And I wasn't disappointed. The market is exactly what you would want a medium to large sized market to be. Offering a huge range of locally sourced goods sold to you by the actual producers of the items, you can get most things you would need to stock up the fridge, freezer and cupboards (with a good amount of locally made crafty things too). It's in a pretty setting and has a lovely community feel to it. We managed to find parking in the small shopping area just up from St Mary's Row at around 9:15am, but parking could be a bit of a nightmare if you were getting here later. The square area offered braces of pheasants for £6, cheese, wine, condiments and artisan food products and the High Street area (which we hadn't realised was there until we were leaving - D'oh) offers more of a crafty element. We had a nice little poke around the stalls and chatted to many of the business owners about their products and they were more than happy to talk to us and advise where the items are made and the ingrediants that go into them. We got some lovely locally made fizzy red wine (Did you know there are vineyards in the Midlands?) for £10 a bottle, some hot sauce from Pip's and was very tempted by cakes and unusual scotch eggs... We are definitely planning to go back. If you haven't been, you must go. Get there early if you're planning to drive but the buses down to Moseley drop you off right in the thick of the action, do that might be the best idea.

I've been attending the market for over three years now, and I rarely miss a month. The stalls always draw me back when I'm needing a healthy variation to my diet, and the price range is perfect value for money. Specifically regarding the Beans & Leaves stall, which sells a wide range of both coffee beans and loose teas. Most of these infusions rarely reach the £4 mark for 100g, which results in more than enough tea for two for several months! The tea stall holder himself is a bubbly yam yam who'll immediately strike up a conversation. It's just a shame that his stall is on the windiest part of Moseley, meaning that a lot of his tea ends up at the other side of the market! But of course, on first visit, you'll want to sample everything. Whether this be jam, ostrich burgers, bakery, alcohol or cheese (in fact, I highly recommend the Warwickshire Truckle), there's literally something for everyone. I've also tried a range of unlikely produces which sometimes appear at the market, such as a piece of fruit called a quince, and a green tea cake, both equally as delicious as the other. As a worthy winner of "best farmers market in the UK 2012", Moseley Farmers Market is a treasury to Birmingham and brings a tasteful locality to the streets of Moseley.

Bryngwenyn Farm is just as steeps writes and in a beautiful spot, I would definitely recommend its' location for a peaceful getaway with its' holiday cottages and b and b with the great advantage of the fabulous mainly organic farmshop with wonderful proper organic and freerange eggs(delicious for breakfast today). As well as doing a good shop there, we bought the aforementioned sausages, pork etc some wonderful organic vegetables, we had delicious home made cake and tea so definitely a step up from the usual supermarket venture.

Bryngwenyn Farm is many things in one. The part we go for is the Farm Shop. We were pointed here by…read moreout neighbours and decided to visit one Sunday afternoon. It is a bit off the beaten track so we had never seen it before, but we were pleasantly surprised. The shop itself is tiny, but still seems to hold plenty of goodies. There is a freezer full of meat (including the best sausages we have ever tasted), a fridge packed with cheese, yoghurt, milk and more, another freezer with bread, icecream and frozen fruits, a fruit and vegetable section and then shelves full of everything you can think of. They even stock Ecover products so if you are looking to avoid the supermarket, this is the place to go. Their home-milled flour is well worth a try and makes delicious bread. The shop is also a cafe and is laid out with a few tables. If you are looking for something different, they sell Alpaca wool gloves and hats! The rest of the farm includes holiday cottages and animals to see as well as the flour mill. I am tempted to sign up for one of the bread making courses. It is in an idyllic spot too with gorgeous views and a posse of sheep to greet you as you make your way down the track!

In the middle there is also a selection of chocolates to die for along with a mini bakery with freshly made Welsh cakes and bread. With all the produce being locally sourced, you know what you're getting. But bearing this in mind, the prices aren't cheap. There's also a cafe, icecream parlour, wine shop and bee centre located right outside so everyone should be able to find something to suit their taste.

