This meant a demo of wood, demo of tile, new carpentry, new tile, reinstall of a fixture, additional pipe, and new baseboards. We decided (without any pressure for add-ons) to extend the work to the whole bathroom floor instead of just the localized area. So our results feel like not just a repair, but a remodel. Things that stood out: Communication - We felt the main point of contact, Anthony, was clear and helpful through the whole process. This is true of every crew member we interactacted with as well. Questions were answered patiently, things were explained clearly, we new what to expect next, there were no overpromises. Everyone that came into our home was respectful. Our input was sought at appropriate times, and we were shown progress consistently. Execution - Everyone seemed competent and capable of the tasks at hand. The results look good, feel good, and inspire confidence. If there was a mess made, it was promptly cleaned up. If there was a concern, it was handled appropriately. Initially I was a little skeptical of the proposed timeline but after seeing the work in action it made sense and was accurate. I would advise any others to just be ready to communicate a little, and inspect the results at each stage, since there might be use of different crews for one stage or another. They worked with me well when I had to find a company to install the quart countertop I wanted. All in all I had a good experience with this company. Their price was reasonable, and Brian worked with me on completing the job. I hadn't done a job like this since I had the entire house rehabbed, so a lot had changed in the construction world since 20 years ago. As for Mike himself, he's detail-oriented and hungry to grow his business based on actually being good and delivering a good product. A great bonus for me was Mike's usage of modern web-based project tracking and collaboration tools; he always had all the answers and there was never a miscommunication. My wife and I had a non-trivial renovation planned: removing a wall, relocating the entire kitchen, staircase carpentry replacement, hardwood floor refinish on the first floor, and replacing carpet with hardwood on the second floor. Almost everybody you talk to has some kind of contractor horror story that ends in a protracted lawsuit or the contractor skipping town with the down payment, or worse! My research led me to Ambrose Builders, and I'm glad it did; the process couldn't have gone smoother for such a large and varied project. Special shout-outs to the general carpenter (also named Mike) for doing tons of big projects plus all the little finishes that really tie everything together, and to the flooring guys, they went ham and finished their part in less than 2 weeks. It turned out the repair hadn't actually solved the problem, and the leak had returned. We reached out again, and they came out to inspect and said they'd return to fix it, but never showed up. My husband and I called multiple times and left voicemails. They eventually answered and again promised to come out -- and again, no one showed. After that, they stopped responding entirely. This all happened while a major storm was bearing down on our area, so we were left scrambling to deal with an active leak with no help from the company that was supposed to fix it. I don't know what's going on internally with them, but basic communication would have gone a long way. I WOULD NOT recommend them and won't be using them again.

Kevin and Hill's roofing are the best you can get. They came out and not only examined the roof from the outside but when into the attic as well to see if any plywood was rotten and so forth. Kevin returned with a detailed quote didn't pressure us in any way. One of the many deciding factor was the crew. They use the same crew all the time, no sub-contractors. Now that meant we had to wait an extra couple of weeks but we didn't mind. Another key point is that they stand behind their work and craftsmanship. About a month after the job we found a squirrel in our attic. We were naturally upset. But when I called Hills roofing about it. They came out and acknowledged it was their fault and they would take care of it and pay for any additional expenses to fix the problem. Their prices are fair and they quality and attention to detail is above the rest. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone.
