Maybe even one of those spiked Mohawks, like in Gremlins. Wouldn't that be something? Gremlins, at the HAIR BAR. These wonderful people can do it all. They are very skilled and know precisely how to keep the in-shop vibe going so you're not nodding off in the middle of a blow-out. Even the fantastic 1987 hit film Gremlins couldn't do that. Most of all, the HAIR BAR is affordable. Clean, yes. Cool vibe all around, yes. But the prices are fair for far better than industry standard work. Like I said, it's awesome. Even with the occasional gremlin. I tell you what though, those hairdressers don't let a few imaginary, mischievous green creatures call the shots. No sirreeeee bob. They're in full control whether you want a flowbee, frosted tips, a 1991 Roseanne Barr mullet or the full on Sinead. These wonderful ladies have got it on LOCK. This is my second time being here, it's been about 3 years or so since my first experience. I showed up a few minutes late, and they were very understanding since it would be a little while since my stylist was with another customer. I waited about 30-40 minutes, and usually I would get impatient. BUT- I was talked to throughout, I got constant updates, my boyfriend & I were offered coffee and water and I almost fell asleep in the massage chair. I felt like a celebrity honestly so waiting wasn't an issue. The customer service was outstanding. Now onto the hair part, I do wish it wasn't so busy when I came in because I was put into the corner as my stylist did the foiling. I wish she would have communicated with me a little more, but she was very sweet regardless. I loved the outcome of my hair, it's a very light blonde just like I asked for! I was overcharged for a service I didn't get, at the time I thought maybe it cost more and it was a misunderstanding. Before I could even think about it more and give them a call, they gave me a call about it. I think that was awesome and honest. This place has a teeny tiny amount of issues to work on but nonetheless I really do recommend this place to anyone and everyone, it's truly a treasure in St. Marys.

Thus I ended up with the recommendation to try out Shear Innovations. This is a nice little place right of of 235 by gate 2 of the PAX River Navy base. My stylist was a nice, friendly woman with quite a few years of experience cutting hair. She listened to what I wanted and then proceeded to wash, cut and style my hair. On top of all that the price was pretty good too. All in all a good first experience here and I'm sure I'll be back.

I had the worst leg wax experience there. It happened about 2 years ago, but never got around to…read morewriting this. To start, the woman who did my wax had no idea what she was doing. She didn't have the wax the right temperature and every time she would try to rip it, it would pull at my hair, but wouldn't rip it out, I don't think it was hot enough. She struggled with this for a while, but finally it kind of started to work. About an hour into the wax, and she wasn't even close to done, nobody's fault but her own. She had to cancel a hair appointment to finish my wax. I felt bad, but again, wasn't my fault. This wasn't my first time getting waxed, so I let my hair grow to the perfect length before booking the appointment, before my cruise. Anyways, we finish up around 2 excruciating hours later. When I get up to wipe my legs down to get the excess wax off (something she didn't do), I noticed there was still quite a bit of hair left. At this point, I was just ready to get out of there. I figured I'd go home and use my at-home wax kit to clean up the rest. Obviously this is upsetting because I was paying a lot of money to just have to go home and do more of it myself. The part that really upset me, is when I went to check out, they charged me AN EXTRA $50 because the appointment went over the 1 hour expected time. So here I was, having to pay $150 for legs that still had hair on them. I paid it, but called later to complain. The receptionist told me she'd have her manager reach out, she never did. I went on my cruise and it kind of slipped my mind, until just now when I came across this salon on here. DO NOT GET WAXED HERE, THEY ARE SCAMMERS. An absolutely terrible environment. I'm attaching pictures with the date as proof. I should have pushed to get my money back. I honestly still deserve it. How can anybody look at my legs and charge $150???

Went in for a semi transformation, my hair was down to my mid back, and I wanted it cut to my…read moreshoulders. I went in and Stephanie was the hairstylist that took me back. Stephanie seemed nice. but she didn't talk very much. I asked my hair to be cut to my shoulders, have some long layers and a side bang. It started off okay with the cut, but it was weird to be me when she didn't part my hair to cut the bangs. She started grabbing hair from the front and was cutting away. I think she might have been caught up listening to the other stylist and her client talking that she just went around my head and was cutting layers without paying attention. I decided to save money and just got a shampoo and cut done, so I didn't have my hair blow dried. The next day I was styling my hair, and I was horrified to find my layers were choppy and you could see the harsh lines on each layer. I called the salon and they asked me to come in, which I did, and I had Amber who was trying to fix the choppy cut, but Amber was not very nice and welcoming and she seemed to be in a hurry to get my hair fixed and on to the next client. Worst experience I have had in a long time going to Hair Cuttery.
