I did an exchange with Globex 2000 and they gave me a post dated cheque, dated for the next day. I asked multiple persons on the phone and at the branch if it is safe to deposit the cheque the same day, I heard the exact same answer multiple times: "You can deposit the cheque today and the fund will be available in your account the next day". Trusting them, as I thought it was their everyday business, I deposited the cheque the same day with mobile app. and then checking my account I saw it was rejected because of being "post-dated". I called them, someone answered, he didn't accept that I was misled, didn't even apologize and was talking unacceptably rude and nonprofessional. The teller decided my signature (signed on a piece of paper) did not match my driver's license (never in question). Also suggested my bank card may be fraudulent and he had to follow protocol and protect his business. He subsequently refused me service. I went to Globex because i was told they gave a better rate, however they made a big mistake and they inverted the two currencies (CAD and SGD) i wanted, which based on what i would receive, made no sense as CAD was worth more than SGD but they told me I was wrong. On the website the same mistake happens. I assumed at first i was mistaken but i did go to the bank to exchange just to see if i was actually that bad at math. Based on the amount of SGD the bank would give me for my CAD, it confirmed i was right! It's probably just a system/computer mistake and by no means the employee's fault but i thought it was still interesting that a place like Globex would make such a big mistake to invert currencies I still gave it 3 stars cuz i know they give very good rates in general so i would still go back next time. Howerver i would definitely calculate beforehand to make sure they don't make such a mistake again... I have been using Globex for many years and have been very satisfied until recently. I have converted a large amount of Norwegian Kroner for our trip to Norway. We discovered an old out of circulation 500 Kroner bill which nobody would cash in Norway. Upon our return I went to Globex and they denied issuing it, but they took the bill and said they will try to exchange it. I have called several times and went by their office many times when I was in the area. I was told "George" was handling it. George can never be reached and he never replied to the messages that were left for him. Eight months have now passed. My mistake was not getting a receipt for the bill.....lesson learned.
