Well, it was a good thing we did, since we didn't get to go back for afternoon tea... Just as the name suggests, it is located right by the canal. It was very picturesque, peaceful and relaxing. They also have seating upstairs, and had histories on the canal, with photos posted all around the wall. Their cakes looked amazing, but I decided not to order any dessert on this day. Yes I know, a big mistake! Our friend ordered Heavenly Hot Chocolate, and it looked so pretty! We went with Teashop House Blend Tea, and Earl Grey. The young boy who brought the teas (I hear this is a family-run business) was trying to very careful not to mix them up. But the funny thing was, he totally mixed the tea up! LOL. We didn't realize until half way through... I thought the House Blend tea tasted so much like Earl Grey. For lunch, we had Ham, Cheese & Chutney Sandwich and Eggs Benedict. They were both tasty, nice portion, and filling. Our friend went with something healthier, and ordered one of their vegan sandwiches. It is nice to have that option if you want or need vegan dish. We had a nice quick lunch here. It was adorable and cozy. The food was good, not amazing, but good. I think the sweets might be better than the actual food...I will never know, unless I go back! Lesson learned: don't never expect your plan to go just the way you planned them...and have your dessert first!

It was busy, so you could tell that it is a popular spot. It is set on the river that runs through the village so you can enjoy your breakfast while the water slowly flows by you. This area and the cafe are beautiful. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Even though they were very busy, they showed no signs of being annoyed or overwhelmed. They seemed genuinely happy you were there and eager to make sure you were happy with your stay. We ordered the sausage rolls and a Cornish pastry and they were very good. I'm sure there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the place, but you would not go wrong stoping by here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

I selected the Small Farmhouse breakfast which consisted of sausage, bacon, egg, hash brown, mushrooms, baked beans and a slice of toast with butter and jam. My husband selected the Farmhouse breakfast which had the same ingredients but twice as much. Of special note are the sausages which were very meaty and that the breakfast was cooked to perfection with none of the grease that can often be present. They also serve a full range of hot drinks so I was able to select a decaf latte. The menu includes some sandwich-type options and there were a few scones etc. for those who don't have our appetites. Service was fast for us. We arrived soon after they opened so only about 4 tables were already filled, so I cannot speak to service speed when they are busy, but they looked to have plenty of staff on duty. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Served with a choice of either fries or chunky wedges (think roast potato wedges and you'll get the idea). The cafe makes its own hot sauces and strawberry jams, all of which you should try if you get a chance as they're all scrumptious. You can even buy jars of the sauces to take home. Service is warm & friendly and you're made to feel incredibly welcome the second you walk in the door to the moment you leave. It doubles up as a meeting place for the local OAP's though, so don't be surprised to find your route through the aisles blocked with people catching up on their gossip. They have a fishmonger and deli counter - just like old times!! they also have a hot food counter and sell all manner of freshly made sausage rolls, pasties and pies, as well as roast chickens. Their instore bakery is pretty good too - always fresh bread and cookies on offer. The staff can sometimes be a bit abrupt, but others are really lovely, and very helpful. You rarely have to queue for a long time - if it's busy, almost all of the checkouts will be open. They also have a cafe (although I've never used it) and you can also buy your lottery here. Huge car park, which also serves the other shops in the park and the doctors surgery! Don't forget to take a pound for the trolley though!!

If you're a spotter this is a great place to dine as it is located just off the main runway undershoot and you get a good view of quite a large part of the Apron as well. The service was good although it does get very busy at lunchtime and on some days we had to queue for quite a while before being served. Food was excellent, and not bad value for money. If you like goat's cheese, you'll love the goat's cheese panini with honey and chilli - very yum. Only complaint was that they were charging branded prices for non-branded goods. If you order a Coke, you get some sort of generic Rola-Cola instead, and the J2O is actually something called 'H' in an almost identical bottle. But that's a minor complaint, and you can't blame them for trying to keep costs down. A nice trip out for lunch, a good place to take granny or the kids (highchairs available, and plenty of space for them too). Signs saying wifi available although I didn't try it out.