We were served at checkout by a really miserable guy who despite the fact that we both had our COVID-19 masks on and were demonstrably polite got no response at all to a request for a bag or box to tote our £45 odd worth of goodies ( yes we live local and know asking for a bag would cost us 10p). He eventually relented and got us a box from behind the counter. I know it difficult to see a smile with a mask on, but a bit of pleasantry would make all the difference.

The one thing you have to try is the ostrich burger with cheese and onion - yummy!!! This is sold on the stall which is situated right outside the centre by the entrance. The stall also sells fresh ostrich burgers+frozen to put in your freezer, ostrich eggs, dusters, meat, sausages. Indoor stalls include a great mushroom bonanza (loads of different mushroom on sale), breads, cakes, meat, sausages, a variety of vegetables, honeys, wax products, leather products such as belts, purses , chocolates, soaps Outside there is normally a van that sells a variety of fish, pancake stall - yummy pancakes freshly made in front of you, bird tables, plants, meat As you can see - there is a variety of products on sale - plenty to choose from. Great atmosphere and even better location - Bakewell is a beautiful and busy place with loads to offer.

All of the stalls are from the local area, and the people are all so friendly and happy to chat. The goods may be more expensive than you could get in a supermarket, but you know that you are helping the local economy and for the quality it is well worth the extra few pennies you will spend. I do recommend that you get there quite early in the day though, as otherwise you may find that many of the stalls have sold the majority of their products.

Apley Farm Shop opened its doors to the public on Thursday 31st March 2011 and features, as well as…read morethe farm shop itself, a café and a kids' playbarn. We decided to visit today to check out all three. We had been fortunate enough to be invited to a special pre-opening event at the playbarn a couple of weeks earlier, so we already had an idea what kind of thing to expect. We were not disappointed! As farm shops go, Apley raises the bar and sets a new standard. Housed in beautifully converted original farm buildings it's airy, spacious and very well laid out. I was responsible for trying to keep a sixteen month old in check, so wasn't able to take a close look at much of the produce on sale, but it's generally what you would expect from a high class delicatessen/farm shop, including some more unusual fare, like venison chorizo. Produce is generally locally sourced, including beef and game directly from Apley estate itself. I don't do cafés, as I much prefer pubs, but this café is going to be an exception to that rule. Simple offerings, such as sandwiches, quiches, ploughmans' and so on, but the quality is exceptional. There's a kids' section on the menu, which steers clear of the deep fried stodge you find in far too many places. As you would expect, there's a tempting array of cakes and other sweet treats that all looked good. There's a range of red and white wines as well as the usual teas, coffees and some very nice soft drinks. I would like to see bottled ales available and noticed that they sell a range of local ones from Hobsons and Woods in the shop. A bottle of Town Crier would have slipped down nicely today. The playbarn is currently the final piece in the jigsaw, although I believe that they plan to open a business centre here too. My wife is the expert on playbarns, having been to most of the local ones, but I gather this one is a little different to the rest. Kids' birthday parties are confined to separate, private rooms, which I think is a great idea. The seating area is therefore made up of comfy leather sofas with coffee tables and café style chairs and tables, all for grown ups, with complimentary newspapers and magazines provided. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soft drinks, ice cream and cakes are sold from the counter. Oh yes, the play section itself... well I enjoyed it, so it must be good! I'm pleased to see there's no ball pit, as I think these are just germ magnets. In summary, I hope nobody reads this review as we would like to keep the place a secret, thank you very much!

Part of the whole Pugh's garden village complex so there's somewhere to park and other shops to visit whilst you are there.

My husband and I love this shop! I just never know where to start, everything is so good…read more.. especially the pies! We have to travel a bit to get there but it's always worth it. Staff very helpful too. Some things a bit pricey, but you can't have everything. Well worth a visit.
