The biggest caution of this company, they do not build to code. I had them install a vinyl fence about 4 or 5 years ago, and upon repairing it due to damage from Irma I found they did not set the post as per code. I have so far had to dig up 11 posts, with 6 more to go. In all that is about ¾ of the posts originally installed. Besides a few broken posts, most of the damage I had was the fence posts pulled out of the soil and pushed over due to the lack of a solid footing. On the posts I have repaired so far, the concrete only went down at most 10 inches below grade. While this is making the repair easier, the need for repair would not have occurred if it was built to code standards. Code states the post needs to be 24 inches below grade, surrounded by 4 inches of concrete around the entire post, including below it. That is a minimum of 28 inches of concrete below grade. This is something anyone can look up.
It is a great way to scam the client, you use less cement which keeps your materials cost down and increase profits. When it is inspected by code it would be near impossible for them to tell how deep the concrete goes. And the fence holds up well enough in most situations that no one will notice until a hurricane comes through.
There is another review saying they are under new ownership, which may be true, but they are still under the same subpar management that was there when I had my fence installed. The older woman in the office is very rude and unprofessional. My gate broke during afternoon storms during the warranty period and they would not return calls about it. It took a lot to get them to cover it, even though it was because they installed it incorrectly. Once they have your money they will not help you.
Also, I understand after Irma it was a busy time for all, but when you call 5 other fence companies and they let you know within an hour of sending them photos of the fence that they don't carry that line of fence, you look bad when it takes you 10 weeks just to fill an order. Something else to consider, it seems like they use a sparsely used supplier, that most other local companies do not use, so it leaves you with few options for supplies.
I went into their office about a week Irma to place an order for material, they took down my information and what I needed. In response to me coming in Frank call on a weekend, which I was fine with, I really wanted to repair my fence for my dogs. He told me he would call me back the following week to let me know when the material would be in and the cost. No call after two weeks, no worries, I am sure they are busy. I call back and they tell me to email them what I need. Email sent as requested, and then follow up on the email a week later with a phone call, and they told me "I don't know who told you to email, we have hundreds of emails in our inbox and we are not even looking at them, can you tell me what you need again?" This went on for weeks, email, call, email, call. Then I was told if I placed my order then it would be 6-8 weeks to get the material, even though I had told Frank weeks prior I wanted to order this that day. Finally, I called one day, following up again, and they said we have plenty in stock what do you need? I told the woman and she gave me a total, and I went to pick it up. Upon picking it up I was told the price I was given over the phone was incorrect, and it would be more. The older woman who I think is the owner or manager or both was extremely rude and unprofessional about the whole thing. This is a completely incompetent business on all levels. read more
