I've been going to this doctor as a patient in recovery for years. This place if you're going to go…read morefor buprenorphine treatment or any other addiction treatment, i highly recommend you seek out another doctor. This place only accepts Cash and the price keeps going up.($300 first visit, then return weekly paying $140 for 3 weeks then it turns into $140 every month. So for new patients your first month cost you $720. If you have insurance find a doctor that takes it. These cash doctors are only after one thing and it's your money. They don't care about you, your sobriety, or your recovery. It operates similar to the pill mills where you walk in and get a prescription, 10 minutes later you walk out with a prescription and $140 spent. I recognize some people prefer that, but i do not. For a place with psychiatry in their name they offer none of those services in my case, in fact you barely speak to anyone about your addiction, progress, relapses, problems, or recovery. Your rushed through the process with the feeling of no actual physical or mental treatment given other then a prescription. If you relapse and are truthful about it, you are punished and can return as long as you pay the first months outrageous price all over again, whether you are already prescribed the meds and have been on them it does not matter everyone pays the max the first month. They have no concept of addiction nor do they care, you can tell the experience they have is through a book and second hand and it shows when you engage in conversation. Addiction is not easy, and no one gets it right the first time, or in my case several tries. They have no sympathy or empathy for you, your life, or the things your going through personally. All they care about is taking your money from you and pushing you out the door with your prescription. If your expecting this place as a means to ensure your sobriety DON'T. There is no support given, nor are they interested. I've done everything by the book and it got me nowhere but the realization this place is simply for profit and NOT for addicts in recovery as they do not care about any of your personal life. Only the money you pay. (*** Also it states this..... "Dr. Standefer also works with a Recovery Technician who assists in individualizing your recovery approach. He collaborates closely with your therapist or counselor, or helps you find these resources."****) this is laughable as there is no "Recovery Approach" no technicians even work there, only someone who takes your money and gives you drug test. There is absolutely 0 collaboration with anyone or any outside facilities unless its mandatory. They also have NO resources, or help you achieve any resources. This place is a complete falsehood with the worst care ive ever seen for addicts in recovery. Maybe some patients don't need extracurricular treatment, but a majority do and this is not the place to get it. It became very apparent what this place was about when your constantly being bugged and reminded to bring "CASH IN HAND ONLY" This place was the absolute worst clinical help/treatment experience i've ever experienced in my 13 years being an addict.
