to my appt since it was around the corner, and for absolutely no reason, Dr Laura cancelled my appt the night before at 11:45 pm, when earlier that afternoon (around 530 pm) she emailed me to confirm my appointment and I had asked if she had anything available at an earlier time but if not I'll still keep my appt time and confirmed. She replied no and accepted my confirmation. So to receive an email saying your appt was cancelled and with no follow up re rescheduling or sending an apology was not cool and horrible service. I replied to her cancellation email asking if i can get rescheduled and hope everything is ok (being understanding that last minute things can happen,) but never heard back, days later still no email or call back. Horrible service and treatment. Even if you have a 5 star rating doesn't give any shop owner or person to treat anyone like that. read more

I've dealt with acne from the age of 18-28 years old.. my breakouts have not been so bad this last year but the acne left some pretty deep scars on my face. I have been suffering from acne issue since i was in the middle school, i have tried lots of acne treatments, but only this one REALLY works on me. I already amazed the difference right after i did my first treatment. After couple more treatments, i can certainly tell my skin looks brighter and smoother, then my break out comes less and slower. I came to Laura after finding her on Yelp. I wanted to take a more holistic approach to treating the recent break outs, but especially scarring, I had been experiencing lately. Needless to say, the process is tedious and long, but definitely worth it! Laura knows what she is doing and was able to stop my active break outs within two-three weeks. Soon after I then saw fading of scars. My scarring isn't quite healed yet, but rarely do I ever break out now thanks to her facials and products. This is making it easier for the scarring to clear up. Mostly, I am impressed with the texture of my skin. I was fortunate enough to have the Level 1 done with Laura, and oh man was it an experience. I loved how she showed me the effects of every single step of the treatment. She showed value in each step, which is different from other places I've been to. Two days post treatment and my skin is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Acne was never really my problem, but I did have some dullness, hyper pigmentation, and dry skin buildup that I wanted to fix. I have struggled with acne since 5th grade. From elementary school to post-college, I always had breakouts from hormonal acne and stress. Throughout the past years, I had tried to rely on medications from my personal physician to anti-acne chemical products in Target or Sephora to extractions to organic anti-acne products.
